As far as the contestants go:

They should be singers ! Of course, with some style and personality .. Coz the first appearance does matter ... But that shouldn't be THE criteria ...

And for the channel/program coordinator:

First, the voting system should be changed from being able to vote for a week to only being able to vote 2 hours after the show or at the max a day after the show ... Just like American Idol .. That way , I think, we can minimize the -ve effect of multiple voting ...

second, I wanna have a "knowledgable" person to choose these contestants ...

third, They should not emphasize and where they come from ... That way we won't have any "regionalism" ... coz I seriously had enough of that!

fourth, i would like better people to judge ... coz in the end whoever wins will be in good hands and get better opportunities even after the show is done ...

for me the person foremost must have talent!! ie needs to know how to sing, needs to b versatile/confident/good understandin of music-not necessarily classically trained or untrained

performance must be sound too-audience interaction is midway on list-wen doin gala rounds

appearance is quite impt-but not a major factor. they have to be pleasant to look at- not necessarily a brad pitt etc

the person has to be a honest/nice person in the academy-not someone who backstabs/who is greedy to win- they need to play the game carefully and have to aim to win( without cumin across as a villain...in the show)

defo no regionalism in the show!!hopefulli!!!

well my criterion will be my own two eyes and own two ears and nothing else.I will choose someone who will sound good and look pleasant to me.I am a very simple person and i would like to hear a pair that will soothe me and calm down my nerves after a hard day's work.I am relying on MY ears because its ultimately who that r going to hear the songs of my favorite and its going to be me who is going to earn my husband's hard earned money to buy the CD.
I don't give a damn abot whether the person is trained or not,some of the greatest singers like Kishore Kumar were untrained.india is not a rich country and maybe some good singer does not have the resources to train in music,does that mean that he can't dream of music career because he is poor.what matters to me is the dedication and hard work.

Respect from the peers is important as long as those peers are established people and r giving their genuine opinion and not an opinion because they r jealous of u ,percieve u as a threat or hate u for being more popular then u.In a reality show where the contest is stiff the respect from a peer does not matter to me because all these factors that i just mentioned come into play.
Up till now i think my choices have been very good and i am enjoying the album.
well these r my criterion and i am not ready to debate them with anyone.
