I have no love lost for Shamit as he was not my favourite. He was not a very exceptional singer. Not consistent. And did not have endearing traits because of his attitude and machinations. Too egoistic. Too manupulative.
Still, I think Ila Arun should resign a Headmistress. I did see some rude comments about her in another discussion and I think it was not nice. The reason I feel she should go is that she displays two weak traits:
1. Partiality. The way she cried and expressed her emotions at Shamit's departure was, for lack of other adjectives, not in good taste. It is human to have favourites. But as the headmistress she cannot be so public about it as it comprises her integrity. As a headmistress she is expected to all students as equal and infact pay attention and encourage the weakest more.
2. Lack of Decision making capacity: She goes with the flow: She has shown a preponderance to either "Save" those students who were praised by the judges or totally rely on her faculty. She does not take any decisions of her own. This was amply displayed in the episode where she started out to save Qazi, pondered over Shamit but readily agreed with her faculty's decision to save the newbie. Anybody who has seen Apprentice will know that Donald Trump takes his own decision and very often overrides his own advisors. He only takes their advice but relies on his own judgement.
There were two wrong decisions taken by the faculty and Ila Arun las week:
1. They should have saved either Qazi (my first choice) or Shamit
2. They made Arijit the top student instead of Arpita.
So if either the faculty had saved Shamit or made Arpita the top student, Shamit would not have been out.
That simple my friends. Don't blame Arijit. If the faculty and Ila Arun showed double standards in their decisions last week as mature adults why blame Arijit for taking some lessons from them?
And please, I ask the faculty and Ila Arun, please don't show such shock and sorrow over the departue of Shamit. Not ased on your above decision. It stinks of DOUBLE STANDARDS.
Next time take the correct decisions
