They moved closer' closer' closer still and then Kripa fell suddenly, kissing the grass beside Angad. He met with reality once again and could not help laughing at his state- in love with the same girl for five years and still ' he sighed. Even the grass is luckier than me! He came to terms with their position and shook Kripa who was still lying on the grass. A frown surfaced upon his face when she did not stir. He tried again but with no result. He could feel her warm breath escaping on to his ear and then it hit him- she had 10 shots! No wonder she is asleep, she must have been smashed! It still was not easy to accept their proximity as well as what did happen but most importantly- what could have happened. He silently cursed himself for almost taking advantage of her intoxicated state yet could not fabricate a feeling of regret and though the guilt was there- it's power was faint as in compare with his passion. Angad took one last glance at her angelic face with the corners of his mouth turning upwards despite himself. He knew what he had to do- and yet, the incentive was just not there for him to wake her up or to leave himself. He closed his eyes in thought and her face was imprinted in his eyes even then telling him to do something- or was that the voice of his own mind. To Angad, they were both so similar that deciding between was purposeless. He then sighed, deciding on a compromise. Angad scooped her up in his muscular arms and couldn't help but take a peek; and she was still sleeping peacefully. He could not help but notice how her being in his arms felt so' right. Angad struggled to get out his phone but he did in the end and rang up Mishty.
Meanwhile, Mishty could not hear due to the loud beats encouraging everyone to hit the dance floor but then dropped her phone whilst bumping into someone and as she bent down to pick it up, she saw that Angad was calling. Mishty smirked- she had not forgotten him for even a second and she knew he would call to see what she was doing even while he was with Kripa. She felt eternally grateful to both of the as it had really started getting the right attention for her career. Everyone but him knew that she harbored something in her heart for the guy but till now- he had not given her the time of day. She pressed the accept button on the seventh ring- just as Angad was about to cut off and waited with anticipation. A surge of relief flooded through Angad as she picked up- he did not have a plan B as he knew that if he carried Kripa in like this, the media would be feasting on this for weeks. Like Kripa- he too hated the fact that at times like this- they are a total pain in the a*s. "Hi, Mishty?"
"Yes it's me Angad- why'd you call?" She said with anticipation in every fibre of her body.
"Well, I need a favor. Kripa is asleep so I have to carry her in my arms," A wave of disappointment washed over her before giving way to jealousy, "Can you please distract everyone, especially the media, so that I can get her to her room?"
"Yeah, yeah ok. Bye." Her voice droned on the phone. His words had drained her from disappointment but she still loyally got everyone onto the dancefloor after turning the lights off besides a spotlight on the dance floor.
Angad carried Kripa with ease and snuck in stealthily for a man his build with Kripa in his arms as well. Freeing a hand when they got up the very dimly lit stairs, he opened her door, turned the light on and then finally dropped her onto her bed. He should have left then and he knew that too but he could not help himself. He tucked her in snugly and she was nowin an even deeper state of sleep. A lock of hair lay across her cheek and he tucked it behind her ear, sneakily planting a kiss on her forehead as well. Angad left the room silently to attend to the remaining guests. He found Mishty sulking (unknown to Angad) on the other side of the hall and went over to her, slipping an arm around her waist and muttered a thanks in her ear. Even though it was almost 2 in the morning, the guests did not leave till over an hour later including the media. He was both shocked and tremendously relieved that the media had not caught him and Kripa- or had they?
Everyone had gone to bed exhausted from the day's events including Angad who spent the night, or what was left of it anyway to toss and turn in his bed while replaying in his head those intimate moments in the form of dreams. The next morning, sunlight had not woken anyone up as it normally does but instead it was Angad. Everyone was knackered and had no intention of an early start to the next day except Angad who had gotten up as he could not sleep haunted by those dreams. He had decided to pack his bags as they were leaving that night and then fell into a deep chain of thoughts, all related to Kripa and the main one, how are they going to meet again? Angad very well knew that sponsors do not meet with charities that much and after the party- he had no idea of how to meet with Kripa and put his plan forward.
Plan. Plan. He had no guarantee that either of them would work. First- to make Kripa jealous. He had already done that and after what it led to at the party- he was not sure if it was such a good idea. Second- the main plan. The plan of life and death. Armaan was in India still and Angad did really appreciate him going there mainly for his sister. Even if he said that he had other work, he knew that the main reason was to keep an eye on her. He had not heard from him in a while but last he had heard, they were getting on pretty nicely: three fights in two days. That has got to be a record- even for Ridzy. At least she was working hard, after all, it was one of the only good qualities in her. He missed her terribly right now and even though he will always deny it- he really needed her non-stop chatter with him so that he could function properly. That was half of the plan, but the other half of course involved Kripa. He was pretty sure that she would not appreciate what he was about to do to her life but he needed and loved her and he knew that somewhere deep down under the hate, she loved him as well. The least he could do is get them to be properly in love before doing anything major. And that meant that he had to work fast, he hadn't much time left. Speaking of Kripa, how is she? He wondered. She must have a killer headache right now' and I know exactly how I can help.
Kripa ended up rising at 2:30 pm! And surely enough, her head felt as if there were a million woodpeckers hammering at it. She sat up still reluctant to leave her bed and put her head in her hands. "Good morning' or should I say good afternoon?!?" Hearing the familiarly deep baritone she groaned. The last thing she needed on a morning like this was Angad Khanna the great. And surely enough, he shows his face first thing. She ignored the tone in his voice and shoved her duvet/comforter off only to find that she was still in her party dress. What happened at the party? Why am I still in this dress? Come to think of it, how did I get here? She tried to remember back but received only a blur of memories from before her dance. She thought even harder but double the amount of woodpeckers came back to torment her forcing her to groan once more. "Here, you'll need this." Angad handed Kripa a glass of water and some aspirin. She opened her mouth in protest but before something meaningful or witty could come out, Angad said: "Thank me later, but take it now- the woodpeckers will go away." with a wink and a smile. She angrily took it to finding some relief from her tremendous headache. She tried to remember last night again but she only recollected a blur of events. Angad was leaving her room but turned at the door to say "About last night'" hesitantly. The blank look on her face gave away her unawareness of the previous night's events so he finished with a "Never mind." whilst leaving.
