So I've been seeing a lot of bashing generally and not just in this show's forum but overall, female characters get bashed quite a bit, but that's another topic.
Anyways, I don't think Geet is wrong. Think about what kind of position she's in. She has a crazy mother in law who seems to have kept her under her thumb for quite some time. She's not a naturally calculating person and doesn't seem to show any interest in that. She just wants a simple life with her kid. When you take a person like Geet who has been raised in the type of environment she seems to have been raised in, where girls don't speak up and argue against what others want, it's difficult to just change on a dime and now start demanding what you want. Yes she should stand up for herself and her kid but she's not going to because that's not fitting the character she's been persented as. It's a lot easier to say you're going to stand up than it is to, especially for a character like this.
On the flip side, she has some sort of feelings for Ranvi so in that she feels guilty as well, that she's done something wrong and as such this her trying to make up for that. I don't know if that makes sense. But she is doing what she thinks is right based on what she knows of the world and her place in it.
The problem here is Ranvi and Gunjan and everyone that's just bending to Gunjan's whim. Gunjan is irrational and compulsive and quite frankly thinks she's smarter than she actually is - again not her fault, this is how her mom raised her and by refusing to let the girl get an education they hurt her even more so of course she's going to illogical. What I don't get is why everyone is just letting her act like her behaviour is completley acceptable. Ranvi of all people should be putting his foot down and saying no this is not happening, Veera and Baldev and their dad should be doing the same but they're not. By allowing her to get away with this irrational behaviour their just adding feul to the fire.
Ranvi and Gunjan shouldn't even be together if I'm honest. She's acting like, she doesn't trust him? What in the world are they even doing together. What kind of love is this that they're showcasing that only knows how to hurt, lie, hide, and lacks any semblance of trust between the two people. Instead of giving into Gunjan's demands and making Geet marry everyone should be more focused on the mess that is this marriage and putting an end to it if it's gotten this bad.
