You have put everything perfectly. I have never really felt that Baldev is in love with Veera. This is one of the reasons I have not been able to connect to most of the scenes. Ofcourse slapstick comedy also takes the essence out of every scene. You genuinely laugh when you see something hilarious. I can't laugh watching lame comedy🥱 I felt Veeba's confessions were pretty boring and even the acting wasn't upto the mark, IMO.
The writers have made Baldev so inconsistent that tomorrow if he leaves Veera for another girl, I would be convinced. 😆
For me the essence of Baldev's character was different. He wasn't a guy who would start dancing like a 2 year old at the drop of a hat🥱 Mind you those scenes looked OTT and somehow Vishal's acting in those scenes looked OTT to me.😛 He did a pretty good job when the character needed to be intense during the confessions.
It looks like a love story of two kids 😳 Many people are enjoying Baldev being portrayed as a comical "Ranvi" and Veeba's comical 'love' story. So I guess the writers have succeeded in pleasing the majority.
Oh b/w it seems to me that Veera is also just crushing on Baldev😆 And yeah, I still rewatch some old Veeba scenes. Baldev was different and I thought I signed up for that when I followed the show regularly post leap including his costumes😆 I so want him to wear those Kurtas and coats/jackets. He has become so boring

I would also like to add that the reason I can ignore all these loopholes is because out of all the love-hate stories that I have experienced so far, VeeBa's has been the most believable. I mean most give me the impression that physical attraction played the biggest role (not the only role though) and at the end of the day I remember those other couples because of the fantastic chemistry (better than VishAna's IMO) that the actors shared (SaRun, GurTi). VeeBa are the first India telly couple and the first love hate jodi that are close to my heart, though I have been crazy for other couples.

Before VeeBa the only couples that used to be close to my heart where the slow burn/matured couples.

Also I guess Baldev is the only non-abusive hero in a love-hate jodi (correct me if I am wrong, I have not followed all shows loyally). He has grabbed her hands a few times but I doubt it hurt her and she in turn has stomped his foot. He has never tried to emotionally attack her either.

All this allows me to forgive the makers. I mean despite the shoddy writing they managed to create VeeBa and cast Vishal, toh saath khoon maaf.😆

If they didn't have Vishal, they would have had nothing. I think having Vishal play Baldev helped to shape the story. Baldev would have still been non-abusive I think. But the fact that it's easy for us to believe that he loves Veera so much and like a guy who is willingly unemployed and at times a bully, is all because of Vishal.

Baldev is non abusive. But he ran behind Veera like a creep, desperate to get married to her when she had clearly warned him many times. He used to annoy her when she didn't want to get married to him. He looked downright cheap in that track.
Abusive side of AYM heroes was annoying. I don't see a difference here. Baldev annoyed her in a different way.
He was as irritating as any of them

I can understand Baldev feelings for Veera ... but I am not just not getting Veera's feelings , is it crush or infatuation or time pass ...

It doesnt feel lk true love to me , and I cannot connect to Veeba scenes much now ... again just my opinion ...
