Tips Industries Ltd has signed contracts with three of the top 10 finalists of music show Fame Gurukul on Sony TV - Shamit Tyagi, Mona Bhatt and Arijit Singh.

The company has entered into an Artiste Management Agreement with them under which they will undertake assignments like singing, acting in music videos, albums, films, serials or any other assignments for the company. In case they get good offers from outside they will first have to take the consent of the music company.

Kumar Taurani of Tips refused to reveal the duration of the contracts, saying: "It is something that cannot be disclosed. I can't tell you the number of years for which we have signed them." But it has surely opened new doors for these upcoming singers who couldn't win the Jodi No.1 title that went to Qazi Touqeer and Ruprekha Banerjee.

When asked about the contract, Arijit, an 18-year-old boy from Murshidabad in West Bengal, sounded upbeat and said: "I am very happy with this contract. They have promised us five albums in the next five years. But it doesn't mean that we cannot work outside the company.

"We just have to inform Tips. For example, if I get an offer and decide to sing, I will have to inform the company about it. See, I am doing shows organized by other companies." Shamit, who is 26 and finished his graduation from Kirori Mal College, Delhi, was more discreet and said: "According to the contract, I can't have a personal album; otherwise I am allowed to do playback singing for films and take up other assignments - but, of course, with the consent of Tips."

"I can tell you it's like a dream come true and I would like to be associated with Tips forever. I want the company to do well through me because if the company does well, it will trust me and give me more opportunities."

The three have been busy with stage shows because according to their initial contract with Tips, they were not supposed to take up any new assignments for three months after the Fame Gurukul finale.

HERE MY ONE GOES ::

New Delhi's Mona Bhatt only went once to the Danger Zone in Fame Gurukul. That was a one way ticket to the outside for the sweet dreamy Mona. Unlucky as Mona was, the departure of Anubhav, just a day prior to her elimination proved to be a big reason in Mona's half hearted performance that day. Anubhav Suman of Ghaziabad is a boy who Mona knows for almost two years and the two have become close buddies in the Gurukul leading to rumors about a budding romance between them. In my view I guess Shamit/ Arijit are more lovey dovey than Mona/ Anubhav. Coming back to Mona's performances, it was clear from the very beginning that this girl showed promise. Shy and inhibited Mona had a mellifluous voice which never failed to touch our hearts. Mona's voice showed its superiority over Arpita Mukherjee during the song "Baras jaa e badal baras jaa" She was even made the favorite student that week. "Suraj hua madhyam" sent Anubhav to the danger zone. He was no match for Mona who held steady to her notes. "Ab ke sajan saawan mei" was as honey like her. But there was a striking drawback in Mona, As Javed Akhtar had pointed out, Mona never really opened up to any song. All she had to do was to let go and sing. That ultimately came but it was too late. After the Independence day performance of "Dil diya hai jaan bhi denge" bombed, Mona was on danger zone along with Shamit, Arijit and Rex. The faculty did not save her this time leaving her at the mercy of the public and her friends. But she got the support of none. Her Ranbhoomi performance of "Jaadu hai nasha hai, madhoshiyan" made everyone's mouth drop open. Mona looked drop dead gorgeous and delivered the performance which for a while made us forget Bipasha and Shreya Ghosal. I wondered where this charm and body language was for all these days. But Mona had little chance over Rex, who the junta supported and whose no support sent Mona packing her bags out of Gurukul. She came back for a second chance but then there was Rex again. Mona's zenith was the open stage performance of 'Chal Hat', where she rocked. She danced and grooved and connected superbly with the public which mostly comprised of young guys. I believe Mona will make it to fame and that also soon. She is the perfect package- petite, sweet and with a versatile singing talent. All I want to say is: "Choo lo sitaron ko ab dur nahi hai manzil !"
