Dharam's room

Veer: DHARAM!

Dharam was lying with his eyes closed when Veer screamed and he woke up startled and looked over at him. He saw how he was all enraged.

Dharam: Veer? (sat up weakly) Tum aise yaha kya karahe ho?

Veer walked in towards him

Veer: tum nahi jaante Dharam ke me kitne dino se is din ka intezaar karaha hu. Chalo utho or saamna karo mera

Dharam: Veer tum yeh kya kehrahe ho, hame kuch samajh me nahi aaraha

Veer: Aaj mujhe tumse mere har sawaal ka jawaab chaheeye.

Dharam: Kya huwa hai tumhe Veer or tum aise yu…

Veer: Nahi Dharam….(puts up his hand to silence him) aaj tum koi sawaal nahi karoge. Aaj tum sirf jawaab doge. (Dharam stood there waiting for him to begin) pata hai maine hamesha tumhaaree her baat, her faisle ko bina koi sawaal kiye apnaya hai yehi soch ke, ke tum mere bare bhai ho. Lekin tumhaare liye to kabhi kisee kee bhavnaaye ka koi mole raha hee nahi na. dusro kee khushi se tumhe koi farak nahi parta. Batoa?

Dharam: Tum kya kehna chahte ho Veer ham abhi bhi samjh nahi paaye hai

Veer: (raised voice) Kya tumne mere or Ananya ke beech daraar nahi peda ki? Kya tumne meree khushiya mujhse nahi cheenee? Bolo!

Dharam: (is stunned to know Veer knows everything) Dekho Veer hamaree baat suno wo…

Veer: Tum ne aisa kiya hai ke nahi?

Dharam: (puts his head down) ha…per wo…

Veer: ab mujhe kuch or nahi sunna. Tumhaaree saaree bharaas mujhse hai na to yeh lo (picks up Dharam's sword and by force hands it in his hands) uthao is talwaar ko or laro mujhse or khatam kardo taake dubaara tumhe aisa qadam uthaana na pare. Jab me rahunga hee nahi to phir meree khushiyo ko aag lagaane ka sawaal hee nahi rahega. Uthoa talwaar Dharam! Uthao!

Dharam: hamaree baat to suno Veer…ha hamne tumhaare saath aisa kiya per…

Veer was really angry and he didn't want to listen to anything so he attacked him with his sword and Dharam quickly defended himself but didn't hit back. He tried stopping Veer but he was too enraged and continued attacking him.

Veer: tumhaare liye to hamesha Aryanagar ka kanoon or oskee parampara hee mayeene rakhte the na? dusro pe hamesha apne aadesh sunaate aaye ho tum (he kept attacking Dharam who fell back onto the sofa whilst defending himself) Tumne hamesha mere saath aisa kiya hai Dharam per me kabhi nahi soch sakta tha ke meree zindagi kee sabse bari khushi bhi cheen loge mujhse. Tumhaare seene me dil hai ke nahi?

Dharam: (pushed Veer off him and he stood up holding onto his wound again as it hurt with the jerk) Ham maante hai Veer per hamaree baat suno. Maana ke hamne yeh sab kiya tumhaare saath per os waqt or is waqt me bohat farak hai.

Veer: sach kaha tumne, os waqt or is waqt me bohat farak hai. Os waqt me tumhe maaf bhi kardeta lekin is waqt tumne hadd paarkardee or me tumhe maaf nahi karunga

He charged onto Dharam again and attacked him quite hard which made Dharam loose his sword and Veer kicked him and threw him onto the steps. Now he was about to attack Dharam again when Sakshi came from behind and held onto Veer's hand.

Sakshi: (angry tears) Ruk jaaye Bhaiyya!

Veer stopped and stared at an alarmed Sakshi while she sat down and got hold of Dharam. Then she glared back at Veer for performing such an act.

Sakshi: Yeh aap kya karahe hai Veer Bhaiyya? Aap aise Dharam Bhaiyya pe vaar karahe the jese koi hosh hee nahi tha aapko. Aap os bhai ko maar rahe the jinhone her waqt sirf hamare baare me socha or sirf hamaree khushiyo ke liye jiya. Jinke liye hamaree choti si choti bhi peeraaye maayeene rakhti thi or jinhone hamare upar kabhi bhi koi aach nahi aane dee, aap os bhai ko aise maar rahe the? Kese kar sakte hai aap aisa? Kese?

Veer: (had tears in his eyes and kept staring at Sakshi with hurt written clearly in them)

Sakshi: Bhaiyya! (she was shocked, whilst Dharam sits with his head down feeling really upset about the hurtful words coming out of Veer's mouth)

Veer: ha Sakshi, tumhe zaroor hairaanee hogi lekin tum jis insaan ko itna mahaan samajh rahee ho wo darasal me itna chalsaaz niklega tumhe koi andaza nahi. Isne mere jine ka maqsad hee cheen liya mujhse. Meree zindagee kee sabse bari khushi hee cheen li mujhse. Sab kuch khatam kardiya, or kyu, kyu ke wo oske or is Aryanagar kee parampara ke khilaaf tha. Sakshi Dharam ne kabhi bhi hamaree khushiyo ke baare me nahi socha. Hamesha se oske liye yeh Aryanagar hee sab kuch tha.

He turns away from them and begins crying silently. Dharam takes in everything he said and then gets up holding onto his wound and groaning slightly. Then he went and put his hand on Veer's shoulder.

Dharam: ham maante hai Veer ke hamne tumhaare saath bura kiya hai. Lekin os waqt jab hamne yeh faisla liya tha, tab hamare saamne wohi sacchai thi lekin, yakeen maano ab hame samajh me aagaya hai ke hamne bhool ki thi.

Veer turns around and looks at Dharam but then turns away again in disagreement.

Dharam: ham jaangaye hai ke insaan oskee oonch neech se nahi pehchaana jaata balke oske sanskaaro se pehchaana jaata hai. Hamne jo tumhaare saath kiya oske liye hame maaf nahi karna chaheeye lekin phir bhi ham (folds his hands in front of Veer) tumse maafi maangte hai Veer. Hame maaf kardo, hamne tumhaare saath bilkul theek nahi kiya or ab yakeen maano ham sab theek kardenge. Ham…ham…(he began shaking to and fro as the exhsuation and the injury had made him weak by now. He kept blinking as he saw black spots and soon he felt as if he was going to faint and was falling)

Sakshi: Bhaiyya!!

She quickly came to grab Dharam and Veer also turned around with her shriek and was alarmed to find Dharam falling. He quickly grabbed hold of the unconscious Dharam and carried him towards the bed and then asked Sakshi as to what happened. Then he was stunned to find blood coming out from his stomach and he asked her again as to what was going on. He didn't waste anymore time and called for the vaid.

The vaid came soon and examined Dharam's wound and said that he had been careless about it and it was still fresh due to which it opened again. He has sealed it and now with proper rest he would be fine. After he left Veer sat down by Dharam's side and kept wondering about everything Dharam said and then his state. He attacked him when he was already wounded and still he didn't say anything.

Veer: yeh kese huwa Sakshi?

Sakshi: hame khud pata nahi bhaiyya. Jab ham Bhavanipur gaye the to waha pe pura ek din or puree raat ke baad waapis laute the mahal or jab laute the to aisee hee haalat thi. Onhone hame kuch nahi bataya or phir waapis kahi jaane ke liye nikal gaye. Or phir aaj itne dino ke baad waapis laute hai. Pata nahi kya karahe hai yeh.

Veer: (sat with his arms folded across his chest thinking about what Sakshi just told him) to iska matlab ke wo jo pura din or raat gayab tha, osme yeh haadsa huwa hai. Per kya huwa tha? Kese pata chalega (he gets up and begins pacing)

Sakshi:

ab yeh to Dharam bhaiyya hee bata sakte hai.

Veer: yah to wo jo Dharam ke saath tha. Per yeh kese pata kare?

Sakshi: Inke saath to Rajkumari Sia thi. (thinks about that) ha hame Bhimji ne aake kaha ke kese dono subhe aaye the onke ghar or phir Rajkumari Sia ko forun Sumaina waapis jaana para to Dharam bhaiyya waapis lautgaye mahal.

Veer: Rajkumari Sia? (finds it surprising) Dharam onke saath kese tha? Jab ke wo onse kabhi sidhee mooh baat nahi karta tha to pura din or puree raat oske saath?

Sakshi: Acha? (smiles) kamaal hai. Wo to hamse hamesha sirf onkee baat hee karte the ke Rajkumari Sia aisee hai or wesee hai. Yaha tak jab ham Bhavanipur gaye the to onhone khaas tore pe Rajkumari Sia or onke chacha chachi ko bulaaya tha mahal khaane pe. Or phir wo khud onke ghar bhi gaye the onse milne.

Veer: (he nearly looses balance with disbelievment) mujhe to yakeen nahi horaha ke tum wahi Dharam kee baat karahee ho jo kisee se bhi baat nahi karta tha kyu ke wo oske laayak nahi tha or yaha pe itna kuch hogaya or mujhe pata hee nahi chala. (taps his finger on the side of his head) zaroor isme koi baat hai. Hame pata lagana hoga Sakshi ke aakhir dono ke beech hai kya

Sakshi: lekin bhaiyaa ham aisa kese karenge?

Veer: Oske liye ek yojna hai mere paas. Tum bus dekhtee jao. Dharam ne bhale mere saath jo bhi kiya ho, per mujhe yeh sab sunke yeh ehsaas huwa hai ke ose sacche dil se pachtaawa hai. Mere liye bhale wo kuch nahi karpaya lekin me oske liye zaroor kuch karunga.

Saying that he leaves to return later when Dharam has gained counsciousness. He begins thinking about his plan and gets down to putting it under action. First thing he needs to do is find out what Sia feels about Dharam so he writes a letter informing her that Dharam's health has really deterioted going to worse. Her reactions would tell it all. He sent the letter immediately.

Later on Dharam gained consciousness and saw Veer sitting there. Dharam began apologising again and Veer said he doesn't need to say anything further as he knows now how sorry he is. He has forgiven him and now just wants him to recover.

Sumaina

Next morning the letter arrived and Sia was surprised to find it addressed to her. At first her heart was elated thinking that Dharam must have written to her and she quickly began scanning it. She was horrified by the end and tears appeared in her eyes. She felt bad that she shouldn't have had let him go back by himself like that but she had her own problems. She had to go and see him immediately.

S.M: Kya huwa Sia beti?

Sia: Pitaji hame forun Aryanagar jaana hoga

S.M: Aryanagar? Aise achanak kyu? Kya huwa?

Sia: Wo ham aapko waapis aane ke baad bataenge. Filhaal aap hame aagya dijye.

She begins to get ready to leave and the maharaj has no choice but to let her go but he keeps wondering what must have happened. Then he reads the letter and begins thinking that why has Sia become so excited about the condition. Then he thought he would ask when she shall return.

Aryanagar

It's in the afternoon and Dharam is still kept in his room lying on his bed. He feels perfectly fine but Veer has made sure he doesn't get up by himself and doesn't roam around. But he was feeling hungry and the daasis were also not around so he got off the bed and sneaked out of his room making sure no one was around to see him. He forgot he was not in the right state or appropriately attired to roam around the mahal but then again he was the maharaj and he didn't really need to think about those things. He was bare chested as his wound was bandaged and needed to be healed and he forgot to cover up before leaving.

He managed to sneak around until finally he reached the kitchen and got satisfied. Then he searched for something appropriate to eat when one of the daasis came and exclaimed seeing an intruder.

Daasi: Aaaaaaaaah!!!!!!!!

That startled Dharam and he slipped crashing against a table throwing a whole barrel full of flour on him. He was shocked to stand there fully cover from head to toe in flour. The daasi didn't recognise him obviously and now he was completely going to be unidentified.

Daasi: Chor! Chor!

Dharam: sssh… (he tries to silence the overwhelmed daasi) are ham koi chor nahi. Suno ham…

Daasi: Maharaj aap? (then slightly bows and puts her eyes towards the ground) shama kijye mujhe maharaj, magar aapko maine pehchaana nahi. Lekin aap yaha aise…

Dharam: ha wo ham…(fumbles with words as finds it awkward standing like that) ham wo…hame bhook lagi thi to ham khaane ke liye…

Daasi: Maharaj aapka khaana me abhi tayaar hee karahee thi. Dairee ke liye shaama chahti hu, aap waapis chalye me abhi laatee hu.

Dharam walks out feeling quite stupid and now he has to reach his room without getting caught. Then the worst happened when he stepped out in the corridor and saw Sia walking inside towards his direction. He quickly hid behind the pillar alarmed to see her here.

Dharam: Rajkumari Sia yaha kya karahee hai? (peeks out to see what she is doing) ab ham aise kese jaaenge.

Sia was walking with haste worried about Dharam and was getting near where he was when Veer came in between and Dharam sighed.

Veer: Rajkumari Sia aap yaha? (hiding his secret smile)

Sia: Ham wo…darasal hame wo…(pauses thinking not to reveal about receiving the letter as it would just make her look desperate and she had to hide it) ji ham wo darasal Maharaj ko dekhne aaye the. Hamne suna ke onkee tabyat theek nahi hai to isliye ham…

Veer: Ha onkee tabiyat bohat kharaab hogayee hai. Or aap ne accha kiya jo yaha aagayee... (his heart was jumping as he got his answer. She also had feelings for him) Per aapko kese pata chala ke onkee tabiyat theek nahi?

Dharam: (thinking in his mind) Rajkumari Sia istarha hame milne aayee? Lekin onhe pata kese chala?

Sia: Wo ham…darasal jab wo Bhavanipur se nikle the to kaafi buri haalat me the isliye ham yaha aaye dekhne ke liye ke theek hogaye ke nahi.

Dharam smiled at her gesture and kept staring at her.

Veer: Accha…kya aap ko pakka yakeen hai ke yahi waje hai? (he had this naughty glint in his eyes and she looked at him with horror) me…mera matlab hai ke kahi kuch or waje to nahi jiske liye aap yaha Aryanagar aayee hai?

Sia: (outraged) Maaf kijyega Rajkumar Veer per hame kabhi bhi kahi yu bematlab jaane kee aadat nahi. To ham kehrahe hai ke ham Maharaj Dharam kee tabiyat dekh ne aaye hai to wohi karne aaye hai.

Veer: Theek hai, theek hai (laughs) me to aise hee mazaak karaha tha. Chalye me aapko oske kamre tak lejaata hu

Both of them began going and Dharam shook his head in horror as now how will he be able to go there with her being there. He cursed Veer for doing that and then searched for another option and moved from there. Some how he had to reach his room before Sia and Veer did.

When they did enter his room they found he was not there and were alarmed. Veer began thinking where could he be and then he told Sia to remain here and he'll go and search for him.

She agreed and then waited around his room feeling a bit awkward being there and it was something really personal to Dharam and it was the first time she was in his room. She was looking around when she was interrupted by a loud crashing noise and she turned towards the window and was shocked to find a funny man covered in flour crouching on the floor and trying to get up.

Sia: Chor! Chor!

He became alert and realised she was already in his room. Now he was definitely in trouble and in an embarrassing state. How would he tell her that he was Dharam but then again he had to before she caused attention?

Dharam: (coming towards her quickly) Sunye wo ham…

Sia: hamare paas mat aana (she began moving back and now started attacking him with things lying around) Tumhaaree himmat kese huwi yaha aane kee

He attempted to dodge the things which were being charged at him. And with that he tried explaining to Sia but she was not prepared to listen and eventually both of them got out of the room with her still attacking him. Then a sainik saw this and came running. Dharam saw it and panicked and just ran away from there before he could see him. Sia ordered the sainik to go after the thief before he got away.

Dharam kept running with the sainiks chasing him around the mahal. He couldn't believe he was running around like this in his own mahal and now he was searching for Veer to get him out of this mess. Only he could do it.

Veer was still searching for Dharam and he heard the commotion in the mahal and he looked out to see what was happening. He saw the flour covered man running away from the sainiks which perplexed him as to who was that. He quickly went out and ran into Sia.

Sia: Acha huwa Veer aap milgaye. Mahal me ek chor ghus gaya hai or wo Maharaj Dharam ke kamre me aaya tha. Zaroor phirse wo daakoo hoga.

Veer: (taking out his sword) Wo jo bhi ho ab wo Veer se nahi bach sakta. Mere hote huwe yaha daakoo to kya, chor tak nahi aasakta.

Then he ran in the direction where everyone was running. Dharam was getting tired and decided to make a u turn and enter through the secret passageway back inside the mahal. This was getting ridiculous. He quickly hid behind the wall and waited for the sainiks to go the other way and once they did he sighed and then began going back that way back inside. But one sainik spotted him and the chase began again making Dharam run really fast.

He lost balance and he crashed against the one and only Veer.

Veer: Aaj tujhe mujhse koi nahi bacha sakta

Dharam: Acha huwa Veer tum hame milgaye (got up and quickly hid behind Veer) ab tum hee hame is jhajhal se bacha sakte ho

Veer: (eyes popping out in disblief) Dharam…Yeh tum ho…Yeh kya haalat bana rakhee hai?

Dharam: Wo ham tumhe baad me bataenge lekin pehle hame yahase lechalo, isse pehle ke saare sainik hame dekhle

Veer looked over to see if any sainiks were coming their way and when the coast was clear he took Dharam with him and then went back inside the mahal through the secret passageway.

When they returned to Dharam's room Sia saw him and shrieked again.

Sia: Tum…tum waapis aagaye? (grabbing onto something to attack) is baar to ham tumhe nahi chorenge (she was about to attack and Dharam hid himself with his hands to prevent the attack when Veer came in)

Veer: Rukjaaye Rajkumari Sia! (walked towards them and took the goblet out of her hands) darasal yeh koi chore nahi. Yeh Dharam hai

Sia: kya? (she can't believe it looking at his state) Lekin yeh aise…hamara matlab hai ke wo…(she felt too foolish by her actions and looked away hiding her flushed face)

Dharam: Darasal maafi hame maangni chaheeye. Wo ham aise aaye ke aap darr gayee or phir wo sab or yeh aate ne bhi hame aise daraona kardiya or phir…(he bit his tongue as he was speaking too much making the situation worse) Ab…ab hame…ham nahake aate hai.

Saying that, he quickly left from there, to save himself from further embarrassment. Sia was also embarrassed and she decided she would wait for him in the other hall until he got changed. Veer just laughed at both their innocent behaviour and was having fun on their expense. Teasing them would be the best thing he would have done in a long time.

The main hall

Sia sat waiting for the daasi to come and inform her about Dharam being ready to see her now. She was impatient for some reason and she didn't know was it because of the fluttering sensation in her stomach about meeting Dharam again or was it just because she made the wrong decision of coming here.

Veer: Acha huwa Rajkumari Sia aap mujhe yu akele me hee milgayee. Aapse bohat zaroori baat karni hai

Seeing Veer's serious face made her tensed as to what could be wrong. She waited for him to continue.

Veer: darasal yeh Dharam ke baare me (he made a really over melodramatic sad face) Vaidji ne kaha hai ke oska jo zakhm hai oska asar oske dimag tak pohoch gaya hai to wo ut pataang harkate karega

Sia: yeh aap kya kehrahe hai?

Veer: Pehle maine bhi yehi kaha tha or vishwaas nahi kiya. Lekin jab apni aakhose dekha mujhe yakeen hone laga. Or aaj aapne nahi dekha kese bandoro ke jaise bhaag raha tha or wo bhi apne hee mahal me. (with the corner of his eye he checked her reactions and when saw she was buying it he continued) Mujhe to lagta hai ke oskee haalat waake me kharaab hai.

Sia: lekin…(desperately turns towards him) lekin onka ilaaj to bataya hoga na vaidji ne

Veer: bataya hai na lekin pata nahi koi ise anjaam de paaehga bhi ke nahi

Sia: Kyu?

Veer: (sighs and gets up) ab kya batao aapko, baat hee kuch aisee hai. Vaidji ne kaha hai ke Dharam ka bus ek hee ilaaj hai. Subhe shaam oska acchi tarhase khayaal rakhna or ose koi bhi kaam akele mat karne dena. Magar koun karega oske liye yeh. Mera matlab hai ke kese karenge ham sab jab kitna kuch karna hai. (he kept looking over his shoulder for her reaction)

Sia: Kyu nahi karsakte, zaroor karsakte hai. Ham rakhenge onka khayaal

Veer: Ji aap?

Sia: (fumbles) ha…hamara matlab hai ke ham yaha aaye hee hai to ham rakhsakte hai onka khaayaal (gets up and stands next to Veer) aap chinta mat kijye Rajkumar Veer. Ab ham sab kuch sambhaal lenge

Saying that she leaves and Veer smiles as his plan worked.

Veer: Wahi to me chahta hu ke aap sab kuch sambhaal le.

He also walks out of the hall to go and watch the show.

Dharam's room

Dharam has showered and has managed to change properly into his princely robes again. Now he is just putting on his accessories when out of no where a monkey comes and grabs his wrist band and runs away. Dharam becomes alert and screams after it and begins chasing it.

Dharam: Dekho ham tumse kehrahe ke hamara kalai band waapis dedo

The monkey made funny faces at him and just began running. Sia just arrived and saw him running around trying to communicate with the monkey and Veer's words were making more sense.

Dharam: agar tumne hame waapis nahi diya to phir bohat bura hoga tumhaare liye (then he stopped and began thinking) kya karahe ho Dharam aise ek Bandar ke saath jhagra karahe ho. Sambhaalo apne aapko

Veer: (comes from behind and startles Sia) Dekha aapne? Dekha kese os Bandar ke saath chua billi ka khel khel raha hai. Ab to aapko yakeen hogaya hoga na

Sia is too much dazzled to answer him and just shakes her head. Veer hides his mischievous grin as things were going in place. Then Sia quickly went inside to grab hold of Dharam before his condition became worse.
