Hey everyone I thought I would starting writing a new FF so here it is:
Kanya, a 25 year-old girl lives with her family in Mumbai. There a middle class family and all the kids have very good morals. The Godbole family's eldest daughter, Adita, is already married and there second daughter Pooja is engaged. Pammi and Anand are now looking for a perfect man for their youngest daughter, Kanya.
Kanya is a quiet and shy girl in public, but very loud and loving with her family. She never disobeys her parents and wants to make them really proud. She is working in a big MultiNational Corporation now and knows that her parents want to get her married.
Pammi has found her some good proposals but they have not worked out. After each one breaks off, Kanya is heart broken. She always dreams of her prince charming coming and sweeping her off her feet. But she doesn't have time for that because her parents want her to get married soon.
The last guy she had actually started liking but then his family started having demands already. They wanted a new car for their son, lots of jewellery for their daughters, a TV, a computer, and money as well. Kanya hated that her parents were trying to arrange for this but didn't have the heart to refuse the rishtaa. Then once she went out for dinner with the guy and he tried kissing her and forcing himself on her. She was lucky that a few of her friends were there and they helped her. After that her family broke the rishta.
That happened a few months back and her Mom was back at talking to people and trying to find her the perfect husband.
Pammi: Kanya beta, just look at these pictures. All of these boys are so good looking.
Kanya just took the pics but didn't want to look at them.
Pammi: Kanya come on look at them. Especially pic #3. That boy is from a rich Punjabi family. Kanya! Look at them beta
Kanya's eyes were getting watery. She hated this marriage and Boy talk now. But again she didn't want to hurt her mom.
She slowly lifted the pics up and looked at them one by one.
Pooja: Mama just leave her alone. Can't you tell that she doesn't want to look at them
Pammi: tu chup kar Pooja. You found a guy for yourself but WE have to find someone for Kanya
Pooja: Just give her time and she'll find someone on her own
Pammi: NO Pooja its okay. Kanya doesn't have to look for someone. I will find her someone.
Pammi leans over and kisses Kanya.
Kanya: Thanks Mom. I should go now
She grabs her bag and runs out of the house. As she is walking towards the bus stop she thinks about her love life. She never had a boyfriend. All she had was crushes on guys and was always too shy to say anything. She always thought that if it was meant to be, the guy would come up to her. But they never did. And the ones that did like her, she didn't like them. They were all the jerks or the loosers that just bothered girls.
As she got to the bus stop she saw her friend Heer standing there. That brought a smile to her face.
Heer: Hey kanya! Don't tell me you were crying again?
K: no its nothing like that. Anyways, tell me how was your weekend?
H: ah it was okay. Just My Mom trying to get more proposals for me.
K: same here. I hate it. But I guess that's what all Mom's do now a days.
They both laugh a bit more and talk.
A few hours later'. Kanya gets a call from home
K: Hi mama
P: Kanya where are you?
K: Mom you called my office number so I'm obviously at the office
P: ok beta but come home soon
K: Yeah I will in 2 hours.
P: NO beta theres a boy coming to see you today
K: WHAT???
P: yes kanya. That's why I'm freaking out because theres so much to do now.
K: Mom! Who? How? When?
P: just come home soon. Be here by 4 latest. There coming around 6.
K: ughh mom..why?
P: beta its okay. Everythings gonna be okay. Just meet him once. I promise if you don't like him you'll never have to see him again.
K: okay fine. Bye Mom
P: Bye. See you soon
Kanya puts down the phone: this is happening way to fast she thought. Just this morning her mom had a whole file of pics and a few hours later she was having a guy come by. She just didn't want to seem too desperate.
Kanya left early that day so she could go clear her head and thoughts.
By the time she got home, she could see a difference already. The house was super clean, it smelled great and of food. She went into her room and there were 2 new suits on her bed.
Pammi: kanya these are for you. Pick which ever one you would like too.
K: Mom I really don't want too'.
P: I know you don't like this but I have a feeling this one will work.
K: Alright fine. I'll wear the light blue one.
P: That's my good daughter. Now get ready and come down.
K: wait mom'who's the guy?
P: Oh it's a really rich family. They own a very big company. I'm sure you've heard of him. He seems perfect for you. And he has a very nice family as well. There always travelling abroad and overseas. If you marry him, you will be so happy and never have any problems in life' (she keeps going on)
K: MOM! Just tell me the name
