IMPORTANT: REGARDING UPDATES

Hi all,

First, I know many members here have very strong opinions regarding Fame Gurukul. That is welcomed as this forum is open to all healthy discussions and debates. However, rude comments and personal attacks targetting updates and updaters will not be allowed here under any circumstance. Our updaters dedicate their time writing detailed updates so everyone can be aware of the happenings in FG. I understand that these updates may not be to your liking at times, but that doesn't mean you should rudely insult the efforts of the writer, telling them to 'stop updating' or calling their work 'pathetic and biased'.

We all have our opinions and its hard to be unbiased at times. Many updates reflect the opinions/feelings of the writer. I think many of you will agree its hard to write in a clear, objective matter. Finally, if you can't appreciate the effort, at least don't denounce it.

If you have a problem or complaint with an update, please send a PM to the moderator or viewbie of this section or a global moderator. The dev team for the FG section is below:

Sonynyu it is good of you to have put this up.It was the condescending tone of the message, which annoyed me and is all to Common Comments such as, "Just write plain update don't write your comments....". May I ask why??? Well, it is a free world & we are all allowed to express our free & honest opinion but hurting someone's feeling is just not acceptable. Guys just drop the smug knowingness & arrogant attitude!

I'm not a regular here but take a peek at Sakshi's updates & I think that she does a wonderful job of updating. Well, If you don't like Sakshi's update don't read it. Nobody is forcing you to read it. Do as you please, and try to treat everyone else as if they are individuals with a right to their own opinion, and refrain from insulting them. NO ONE will ever have the same opinion as you, so just relax and mind your own business. Maybe try to be polite, too. Maybe your own self worth will start to increase!

It is really sad that masses do not understand music & are getting carried away by Qazi's colorful drama or nautanki on stage & that's why he is getting so many votes. Shakespeare had rightly said....."The character of the mob is fickle"!

My viewes on FG...............

The reality craze is in full force now. FG is a lame attempt towards that. FG thrives on three primary themes: Conflict, Competition and Transformation. The producers of these shows know what works, and it's not a bunch of roommates sitting around singing na na karte pyar tumhe se kar baithe. The casting is done with the goal of creating drama whether it's infighting or a dramatic transformation!

I think there is an element of exploitation in mainstream reality TV, and I think that teens don't see it or really experience the full impact until the show airs. Teens don't get the implications of being on television in a format where people can start message boards and rip their real character to shreds. They are just figuring out how to deal with the real drama in their lives never mind the articially induced drama created by TV producers!

if i was a mod, i wud appreciate the updates by aries guy ... but yar, he took advantage of his updates and consistently tried to put qazi down... i just voiced up my opinion cuz that wasn't fair...

sonyuy i appreciate ur views. the only problem I guess was that it was an update section and many of us read it to know the update only and not the analysis any contestant of FG. So it was a request from us that update section will contain the update only like what someone sang and what judge said everything which is in the 30 min or 1 hour show but not the personal remarks by any of us. For personal remarks the whole forum is there. We all appreciate the updaters efforts but u should appreciate our view too. Coz in updates if u write personal comments it may make us think may be judges said this or may be faculty said this. So it wont be a very genuine update then which will force us to think something which didnt happen in the show at all. So Sony it will be nice if u give another instruction that updates will contain WHAT HAPPENED IN THE SHOW ONLY AND NOTHING BRACKETED because for the BRACKETED part the whole forum is there. When our comments are not included in the show why to isert it in the update of the show and if we think it necessary then lets change the title from UPDATES to UPDATES WITH CRITICS.

I agree. The updaters here are not paid to do it - they put in their time and do us a favor. If anyone has objections - they must just skip it and not be so critical.

I am writing from Singapore. Never fail to watch Famegurukul though it is very late for us (Singapore is 2.5 hours ahead of India).

I would like to express my shock and dissapointment on viewing the Famegurukul concert last Saturday.

It was very clear to me as a viewer that either the "faculty" or "Sony Channel" or whoever it was who organised the show, was shamelessly and unabashedly promoting Shamit, Arpita and Arijit who seem to be their favourites.

Rooprekha and Qazi were completely sidelined in this show. Most if the songs were sung by this trio - Shamit, Arijit and Arpita. Even the finale song of "Aasma Ke Paar" was sung mostly by this trio with the camera panning these trio mostly.

Also from the politicking in the gurukul, it is very clear that Shamit and Arpita have an unholy alliance and already consider themselves the Fame Jodi or think thet are entitled to it. However the faculty and channel fail to recognise that both Shamit and Arpita have never been consistent. Also each memeber of the trio was embarrasingly, completely "Besura" during the concert.

I would like Sony Channel and the Famegurukil team to know that please don't think that audiences are "Dumb" and take them for granted. I am very sure that I speak for the multitude when I say that Famegurukul Team / Sony Channel is very obviously promoting the trio of Shamit, Arpita and Arijit. If this conclusion is drawn by my other co-viewers than the outcome of this contest is very predictable and no longer worth viewing.

Also, do we see Qazi being given the same treatment as Ravinder Ravi of Indian Idol. Despite audience popularity and being constantly voted in by the public he was deliberately sidelined by the Indian Idol team and Sony Channel. To this day Ravinder Ravi is given stepmotherly treatment and sidelined in all Indian Idol promotions and events.

I hope Sony Channel and Famegurukul will respect the public's intelligence and wishes and play fair in running the Famegurukul contest.

I have already e-mailed this feedback in stronger language to famegurukul official id, but felt I should share this on a larger forum. I am not a regular member and this is a one time posting to express disgust and dissapointment.
