Nice discussion

1) I never claimed that only a trained singer is a good singer.

If you did read my other topic - My thoughts on Arpita, Mona, Qazi etc - you would realize that Rex is my favorite singer! Although he is untrained, his voice range is fabulous, he has depth, charisma and screen presence. In fact, HE is my FAVORITE singer and I wholeheartedly wish that he wins this show! Thus, I am definitely not baised towards trained singers...lolzzz

2) You claim that Arijit held the mike away to mask his mistakes.

I am sorry...then I can also claim that Qazi chooses easy songs to mask his mediocre talent...... 😊.....it DOES take a talented person to render difficult songs.....it takes a grasp over rhythm, tone and sur to be a good singer!

3) My comparison with SRK was certainly correct in my opinion...I DO NOT consider SRK to be the most talented performer.....and unless its a YASH CHOPRA or JOHAR OR MIRZA love story, he has little star power.......else why should Josh or Ashoka or Paheli not do as well as DTPH or K3G or KKHH etc? He is a monotonous performer who prefers remaining secure in his No 1 position than take risks to become a more wholesome actor....he is the best star, NOT the best actor! Ditto for Qazi - certainly the most charismatic, but not even close to being the best performer!

4) You claim that talent can be learnt, but body language can't?

I beg to differ.....there IS a difference between a natural performer and a rehearsed one.....talent is as inborn as charisma....in fact, it's easier to polish your body language than it is to grasp the finer nuances of singing......and Shamit, Mona and Arijit have improved in this area too!

5) "They say we can sing tough songs, faculty says yes they can but the mass voting says they dont want them to do that. Then whats the use of doing that and they are the ones who says Qazi is not learned enuff but if his besura singing is liked by 3 million people and their strong alaaps dont even go thru the tymapanic membranes I think they should try some peppy numbers instead of those tough ones and develop some body language instead of copy pasting Bosco's steps; audience is neither deaf nor blind they will surely accept them. If they cant see or hear what u are trying to show and make them hear its not their fault the fault lies within u"

In essence, the talented singers are being punished for being able to sing those hard songs........only racy, peppy numbers are considered music....man, o, man, the beautiful composers and musicians of yesterera must be turning over the graves after reading this.......

Well, well, as long as the janta prefers style over substance, nothing can be done.......I wish only Qazis enter these talent hunt shows...the ones with the voice should stay farrr away! 😕

That's the reality of the music industry today...its all about the packaging and x factor. Talent takes a backseat.

I think Rex is one FG student that has combo of both singing talent and charisma. He is def not a perfect singer but certainly a good one.

There we are discussing Fame Gurukul not SRK. Mind you SRK is what he is due to mass. Ashoka , Paheli were not hit because it does not appeal to masses. Only classes liked these kind of movies but SRK was good and the reviews were very good.

Now for Qazi he connect to masses who wants pure entertainment. Mass requires paisa vasool. Masses under go lots of tension in their day to day activites and they want a resource to unwind themselves. they want a good singer and a performer as well. If FG wants qazi to be out why did they select him in the first place. These people who call themselve the singing sensation (classes )or whatever are very business minded they want revenue so they want qazi.

am I becoming very sentimental? Any le us only discuss the contestant and their stress and not the film stars

cmon ppl
y will arijit hold the mike away when he does not make any mistakes.
have u ever seen the judges comment on his singing, sur ect ect
may be they commented on his performance or mike position, but never on his singing
anyway i think he is the best and deserves to win
if not, he will make it big in the music industry some day

There is no doubt that Arijit is the best singer out of Kazi and Rex. The basic 101 of Music is "sur". Rex and Kazi may be good performers but they sing "besura". How would we like it if Sonu Nigam or Shaan or some other singer sang besura?? They will not survive in the industry no matter how great a performers they may be!!!

Even Pandit Jas raj was willing to take Arijit as his student so you know Arijit sings well.

Also, Mona sang the Parineeta song so perfectly ! I thought that she is a better singer than Ruprekha, Shamik, Rex and Kazi.

It's stupid for Fame Gurukul to ask their peers to vote because the peers will want to get rid of their competition so they will choose someone who is not good..

By the way how did Arijit get picked yesterday? Did the Faculty save him?

I think he deliberately does it when the song is difficult somewhere so that the mistakes are not caught. If the song does not reach only the judges, how can they judge it to be 100% correct. Mere by the name of the Song Vande Mataram or A. R. Rahman's song one cannot judge the song being sung well. On the other hand QAZI SANG 100% correct. I am also a ' MUSIC LEARNT' One become perfect only with REGULAR VIGOROUS PRACTICE ' RIYAZ' AND NOT JUST LEARNING MUSIC. And choosing a difficult song does not mean you are a perfect singer. Who asked them to take such songs when they cannot give 100% ??

Do you mean Qazi is better then Arijit?
