Qazi is very charismatic, but Shamit, Arijit, and Rex (is he still in?) are definitely more talented!
Personally, I'd prefer talent to charisma.....ultimately, one has to remember that this contest deals with singing.....you may have the most entertaining body language, but it's of no use when you are behind the mike as a playback singer if you have a mediocre voice! Qazi belongs in this category - he is sweet (probably the sweetest guy), charming, and a VERY GOOD ACTOR , but he is certainly a very very mediocre singer - should he then represent the country as one of the best talents? NO! Unless he buckles up and delivers something extraordinary, he deserves to be out of this competition....come on, Mona is out before QAZI? This makes no bloddy sense.......😭
On the contrary, Arijit has a SPECTACULAR RANGE AND DEPTH! Shamit's voice is near perfect - I believe that the judges are more rude to Shamit than Qazi....I recall that Javed Saheb (who irritates the hell outta me, btw!) did not appreciate his flawless rendition of KAVAA KAVAA .....clearly displays his prejudice!
And favoring Qazi's PBDHH over Arijit's VANDE MANTARAM was a pathetic decision.........accepted that Arijit's mike position faltered a little in the beginning, but keeping in mind the complexity of the song, his expressiveness, passion, this criticism could have easily been overlooked...i totally backed the faculty's angst over it......anyone could have sung PBDHH, but only Arijit (and maybe Shamit) could have sung Vande Mantaram so impeccably!
Qazi is like Shah Rukh Khan - highly entertaining, but certainly not the most talented........and, ironically, the audience prefers fluff to substance! 😕Please remember that I am certainly not against Qazi - if he awes me in a difficult composition in the coming weeks, I might bump him as my second favorite....but it would be wrong for him to win this contest when he is certainly not the best SINGER currently!
Yep - at these final stages of the contest, I back talent!
