Yes, but would he go against the might of HP to do that? And for what?

Thread members, any ideas on who it could have been, since there is no Akshaya Patra in CE and someone clearly finances them

Anu could it be Karna's daddy?😆I mean the one who is popularly believed to be Sun God.I guess he must have been some King or Prince of a decent dynasty.May be he helped her for Kunti?Sorry if that is too filmy😆

Hmmm...'Surya' was impossible to do all those without Kunti's help. Kunti herself mentions Surya's failed attempt of convincing Karna through 'dreams'. Had she not informed Surya or discussed with him the same already, how did she know Surya went to Karna which was known only to those two? I dont remember Karna speaking a word related to that to Kunti. So mostly Kunti was the actual person behind it & may be behind food supply too, I guess. As long as she stayed with Vidura, it was not impossible for her to do that through a third & trustworthy person to avoid any doubts, is another possibility we can consider.

The king of Kosala was killed by Abhimanyu on the 13th day. When Krishna, Bhima and Arjun went to kill Jarasandha, they had taken a break at Kosala. These are the only two instances of Kosala that I could find.

You mean she called in a favor, when things got tough? But then why didn't she ask similar help after Lakshagrih, to Surya (help the P's)? WHy choose only these 2 incidents?

How far is Kosala from KuntiBhoj? If the dad was from Kosala, he would have had to come to Kuntibhoj to meet Kunti,rt?

Might of HP? Only MB makes Kurus something invincible & mighty. Historically they were nothing like that. Their importance comes from the way they shaped rituals & philosophical doctrines of those times. Historically Kosala was very big & powerful than Kurus is what I have read.

Kunti didnt have any money though. IP and all its wealth was lost to Dury & Co.

You know what they say in detective stories? Follow the money and the woman. 😆 Any description of what Kunti did during Vana parva other than hang out with the Vidurs?

If we try to trace the money, it leads back to the Yadavas / Angirasas since Dhaumya was Asita's son and Nandagopan's nephew

Kosala - Ambika and Ambalika are frequently referred to as princesses of Kosala in KMG esp in the Niyoga scenes

Btw, this is the description of Durvasa. It does not look like he was repellent. Nothing that a shower, haircut and shave wouldn't solve anyway😆

Once on a time, O king, there appeared before Kuntibhoja a Brahmana of fierce energy and tall stature, bearing a beard and matted locks, and carrying a staff in his hand. And, he was agreeable to the eye and of faultless limbs, and seemed to blaze forth in splendour. And he was possessed of a yellow-blue complexion like that of honey. And his speech was mellifluous, and he was adorned with ascetic merit and a knowledge of the Vedas.

@anu - I don't know what Kunti did during that time. Half of the mysteries of MB will stop revealing themselves at one point - Kunti. I meant, Kunti got money through Vidura from HP only, handed it over to Surya & he gave that to Ps. Money - yeah. But what was the problem in stating if Krishna or others helped them?

Kunti kingdom was roughly today's north west Madhya Pradesh & Kosala was somewhere in the middle of UP. Not so far.
