ek vivaah aisa bhi written update 21 march

episode starts with

suman asks ranveer to come inside and have some snacks and tea. ranveer says he should probably leave as they have stayed here long enough. ranveer calls out to manan.
manan and antara are busy staring at each other and smiling. antara asks manan what did he came for. he says that he wanted to say something but couldnt bring himself to say it. suman enters and sees the two of them staring. suman informs manan that ranveer is waiting and manan leaves. suman points out antara that she didnt even offer anything to eat or drink, neither she cleaned her face. antara feels awkward.

ranveer and manan in car on their way back. manan keeps smiling and ranveer keeps thinking about his conversation with suman.

back at home sindoora is talking to a friend on phone when ranveer arrives and asks for permission to enter. sindoora asks when did he needed permission but now she will need to ask permission to enter ranveer's room. ranveer asks her to sit down and she jokes if he is going to drop some bomb on her. ranveer asks about niharika being right choice or not. he says niharika likes him but he doesnt see her as more than a good friend. sindoora reasons that niharika is perfect match in perspective of being prety, smart, understanding ranveer, and in status as well. ranveer says status doesnt matter but sindoora still says that niharika is perfect life partner for him. But sindoora adds that he is more important and if he finds someone he finds perfect then he can bring that girl in front on her and she will have him marry her for his happiness. ranveer says thanks and love you mom and leaves.

nupur is working in kitchen and wonders about sahil running away from sanjana and manan running towards antara. she thinks of a way to bring the truth out about sanjana and antara. dadi ji comes in and complements the good aroma from food. she wishes to eat something special and this gives nupur an idea to organise a cooking competition between all three daughter-in-laws; sanjana, antara and niharika. dadi ji approves and leaves. nupur gets happy.

kalavati is tensed and talks about how antara and sanjana know nothing about cooking. sanjana taunts and says kalavati said to suman few days ago not to trouble sanjana and antara. to which kalavati says that now she wish she had made them help suman more. sanjana's comments even earns her a smack from kalavati. suman suggests to go with them tomorrow to which kalavati agrees.

next day at mittal house, nupur had chaman get vegetables for the competition. sindoora comments why he brought all sabji-market to which he replies that he only brought sabji and left market. ranveer joins and they laugh about the funny reply. sindoora informs ranveer about cookign competition. ranveer suggests her to be judge. nihari arrives and sindoora asks her to call her mom. our trio arrives and joins sindoora ranveer and niharika. nupur comes in with her walking backward thing again. nupur informs them of cooking competition and that it is dadi ji's wish. she asks them what they will cook to which sanjana and antara had no reply. suman saves them by saying they will do old fashioned outdoor cooking which will give dadi ji feeling of homeliness. ranveer is impressed and praises the idea. nupur adds that suman cannot help sanjana and antara. nupur says she will have the setup done for cooking competition. niharika replies that she will not participate as she has never cooked nor will she cook after marriage, and also discards the idea as she finds that it will create jealousy and complex between daughter-in-laws. sindoora backs her point.
nupur adds that its dadi ji's wishes. ranveer agrees with nupur and says that it doesnt matter if you have help or not, they need to be able to work independently at home as well. niharika says that she dont need to cook to impress dadi ji, that she can buy her a costly gift or treat her in a restaurant. ranveer disagrees and thinks that niharika thinks of easy ways to impress people while suman does everything by her hard work.
ranveer starts comparing suman and niharika in his mind and concludes that suman has right characteristics which should be in an idea daughter-in-law and a wife. suman stares at ranveer.

suman is walking by the pool with dried red chilies and ranveer says they are spicy. suman passes him and slips, ranveer catches her and chilies falls on them like rain. ranveer suman staring at each other and sanjana, antara and niharika watches them in shock.

nupur clicks a photo of suman cooking for sanjana and calls it out to suman that this is considered as helping / cheating. ranveer overhears sindoora instructing niharika on phone and thinks that niharika is cheating by excuse of listening to songs.

nupur adds lots of chili powder in sanjana's pot and mixes it.

hmm so my initial thoughts were right - his decision to marry suman is not down to him having fallen in love with her but her matching the characteristics he wants in his life partner. I quite like the fact that he isn't like any other typical guy that's completely put off by a widow and her old fashioned way of lifestyle... in fact he appreciates it...

as expected, kalawati taught her daughters nothing - I'm surprised antara doesn't know anything, I would have thought she'd be more interested in learning the housework just to be a helping hand to her sister in law... whats her excuse for not helping out?

Very weird girls from middle class family are acting as princesses.
Kalawati talks so much her daughters don't work in big office or are well educated also then how come they are good for nothing...
Like sanjana tried to trap Sahil she must try to do her house chores also.

I agree... I mean in my opinion, every girl regardless of her class/status should at least know the basics of housework i.e. cooking, cleaning - (same thing goes for a guy too as u never know when u have to live alone so knowing the basics can be really helpful)

sanjana is projected as a good for nothing girl as she's too focussed on looking good and chasing rich guys for an easy life...but antara not knowing housework is what surprised me... agreed she's quite clumsy but that shouldn't be used as an excuse for not doing any work and leaving it up to suman to do - I thought antara was the only one in the house besides veer that genuinely cared about suman - u'd think she'd learn just to ease off the responsibilities suman has to fulfil but seems she like her mother and sister was more than happy to relax and let suman do it all.
