Chapter 4

Senses overcome by the lingering perfume which could only be Riddhima in description transported Armaan into a trance; hovering behind her he could take in nothing but Riddhima, from the way she walked, gliding soundlessly across the floor, not the normal clip clop most ladies shoes made to the way she claimed the space around her... making everything around her fade into the background; to the confidence in her stride and body language demanding attention and respect yet managing it in the most unobtrusive femininely gorgeous way' everything had blown him away.

Simply dressed in a red suit dress, her matching blazer sitting on her petite frame caused the most wondrous havoc of emotions he had ever known or felt, entwined with the whispers of hair that had come lose playing with the tender skin on the back of her neck, basking in the warmth the soft skin provided, Armaan was having a difficult time remembering the few rules Abhi had set out for this meeting to be successful.

Just walking behind her had caused his heart to flutter beyond control, having to actually sit through meetings with this woman was nearing to driving Armaan crazy. If it wasn't for the constant reassurance and gruelling preparation from Abhi, Armaan wasn't all together sure he could have managed this.

"So we finally meet Mr. AM, please take a seat. Would you care for tea, coffee?"

"Mr. AM, you make sound me like a radio station Ms. Gupta, please its Armaan' Armaan Malik"

laughing out a little loud to wipe away his nervousness as he watched her smooth out her dress before starting to take her seat opposite at the desk; extending his hand he caught her in mid air catching her off guard, making her realise in her haste she hadn't carried out the simple formalities as one would expect at a first meeting. Quickly responding to avoid further embarrassment she extended her hand with the most earnest smile she had managed all day "Riddhima, you can call me Riddhima" feeling him caressing her hand gently she realised they were still holding hands.

Smiling as he caressed her hand one last time before letting go Armaan motioned for her to take a seat. She may have been comfortably seated now but Armaan found himself fidgeting in his seat, lying to this woman who had the most enigmatic eyes he had ever seen he knew concentrating was going to be little more taxing then they had comprehended.

.

"Riddhima Gupta, sole heir of the late Shashank Gupta, granddaughter of Anand Chopra. Your nanaji (maternal grandfather) would have been proud of what you have achieved sweet Riddhima. You've come a long way from your teen years, you can run sweetheart, but you can never hide from your past"

Flipping through the file he had so painstakingly complied over the years his eyes came to rest on a particular picture. A group of teenagers all sat around on a park bench, happily enjoying the sun shining on their faces, in the middle of the mess was one particular girl who just shone out, the wind blowing against the already flawlessly tanned skin, the sparkle of her soul shone through her eyes, the essence of the groups happiness shone through the lens and onto the onlooker, the whole picture seemed to paint times of a happier life... the whole thing bar one. In the far distance, almost invisible to anyone looking... unless you knew it was there was one kid sitting all alone, almost in the shadows just staring... staring at the group it seemed. He seemed so lost, so out of place in this picture... the dark rain clouds seemed to drown him.

Smiling sadly to himself Abhi put the picture away, reminding himself once more why what he was doing was necessary. "Right lets see' you have my shares now I want yours Ms Gupta" dialling a number Abhi quickly made arrangements with his broker "Sarah I don't care how senseless it is' I want those shares at any cost... hmm' I'll take the whole lot' ARE YOU QUESTIONING ME AGAIN WOMAN? For the last time, it's my money and I will do with it what I please. Keep me up to date by email. I don't want you calling me"

.

The man sitting across from her had the most amazing aura she had ever come across, dressed in his company's signature AM branded suit, burgundy satin lined suit, burgundy shirt with the top few buttons undone allowing a naughty peek at the finely toned physique most men only dreamt of.

Dragging her eyes away from the muscles that peaked through the opening of his shirt she allowed her eyes to wonder around the outline of his jaw, the strong frame holding the smooth olive skin which bore the most amazingly deep and stomach fluttering dimples she had ever seen. The cutest of beauty spots marked his cheek just below his left eye, she smiled looking at it, he was indeed someone evil spirits would have to be warded thanking his unnaturally handsome features, if that spot wasn't there she possibly would have had to put one on him herself. The straight and sharp nose didn't seem overly angular and intrusive when put together with the rest of his features, they only added to the masculine beauty he emanated. Sweeping past his eyes quickly she couldn't help but smile wider at the boyish dishevelled sweep of hair, apparently t he flight back from china hadn't been overly kind to him, even though the rest of him didn't show his tiredness his hair certainly gave it away.

"I'm really sorry to have disturbed you so late Ms Gupta"

Jumping at the sound of her name Riddhima realised she had been sitting there almost silent for a while, while he continued to talk about what she had no idea. Meeting his eyes for the first time she immediately felt a pang somewhere deep within. The hazel come green eyes, she had seen those eyes before... the strange mixture of those shades were defiantly familiar...

"Really I insist its Riddhima, and it's no trouble at all. I was wondering when the infamous AM' I mean Armaan Malik would come out from behind the curtains"

Catching the sarcasm in her tone Armaan smiled at her confidence, here he was a sitting bag of nerves and there was the creature that held him captive under her spell for ever or so it seemed, still managing to keep the conversation on formal grounds while attacking his noticeably delayed meeting at the same time. She really was something else.

"I know' you must forgive my insolence, if it were in my hand I would have never kept such a beautiful lady waiting. But alas the world of fashion doesn't wait for anyone, neither those gifted with such beauty nor the crumbling beasts ' I was unduly kept busy in China preparing for our up coming fashion show when the news broke out. When I found out I tried to get the first flight back, but being the angel you are, you appeared out of nowhere as my guardian angel and saved me a wasted trip, my show and my life. I have no words enough to thank you for being' simply you"

Taking her hand in his, he kissed the top of hand to show his appreciation. Flustered by all the attention and the little speech Riddhima felt almost embarrassed at having been so crude in her use of words; Cheeks flushed slightly, tongue twisted she could do nothing but stammer a quiet "Your welcome"

"Victory is ours Abhi" Doing a little victory dance in his head Armaan smiled in the most seductive manner possible without looking sleazy, he was genuinely happy at the thought that he had the power to bring such a wonderful glow to the woman he was head over heels for, the woman who up till now knew nothing of his existence' but she will now.

"As a show of my appreciation and as the new partner in my baby I wonder if we could discuss this further' I can see you were on your way out so perhaps we can continue this over dinner?"

"Mr Mal... I mean Armaan, I really don't think that's necessary, we can always have a meeting in the'

"Please Riddhima don't refuse a dieing man' for I surely will die if you I don't eat something soon."

Chuckling a little Riddhima did as Armaan had wanted, raising an eyebrow she gave him the indication to continue "You see I've literally just come off my flight and came straight here. My luggage is still in the car' I know you must think I'm mad but I couldn't bare to keep a lady waiting, and that too such a beautiful one" Seeing her blush by his intended compliments his hopes only soared higher, "Will you please join me for dinner then? Our first business dinner as partners"

Staring into his eyes once more she felt the warmth they emanated engulf her, they held so much depth, so much compassion, they told a story of man hardened by fate yet still warm and soft at heart' feeling a chill run down her spine all the haziness that was there a second disappeared as she looked up to see Armaan holding his hand out to guide her out of the office. Those eyes she realised, they reminded her of a memory lost somewhere in the midst of the thousand others her mind had accrued over the years. Wanting to know more and convincing herself that perhaps have a business dinner with this dangerously handsome man could actually work to her benefit she agreed.

.

Beep Beep

Taking out his cell Armaan checked the text message:

"Invite her to the Fashion show next week and don't kiss her tonight whatever you do. Abhi"

Looking around instantly Armaan quickly scanned the room, was Abhi spying on him?

He promised this would be Armaan's night.., he'd let him go out for the first time on his own since they had known each other and now he was spying on him?

"Are you okay Armaan? You seem a little tense all of a sudden, is everything okay"

Snapping out of his thoughts Armaan quickly plastered a smile on his face, not all together a fake one as her concern did make his heart flutter. Staring back at her he completely forget his trail of thoughts, the only thing he could think of now was how beautiful the years had made her.; long gone were the uncontrollable locks, now replaced with the most silky soft ebony hair.

"I'm fine, really thank you for your concern"

seeing the sincerity in his eyes the words could never express Riddhima found herself slowly drifting away from her senses. There was something so familiar about those eyes... The way they shone at every connection, the way they glistened with some deep understanding at every word spoken even it was just a conversation about the weather... Smiling at recalling how awkward the entire situation had been to start with but then how the evening unravelled... Strange she pondered, she hadn't felt content or was it happy? In a very long time... So long she had difficulty trying to recall it

END FLASHBACK

Whoa-oa-oa! I feel good, I knew that I would, now

Jumping at her ringtone Riddhima looked around trying to figure what was going on, rubbing her eyes she stared at the caller id on the phone that was still ringing away happily to the James Brown track, Dr Jones? Now? Thinking out loud she reached over to grab her wrist watch, realising she had dozed off again during the day thanks to her sleepless nights Riddhima removed the paper attached to her lip resulting from the awkward sleeping stance on her desk and answered the call

hey sweety, sorry I didn't tell anyone I started a new story... I kind of don't do that... I leave it to the readers to see if they want to read it or not, not based on because I told them I've started a new one... don't want anyone feeling compelled that they have to read or comment. But I'm glad you finally found it... a small warning though.., it's nothing like any of my past stories... hopefully you'll enjoy the change 😳

ridhima smells the familiarity, finds him attractive of course thats no surprise, n him.,...hahahaha that brute abhi, if he only wasnt here we wud have some sizzling moemnts already but then then then, perhaps we wud have no tale at all....i havent i admit figured armaans undying devotion to him which wins over his desire for the woman he has fallen head over heels with....

so abhi was a loner...i wonder whr in the lead guy fits onto the picture, n um not fogrgettin g that u mentioned before that all of the gang ridhima's i mean have disappeared over time except her, that cant be a fact u intended for us to overlook um assmuing....u are a hell of a weaver girl....

Note: for all of you who have real vivd imaginations like mine you may understand after reading this part why it took me so long to post.
For all those that don't but get 'grossed' out by vivid descriptions, I'm sorry but you may not want to read this part.
Apart from this I don't really have much to say apart from I hope the effort put into this part shows. If you can at the end... that's of you managed to read it through to the end... let me know what you thought.
(p.s. Apologies for not getting back to your comments, but they are greatly appreciated and I will reply to them with the next lot)
Thank you 😳

Chapter 5

"Hello"
"Hello Riddhima... Where are you? We had an appointment at 12:30 remember and you never... you forgot didn't you?"
Grabbing her watch to reconfirm the time again Riddhima mentally kicked herself for being so preoccupied again, it was 5:30pm now and Dr Jones her psychologist was not the kind of woman you just forget to meet. Anjali Jones single-handedly held the key to Armaan's release into her care. "Dr Jones, I'm so so sorry, it completely slipped my mind I've just been inundated with work recently and haven't exactly been able to keep on top of my schedule"
"Hmm pressurised at work, missing pre-arranged appointments... I'm thinking lack of sleep also..." Riddhima could hear the brain cells working overtime; she had to do something fast otherwise her one little hiccup could result in the dreaded sentence... unfit to take care of Armaan.
"Er Dr Jones, it's nothing like that at all...it... erm it's just I was taking care of a few things and I lost track of time.... Can we re-arrange for another time? Or I could come down now" desperately trying to intervene with the inevitable decision her hiccup could cause, Riddhima felt the life drain out of her as Anjali greeted her with silence to her response. She had worked so hard over the past few years, initially getting over her own trauma and then coming around to deciding she wanted Armaan in her life; however he was she had felt the connection and was unwilling to let anyone come between them... even if that meant ABHI had to be somewhere there... always.
"Very well Riddhima, I need to have a word with you anyhow, over the phone wouldn't be suitable so if we could meet at your place say 7:00, does that give you enough time to wrap up your work and get home?"
"That should be fine Dr Jones; I'll meet you there... and thank you"
FLASHBACK
So many thoughts yet so few words, so many emotions in such a small space of time; feeling is great until the feeling starts to suffocate; thinking is brilliant until it begins to haunt and make you shiver and shake. The thoughts piled on and the burden piled on further, the darkness the uneasiness it was all too clear, all too simple yet so intriguingly complicated and wound with webs that even a spider may disappear. In the midst of the thoughts one thing shone clear, it's said revenge is best served cold yet ABHI sat alone in the darkness of his thoughts begging to differ. The words were too far and few for a methodical thought to be extracted and printed, yet ABHI ploughed on etching out his mind taking make anything clear, racking the little sane part left of his brains trying to think of a way to release the tension which was slowly coming to boiling point.
Dropping the blade mid flow ABHI blocked his ears as the soul piercing screech escaped his lips; tears flowed mercilessly as he screamed out his frustrations, his thoughts... his soul. There were just too many thoughts, too many emotions surfacing at the same, each fighting the other to come to surface; the suffocating effect was mind-numbing and painful. The horrific thoughts and emotions clearly plastered each wall, every surface of the dark room... scrawled and etched into the wooden boards covering the grill covered windows, scratched into the very concrete wall of the abandoned warehouse he had made his own were years of 'ABHI'... raw, no cloaks to hide the real him.
The images of Armaan and Riddhima sitting cosily at the fashion show after party hit a raw nerve, the happiness that he felt for Armaan was overshadowed and over powered by the sight of the woman who had destroyed everything near and dear to him. A wave of pure loathing shook him as the blood curdling screech continued to echo from wall to wall, ceiling to floor of the abandoned warehouse... this was where it had started and this would be where it finished.
Cold sweat covered his brow as the deep breathing exercise, the counting sheep methods... all trialled and fashionable failed were trialled once more. Feeling a shiver run down his spine as the nauseating memories came flooding back along with the renewed passion to seek his revenge.
It was here that he had bared his heart to her, raw and full of emotion, to her and all those that came with her. The echo of laughter still resounded in his head as his screech resounded in the derelict warehouse. The torment, the humiliation, the pain and ridicule it would have been nothing but a mere black mark in his childhood...It would have been... had the group of children, yes they were mere minors when it happened but isn't it true cruelty stung when dished out by children?
ABHI still remembered to this date what had happened in the weeks that followed that fateful day, the torture he'd endured, the episodes of being locked up in the dark cupboards... the darkness that had tormented him then had now become his only ally... it led him to skipping school and spending his time hiding out till home time so he could accompany his brother home undetected. It all came to a standstill the day he'd come home from yet another day of hiding, ABHI had managed to miss Armaan that day and thought today would the day of reckoning for him.
It turned out the children were more brutal than one could possibly imagine... ABHI and his family didn't exactly live in the most fashionable part of the city, Bronx wasn't the best of areas anyone should have to raise children but poverty had left the Maliks' little choice. ABHI came home to find the house in shambles, windows smashed, front door hanging off its hinges, bewildered, confused and downright scared for his life and that of the family one could only pray wasn't inside; ABHI clambered up the stairs of the house to get to the remain of the main door only to freeze at the threshold thanks to the sight that welcomed him.
There lay his father in a pool of blackness, the face distorted with the many glass pieces jutting out at awkward angles, his mother cradling him in her lap as she rocked back and forth completely lost somewhere. Her tear stained blood splattered face was about all he could remember registering before another brick came flying through the remains of the window.
ABHI immediately ran to the window to face the culprit only to be faced with yet another stomach churning sight... that of his brother... Armaan lying mutilated on the side walk.
,
The warehouse had been owned by a local meat market which had long since gone out of business, the spikes where meat were once hung still splayed carelessly around the place including one large walk in freezer which had not been used since the closure of the place some 10 years ago. Not too far from the school they once attended ABHI would come here often to try and balance his sanity and ease off some of the anguish that would eat him up day by day, hour by hour watching the last of them walk without so much as a care in the world.
Watching her stand there without a trace of repentance, emotionless eyes watching the world as the self absorbed person she was continued to go on like nothing had ever happened. Every time he allowed Armaan near that wicked soul ABHI felt his heart bleed, eyes burned from the anger and pain he had to hide, the black hole of emotion he kept buried deep always erupted like a dormant volcano coming alive with a never ending flow of molten lava... yet she continued unaffected.
"Well not any more... the time has come to end this game Ms Riddhima Gupta"

NOTE:
Thank you for the comments guys... I can see this story isn't majorly popular (that's me being optimistic lol) but I have this problem where I can't leave things unfinished unless specifically requested to stop wasting people times... and mine... seeing as that hasn't happened (again the optimist in me kicks in lol) i've completed the story with the final part in 2 installments... partly because I didnt want it to be one loooong ending, and was going to post one part today... but I think the earlier downtime has messed something up so can't edit the thread nor sort out why these posts look so wierd when your logged on.
If anyone wants me to not bother posting the parts please i'd rather you just said... if that's on here or pm, doesn't bother me either way... but I don't want to waste anyones time.
Enjoy the weekend everyone... and hopefully a part will posted soon 😳

Chapter 6A

Watching Armaan interact with Mary acting as though she was the most wonderful and important person in the world somewhere deep inside irked Riddhima a tad too much "Look at her all over him, air-headed pea sized can't string a sentence together to save her life worth less receptionist" the words literally flew out of Riddhima's mouth before she could do anything about them. Self restraint was the last thing Riddhima wanted to pursue the moment the giggles turned to silence. Staring on in horror realising she could no longer see Armaan nor Mary through the small gap in her office door which up till now provided the perfect discreet view of the reception desk; without a second thought Riddhima stalked towards the door... coming closer she heard a giggle momentarily making her freeze mid-step... they were both behind the desk she thought..."Mary in here now!" growling allowing her anger noticeably resounding around the room Riddhima stood there with her hands on hips, nostrils flaring with the uncontrollable anger.

A startled Mary jumped up from the floor hitting her head hard on the desk... Riddhima had little care to stand and watch the air-head make a show of herself but she had to see if Armaan was also hiding back there.

Almost as though he heard her calling, Armaan walked into the foyer area looking rather amused as always by something... darting her eyes from Mary, who was trying to conceal a phone in one hand while rubbing her sore head with the other, to the as ever amused Armaan Riddhima felt the colour drain from her face... realising her mistake at once she fumbled quickly to find an excuse in her head to cover her blatant cock up "I asked for a the Steven's file half an hour ago! Why is it taking you so long to bring it to me?"

Mary gulped as Riddhima's words registered "Yes ma'am I have it right here" half running half walking to keep from looking like a complete fool Mary handed over the required file before quickly scurrying back to her station

Slamming the door behind her, Riddhima berated herself "What the heck is wrong with me...Armaan wasn't even with her...he was... where was he?" the fact that Mary had been skiving off work yet again hadn't seemed to bother Riddhima for the first time... but the fact nor the thought behind it remained to be discovered... at least herself.

Stalking up and down the room the amused expression on Aaron's face constantly kept flashing in front of her eyes, why was he so amused... what was he up to? And why did he look different yet familiar in an eerie way just now? "Well of course he'll look familiar you've just spent the last month hanging off his every word, at his side practically 24/7" A small smile formed on her lips as she felt the familiar warmth of thinking about Armaan simmer gently through her veins. Thinking about how gentle, how caring, so unlike the men she had come across in her life, taking her happiness to new heights which up till now she thought was impossible... yet he was very much here and he posed the definite possibility of eternal happiness only went onto bring the twinkle in her eyes only true happiness could vouch for.

************************************************

Watching her walk up and down the room half heartedly flicking through the file Armaan sat bound and gagged to his chair. Pulling at the ropes tying his hands, he winced as they started the painful job of cutting into his skin. He had quickly popped out of the office to attend a call from Abhi when he found himself being blind folded and hurriedly ushered into a car of some sort. Suffering from extreme claustrophobia he had passed out before he was able to do anything else... and the next thing he knew he was being bought round to his senses with a hard slap followed by ice cold water and then yet another slap.

Armaan growled in anger as the look in Abhi's eyes and the voice he used to pass his speech boiled his blood... "Armaan I love you brother but I have to do this... she has to go... forever". There was no remorse, no sadness... no signs of human life in those eyes as that grave voice carried the death sentence like ice through the air... Abhi was not the person he had grown up with... he was a monster.

It hadn't taken Aaron long to register where he was, the same filthy grey walls, the same mouldy stench lingering through the air, the same blinds and pollution covered windows which only allowed you to look out but nothing in... He was back in the empty apartment across from Rosa's office, except this time he wasn't there by choice.

************************************************

Riddhima peeped at her watch amidst the constant attempts to try and keep the impending lunch date out of her mind, only to be disappointed every time to discover only a few seconds had lapsed. Knowing the clock was ticking down, every second bringing her closer to the moment she could just sit and enjoy the warmth Armaan emanated sent shivers down her spine. Unable to do anything but think of Armaan she decided to do what she hadn't done in years... write in her diary... or more precisely her online diary. Online for the mere fact that this was the only place she found no-one could accidently stumble across her deepest darkest secrets and desires.

Date: Friday 13 February

Unlucky for some but maybe lucky for others... I have a confession to make. I think I've found someone other than Rahul that I can see myself spending the rest of my life with. I don't know what it is about him but every time I see him or am around him... I just feel at home. It's like the way Rahul and I used to be... around each other we would always feel a connection to home... Bronx. How far we've come since those days and although I admit our days weren't great... they were what made us what we are today... I don't know what it is about Armaan... yes his name is Armaan Malik, perhaps I should have mentioned that first. Never mind, I'm sure you'll come to know a lot more about him... soon.

Anyways back to Aaron, as I was saying although I've known him for a mere few weeks...almost a month... wow is it only a month?... more if you count when I first came into contact with his name I guess, it seems I've known him all my life... or at least it feels like his always been a part of it... somehow. There's just something about him that, even though I know we are now more than just business partners and possibly more than friends (I think) there seems to be something about him that I don't know.

Okay I know you must be as confused as me know... one second I say I've known him all my life and the next I say I don't as there's something about him... but that's how he leaves me feeling. He can be this spontaneous daring soul one second... like that first fashion parade when he asked me to accompany him to the stage at the end of the run so he could introduce his new business partner and hopefully more I remember him adding discreetly to me. It still makes me smile remembering how I had let him do that to me... with me without feeling nervous or anything but with anyone else I'm certain my reactions would have been different. That's how he makes me feel, completely at ease with myself, with him, with the whole situation... even if there isn't one. And then there's the moment where he'll just go into this weird zoned out style mode... where I can be right in front of him and his there with me physically, but mentally... I don't know... not to mention the fact... actually now come to think of it...

Staring at the screen Riddhima read and re-read the unfinished sentence... as though lighting had struck and magically, through some intervention Riddhima realised she knew nothing of Armaan Malik; except what she had heard people say... and how he had treated her... in all her research into Armaan Malik prior to the deal.... the deal, her face lit up as she looked away at the thought of how this had all started off as a game plan where the prize would be money... lots of it... and now it had become... become what? Coming back to the screen Riddhima found the unfinished sentence... like her unfinished thoughts a moment ago which came reeling back now... Riddhima realised she knew nothing of Aaron's background... at all! And yet he seemed to know everything about her... "Well that's hardly surprising, half the business world knows Riddhima Gupta" she reminded herself.

Picking up the Times magazine Riddhima stared at the cover as a picture of her and Armaan splayed on the front covers greeted her with the warm fuzzy feeling she felt that evening taking the picture for the press. But with it came a little chill as warning bells went off in her head... "I know nothing about Armaan... but do I need to?" letting the tug somewhere deep inside her and warning bells blaring in her head fight it out Riddhima sat back in her chair, eyes closed trying to calm her ragged nerves down.

************************************************

Abhi sat in the foyer counting down the seconds before his first ever lunch date with Riddhima, it was supposed to be a picnic followed by a surprise... as per Aaron's original plans that is; little did Riddhima and Armaan know the surprise was about to take a nasty twist. Smiling evilly to himself Abhi flicked through the magazine once more... things were going to come to a close today.

"I swear I don't know what her problem is... does the woman not have a social life or is she just hell bent on making mine as miserable as hers"

Hearing the harsh words Abhi couldn't help but be amused and somewhat intrigued by the source; looking up from the magazine he noticed Mary blabbering away on the phone once again

Immediately appalled to see how an employee was openly slighting their employer he couldn't help but lift his nose in disgust; "What kind of people does this woman employ, no manners, no etiquette, if I had been any other client or business associate would she still be the same... no wonder the woman couldn't see this day coming a mile off then again this is me *chuckle* once the Malik brothers are in town nothing can stop us" Smiling arrogantly Abhi got up from his seat to go and see what use he could make of this otherwise unappealing creature.

************************************************

Seeing Mary now literally sprawled over the front desk drooling openly at Armaan was the last straw, the unknown fire which had momentarily ignited the last time she had assumed them together talking had returned, but ten folds stronger, If the volcano was bubbling before, it was more than ready to explode now.

Gritting her teeth Riddhima unconsciously clenched and unclenched her fists, the last thing she wanted was Armaan to think she were like all the other jealous and possessive women he had swooning around him at all times, she had to keep her composure she decided. After all he couldn't help it if he was dangerously handsome and genuinely a nice person who couldn't tell women to get lost... "But I damn well can... Mary you're out of here today". Twitching at the pain inflicted from her nails digging into her palms Riddhima immediately uncoiled her fists and walked out of her office coat in hand.

"Mary" The crystal clear ice in her voice carried just as she had calculated, caught unaware Armaan and Mary both jumped at the sudden interruption, although the latter took longer to compose themselves. "I've left the Steven's file in my office, make sure it's sent off today, no delays this time..." the momentary pause bought a guilty gulp along with a shade of embarrassment to Mary's cheeks "Cancel my meetings for the afternoon... reschedule them for another time in the week, I don't want to be disturbed for the rest of the day, if an emergency arises... and I mean in an extreme emergency like the buildings on fire then you can get me on my mobile"; Without waiting for further instructions Mary shuffled away to the office to pick up the files.

************************************************

"You really are too harsh on that poor woman you know" putting on her seatbelt Riddhima felt the lava within her boil to new heights. "There's only so much she can do, maybe you should hire someone to help her"; feeling her temples pound as her anger continued to rise she leant back, eyes closed onto the head rest trying to block out all emotions. "I mean I was watching her work today and she appears to be really hard working, poor petite thing like her I think she's really struggling..."

"Are you telling me how to manage my staff Armaan?" the low murderous tone only intrigued the devil in Abhi further, glancing sideways while driving Abhi noticed Riddhima had yet to open her eyes, so knowing where they were going was out of question. Obviously if she had opened her eyes he was full of replies to the strenuous list of questions she was bound to possess, that topped with the Malik charm and he couldn't set a foot wrong.

"I was only suggesting..."

Hearing the quiet hurt emotion in his voice Riddhima cursed herself, why was she out to make a misery of the time she had been waiting so eagerly for? "I'm sorry; I didn't mean to snap at you... I've just..."

Feeling his hand over hers she fell silent, gently caressing it while eyes still on the road ahead Abhi sought to soothe her building tension, after all he was supposed to be Armaan right now, even if touching her had repulsed him, at one point in his life how he would have done anything for this very moment to. Repulsed at his own chain of thoughts Abhi drew his hand back, not as abruptly as he would have liked to lest it raised any questions. "Don't apologise to me Riddhima, it makes me feel like a stranger... and I don't want to be one"

Touched by his remark Riddhima now knew she was definitely in love, any concerns she may have had about not knowing Armaan or about how he felt were now long ago. They may not have said those three words people yearn to hear to seal their relationship but his slight statement of not wanting to be a stranger was more than those three could ever mean to her. Overwhelmed with joy Riddhima leant over and placed a small peck on Armaan's cheek, sure they had done so previously but that was always on the pretence of business, this time... she just wanted to "You'll never be a stranger for me"

Shocked by her sudden action Abhi looked towards her feeling a certain heat rise within, it wasn't the kind he had felt when he used to witness Armaan and Riddhima together, it was a new sweet sensation and the happy feeling felt good.., so cursed were any moment of happiness for Abhi, however brief they may have been, that almost immediately flashes of his mothers tear and blood stained face, the images of the young mutilated Armaan and most importantly the look of death as it settled on his dying fathers face clouded his mind.

Nauseated by the images Abhi quickly opened the window, the cold air hit his temples like ice, the sharp contrast of the ice cold air against the burning rage inside burned his soul as he tried to gain control of the monster within that was ready to explode. Gripping the steering wheel till his knuckles went white Abhi took deep breaths in and out... It was all he could do to hold himself back from murdering her there and then.

Riddhima was too caught up in the moment to register where they were going or to see Abhi even muttering to himself, content with the way things were working out so far she drifted off into a world of just them and nothing else... time and space seized to exist, right here and now was the only place she wanted to be.

The next part is the finale, it's in mid-completed mode so hopefully that should be up soon (won't try to guess when... don't want to jinx it 😳). If you guys find it worthy do comment, either way good or bad, I completely understand exams and other commitments keep everyone from doing so but the fact that I have received any 'do not post anymore' msg's is compliment enough for me 😃
I hope you enjoyed the part... 😳
