Part 10 Rushvi wakes up super early and gets ready for college in record time, surprising Serena when she gets there with 30 minutes to spare.
"How are you here so early?" Serena asks,
"I was just too excited to tell you about yesterday!!" Rushvi says grabbing Serena's arms. "Oh but first tell me, how was your exam?"
"It went fine, now hurry up and tell me!" Serena says. "Does he look as amazing in real life?"
"Even more!" Rushvi says, disappearing into dream world. "But the best part is, he actually remembered me from the radio call in thing!"
"What?" Serena asks.
"He recognized my voice and then when he heard my name he knew it was me. Turns out I intrigued him." Rushvi grins.
"And then?" Serena asks, her enthusiasm fading bit by bit.
"Okay so then he had to go up on stage and all but he took my cell number and so were kinda having a conversation through texting, and then..." Rushvi rattles off the details of their conversation. "But then—Reena dragged me away before I had a chance to actually get to talk to him, and then she went off into some rant that it was a celebrity crush and it has to stay that way and blah, blah, blah," Rushvi frowns. "But then last night he texted me again since I disappeared, and so we made plans to meet today after college,"
"You're gonna meet him despite Reena's threats?" Serena asks.
"Sere, how many times in life do you get an opportunity like this?" Rushvi asks.
Serena nods. "Okay I know what you mean, but just promise me you'll be careful," Serena hugs her tightly. "I'm just so happy for you!"
"I know!" Rushvi squeals back.
The rest of the day seems to drag along slowly by the minute for Rushvi; tick-tock, tick-tock. Finally her cell phone beeps taking her out of her boredom.
"What time should I meet you? And where?"
Rushvi grins, and show the text to Serena, "In about 20 minutes? Right off the corner from UCLA, there's a small unknown coffee shop, we can meet there,"
"See you then,"
Rushvi shows the messages to Serena and grins. "I can't wait!"
"I'm happy for you, but remember, be careful," Serena says, wearily as she hugs her again before Rushvi gets into her car.
At the coffee shop
Rushvi sits down near the window in the corner, and keeps checking over her shoulder every few minutes. "Sheesh! Why am I being so paranoid? He's the one who wanted to meet, I just need to relax." Rushvi took three deep breaths before checking over her shoulder again; only to see someone walking in her direction with dark glasses and a beard. "Ugh, why is he coming to sit here?"
"Aren't you going to offer me to sit down?" He comes and stands near her.
Rushvi reluctantly looks up and sees him taking off his dark glasses revealing his bluish green eyes. "Robert," She let out in a whisper. "Sorry, sit down please."
"Don't be sorry," Robert says as he sits down across from her, slowly taking of the beard, wincing at the slight pain. "Stupid precautions."
"Oh wow, I'm so sorry for not recognizing you," Rushvi smiles sheepishly.
"I didn't intend for you to," Robert smiles up at her, right as the waiter comes to their table and Robert pops open the menu in front of him. "Uh—Rushvi why don't you order?"
Rushvi smiles knowingly, as she glances at the menu, "We'll get two cafe latte's and a scone for you Richard?" She says the first name that pops into her head, and then makes a face, at the choice of the name.
"That works for me, thank you," Robert replies and finally sets down his menu as the waiter leaves. "Richard?"
"First name that popped into my head; sorry," Rushvi smiles.
They both spend the entire afternoon just sitting and chatting, and every time someone calls from Rushvi's house, she pretends to be out shopping with some of her friends.
In Mumbai
Maya looks through her text messages as she walks on to the sets the next morning. "That's weird I would've imagined getting like 20 messages from Rushvi about Rob," While walking she doesn't realize when she bumps into Harshad, "Oops sorry!"
"It's fine." Harshad replies walking towards his makeup area.
Maya rushes after him and grabs his shoulder. "Kya hua? You're not usually like this,"
"Nothing," Harshad shrugs out of her grip and keeps walking.
"Harshad! Don't be like that, I thought we're friends," Maya says stopping in the hallway.
Harshad sighs and takes her hand and leads her to his makeup room. "You wanna know what happened?"
Maya nods. "Especially since it seems to be bothering you so much,"
"Stop showing so much concern Maya," Harshad groans.
"What?" Maya asks, her voice barely a whisper.
"I know it's just all a big ruse, all girls are the same." Harshad sighs.
"Did something happen with Sanju?" Maya asks.
Harshad nods, as he goes narrates everything that happened with him and Sanjana last night.
Last Night
"You know how important my family is for me; but you still thought that going to some stupid press conference party was more important?" Harshad asked as Sanjana lounged on his couch.
"Harshad, get over it please. It's only her engagement. I'll be there for the wedding. I have different priorities,"
"I'm not your priority?" Harshad asked as he slowly turned to face her.
Sanjana stood up to face him, "Look, you already have a successful show, and right now I need to network, meet some new people, and focus on my career,"
"So that's how it is? Your career is more important than me and my family?" Harshad crosses his arms.
"I never said that," Sanjana said.
"You're implying it." Harshad clarified. "And if that's really how you feel—"
"It is how I feel. I think we've changed as people Harshad, breaking up would be the best decision," Sanjana picked up her purse and walked out of his apartment.
Back to the Present
"Oh my god," Maya says, putting her hand on his shoulder. "I'm so sorry,"
"Don't be." Harshad sighs. "I knew it would happen sooner or later,"
"But still, I'm sorry." Maya gives him a small hug and then starts walking away.
"Wait Maya," Harshad says looking up at her.
"Yeah?" Maya turns around and waits.
"Will you sit with me for a little bit?"
Maya smiles and sits down on the bench with him while he just holds her hand in his lap. Right then her cell phone beeps, and so she uses her other hand to check the message. "I'm so sorry I haven't msg'd you or anything, but EEEEEEEE I just came from having coffee with ROBERT!! Call me or text me..or msn me or do something! Can't wait to get your input!!!!" Maya just smiles to herself. "On one side of the world I've got a friend who is probably ecstatic, and over here, Harshad's so sad. I wish this never happened to him." Maya makes up her mind to help him smile again.
Aww so Rushvi's all happy but then on the other side Harshad's broken up with Sanjana, he must be heartbroken. 😔 I'll update soon! 😃
Love you all loads,
Meera and Rushvi😳
