Part 6
Recap: Rahul and Muskaan go to meet the doctor at the rehabilitation centre,where Muskaan introduces Rahul's identity as a friend.
Rahul-Muskaan,sirf dost?(clutching her arm tightly)
Muskaan-(starts moving towards the door,Rahul loosens her grip and drags her out of the centre.)
Rahul-Main kya tumhara sirf dost hu Muskaan?
Muskaan-Rahul,main use kya batati main?(shrugs his hand of her.)
Rahul-Batati ki main tumhara boyfriend hu.
Muskaan-Kitna simple hain,na batati ki me tera boyfriend hun(imitates him),I mean who mere bare main kya sochti.
Muskaan starts walking towards the car.They both get in and Rahul starts driving whilst talking to Muskaan.
Rahul-Sharam aati hai kya mujhe aapna boyfriend boolana main?Kya main itna boora hu?
Muskaan-Rahul aise koi baat nahin hai.Tumhe pata hai na I am lucky to have you as a boyfriend.(looks in the other direction and does not talk to him for the entire trip back home.)They come to a screeching halt in front of Muskaan's house.
Rahul-Muskaan baat hai!Itni sharam aati hai to mujhe aapna manti hi kyun ho?Agar logon ko nahi baatana hai mere bare main toh mat bataon.Kyunki main tera kaun whu,sirf ek dost dam it,Just An ordinary friend.
Muskaan looked at Rahul,shocked;frustratedly she rang the doorbell.Rahul grabs Muskaan's hand but to no avail as Muskaan just shrugs of his hand.Rahul's mom answers the door.Rahul again attempts to talk to her,he knew that he had said too much.Muskaan drops off her bag on the counter and quickly paces up the flights of stairs towards her bedroom.She shuts the door with a bang and crashes onto her bed,crying.
Rahul ruffles his hair up and looks towards him mom who looks at him with a what did you do now look?Rahul grabs the television remote and sits in front of the television.He starts flicking through the channels,angry,frustrated,finally he decides to retire back to his room.He closes the door with another bang.He sits down on his bed trying to calm down thinking that he should apologise to her,but his ego was hurt and this time he was not going to make the first move.
Nikita entered the house,and inquired about Rahul and Muskaan,she found out that the happy couple were separately sitting frustrated at each other.She rolled her eyes as she realizes that it had almost become a habit for them to be mad at each other,just like the good old days.She knocks on Muskaan's door,and then enters.Muskaan quickly fixes up her hair,and brushes back the tears.
Nikita-Kya hua Muskaan?
Muskaan-Kuch nahi Nikita!Just you know chilling in my room.
Nikita-Ya right!Muskaan mujhse jhoot mat bolo,tumhara aur Rahul ka jhagda hua hai kya?(sits on the bed next to Muskaan)
Muskaan-Nahi aise koi baat nahi hai Nikki.
Nikita-Muskaan!(gives her a death stare)
Muskaan-Woh aahh you know just ki maine iss(she could'nt tell them about her brother being in rehabilitation.)se kaha ki wo sirf mera dost hia,you know jokingly aur phir usne seriously lia,aur bohot kuch kaha.
Nikita-Tum seriously choti choti baat par ladte ho!
Muskaan-Hmmm,Aneways Nikita wo bohot raat ho chuki hain to main so leti hoon.
Nikita-Par Muskaan,its only 8:00,aur tumne kuch khaya bhi nahin hai.
Muskaan- who kya hain na Nikki ki ,umm hamari kal zyaada duty hai kyunki hum dono ne aaj jaldi leave le li thi,so main so jaati hoon.Aur mujhe bhook nahi hain.
Nikita-Ok!Main neeche T.V dekhne jaati hoon.
Muskaan-Bye!
Muskaan sighed as Nikita went out,her anger had partially melted as she realized she was angry over a really stupid reason.She looked at the watch and wondered whether she should go and say sorry to Rahul.She decided that she would go and do that.
Muskaan silently crept down the stairs, to make Nikita and Rahul's mom unaware that she was entering Rahul's room.She entered Rahul's room,silently closing the door behind her.She looked over at Rahul's bed,he was sleeping peacefully.She went up closer to him and noticed that there he had a grim expression on his face.She gently kissed his cheek and whispered a "Sorry!",in a husky tone. She smiled at the way in which he was clutching the blanket and looked around to see where her very own photo was only to notice that he had it tightly held in his hands. She smiled looking at it. He was truly the best boyfriend that she could ever have. She decided to do something in return for all of these gestures; she looked around to see if there was a piece of paper lying around. She took a pen out of his pen stand and started writing a love letter. She wrote the letter, and placed it on his bedside table; she then made her way out of the room satisfied that he would not be angry at her in the morning. She shut her own door and peacefully went back to sleep.
Next Morning
Rahul got up and remembered the events of last night; he ruffled his hair and got out of his bed. He quickly made his bed and looked over to grab his watch from his bedside table, to find a letter. He quickly scanned through the letter and laughed at Muskaan's words. He put the letter down and made his way to the bathroom to get ready.
Muskaan got up early, and quickly got dressed, she jovially skipped down the steps and made her way into the kitchen to make herself and everyone else some toast. She grabbed the bread and popped it into the toaster, as she waited for it to pop up again she started making tea, and then coffee. Tea for Rahul's mom and herself, and Coffee for Rahul and Nikita.She opened the fridge to grab the milk to pour into the boiling coffee; she looked around for the milk and finally found it. She shut the refrigerator door and turned around, shocked to find someone right in front of her there right in front of her. She let out a shrill scream,as she realized it was Rahul.He put both his hands on either side of her and looked at Muskaan,who was looking as beautiful as ever. He looked at her poised lips, he placed his hand on her jaw and lifted it up. He stared at her innocent beauty and moved in to kiss her on the lips, when Muskaan turned away from him.
Rahul's mom-(entered the living room which overlooked the kitchen and yelled out)Muskaan!
Muskaan-Rahul chodo mujhe(trying to get out of his hold)
Rahul-Tsk,nahi choonga,kya kar logi?
Muskaan-(glared at Rahul)Rahul chodo!
Rahul-Theek hain,ek shart par aaj tum mujhe jo chahiye,wo dogi!
Muskaan-Ok promise!
Rahul-Paka!
Muskaan-Ab chodo mujhe waha chai ko dekhne do aur tumhari Ma bhi yaha aa rahi hain.
Rahul(laughs at her dramatic tone and lets her go)
Muskaan quickly scrambled out of the position,and poured the milk into the tea.Rahul's mom entered the kitchen and started cutting some fruits.After a while Muskaan turned off the gas,Rahul looked around innocently as he laughed at the way Muskaan was conducting herself.Rahul's mom had come in and was noticing that these two were busy either smiling at each other,or making gestures at each other behind her back.Muskaan carefully poured the tea into two mugs,one for her and the other for Rahul's mom.Nikita came in to find her coffee already made,and sat down on the counter sipping it.Rahul was busy,pretending to be busy,he attempted helping Muskaan in clearing up the kitchen,but to no avail as Muskaan drove him away.As soon as Muskaan sat down and grabbed her cup of tea,Rahul joined her with his coffee.Rahul's mom and Nikita went out of the kitchen leaving the two to enjoy breakfast together.
Rahul-Coffee bohot achi bani hai!
Muskaan-Thanks(tucking a strand of hair behind her)
Rahul-Waise maine letter padha!
Muskaan-Really?
Rahul-(leans back tapping his cup)Not good enough Muskaan!Kaha meri sher aur shayaari,aur tumhara sweet sa letter.
Muskaan-Well main tumhari tarah likh nahi sakti Raoool.(laughing)Aneways tum gaadi start karo main meri case file le kar aati hoon.
Rahul-Ok,main Nikita ko boola ta hoon.
At Sanjeevani
The interns got handed out their respective duties with Anjali and Atul being together in the Path Lab.Armaan was unfortunately separated from Ridhimma and was placed in the OPD along with Rahul.Ridhimma and Nikita were assigned to attend the general ward.Whilst Muskaan was to take care of the children in the children's ward.

Rahul was wondering where Muskaan was since she hadn't come to have their regular coffee break with the rest of the gang.He went in search of her and found her in the children's ward looking after the children.She was cutely playing with a little girl who had previously been crying due to excruciating pain.She was making her laugh with playing peek-a-boo with her along with a cute teddy bear.She looked around impressed at her effort in controlling these mischievous pair of children to fin Rahul at the door gazing in at her.Their eyes met and Rahul mouthed an "I love you!"to Muskaan,she blushed upon his sight and returned back to work.Rahul tried to regain her attention and tell her to come outside,but Muskaan was busy staring at the file.He entered the ward,noticing that all the children had their eyes set on him.He waved and said "hi!" to them and kept his hand on his lips,gesturing to them not to make Muskaan aware that he was here.Rahul slowly made way to Muskaan,from over her shoulder he grabbed her file,and as he did,Muskaan turned around.Rahul laughed and raised the file high so that she could not reach it.
Rahul-Agar file chahiye,toh phir bahar aao.
Muskaan-Oye!Kaan khajure,tumhe dikhta nahi hain kya,main yaha kam kar rahi hoon.
Rahul-Mujhe sab kuch saaf saaf dikh raha hain Muskaan,tum to mere saath time hi nahi spend karna chahiti.Agar aisee baat hain to phir jaao, aneways mujhe ek case handle karni hai,toh phir main waha jaata hoon.
Rahul made his way out of the Children's ward determined to make Muskaan jealous.He looked at the case file in front of him and gazed upon who it was that he was attending to.He scanned the folder and noticed the name Ankita.
Rahul(to himself)Ankita,wow bohot interesting.Ab mujhe sirf Muskaan ko mujhe dekhne ke liye laana padega,to make her jealous..Great, good job Rahul!

He looked outside the ward,to see whether Muskaan had arived yet.It had been 10 minutes since he had been here in the room,waiting for her to come so that he could make her jealous by attending to Ankita in front of her.He gave a smile to Ankita as he attempted to look busy,staring at her charts.Gappu signaled him that Muskaan was coming towards the room.Muskaan came and stood at the door noticing Rahul laughing with a pretty girl.
Muskaan-Dekho is sale ko,aachi ladki dekhi nah,i ki yeh line maarne lagta hai,uff.(she entered the room glaring at Rahul as to what he was doing)
Rahul-Hi Muskaan!I mean Dr Muskaan.
Muskaan-Hi Dr Rahul.aap yaha kya kar rahe hain?
Rahul-Ofcourse Main aapne patient ko attend kar raha hoon.(turns away from Muskaan,looking towards Ankita)So Ankita tum aab kaisi ho?Dard kam hua ki nahi?
Ankita-Yes Dr Rahul,thanks to you main bohot achi hoon.
Muskaan stared at Ankita coldly ,she looked at Rahul and gestured him to come outside the room.
Rahul-(trying hard not to laugh)So tum jald hi general ward main shift ho jayogi!So there is nothing there for you to worry about.Tumhara appendix aab virtually non-existent hain.Aur tumhara regular diet slowly fir se chalu ho jaayega!Par abhi toh tumhe,lemonade aur in sab liquid cheezein khaane padegi.
Ankita-Thanks a lot doctor!
Rahul-No worries Ankita!Main hoon tumhare liye(he rested his hand on her shoulder),jab bhi kuch madat chahiye ho.
Muskaan-Rahul do minute,you know baahar ayo!Tum se kuch baat karni thi.
Rahul-Ji aap dekh nahi raahi,Dr Muskaan main kissi patient ke saath busy hoon.Aap se baad main baat kar leta hoon.Theek hain?
Muskaan-Ya,theek hain!(giving an awkward smile to Ankita)Bye!Ankita'
Rahul-Aur here you go,your first round of lemonade.Lets start off with the liquids first,phir hum solids pe jaayenge!(he passed the lemonade over to her,and held her hand comfortingly)Aur aap ke ye jo stitches hain,who dissolving hain so,they will dissolve kuch barso ke baad.
Ankita-Thank god,mujhe laaga ki yeh scar zindagi bhaar hoga.
Rahul-Don't wory nahi hoga,just for a couple of years.
Muskaan-(outside the room)Samajh tha kya hain aapne aap ko?Uss ko aise aise kar ke choone ki koi zaroorat nahi thi.Uff!
Rahul-Bye Ankita!(pats her head and comes out of the room,closing the door,thinking to himself mission accomplished)
