Hi guys...wanted to start a conversation about criteria prior to all the contestants being announced so no biases come into play..
So the question is....what will you look for/want in your new Fame Jodi contestant?
In FJ 1..as we all know, a strange thing happened.. Two people with contrary (not complimentary) persona were declared winners. I couldn't put my finger on why the viewers picked this pair but that's what happened.
In my opinion, first and foremost the individual should be a TRAINED singer. The intrigue of such shows is that you want to support legitimate candidates who are focused upon having music and singing as their career and have worked hard towards that goal. For example, if I go to a science competition for budding scientists, I want to see and support those who have the fundamentals mastered in the field, have shown the dedication and commitment towards that goal and are looking to refine their talents with expert guidance. Similarly, here I want to see serious students of the trade encouraged.
I've heard people's reasons such as "s/he is a nice person…looks good…is down to earth…etc." However, this is not a contest about finding a friend or a life partner. It's about encouraging real talent who have and will continue to have the respect of their peers (who really are the best judge in determining how talented an individual is), the judges the music industry and the Junta.
That said, here is what I will look for (in order)
Singing ability, years of training, versatility, Respect of peers, Judge's impressions, stage presence, intelligence (answering questions on stage).
What is your criteria going to be?
