Enlighten me! In India is it normal to hate your sister in law?

Please understand that I do not mean ANY offence. But I have seen SO many posts that justify Gunjan. Saying she is a WIFE, she deserves Ranvi's attention all the time etc etc. some actually say that shouting at Veera and abusing her is RIGHT? That the way that Gunjan behaved is NORMAL? She is actually a sane person??

When we don't get our way, we ALL come home and trash our house?? We throw things and we speak in a rude and disgusting way to our sister in law? Accuse her of being a problem? We don't discuss it with our husband first? But create a scene in front of the whole family and make sure we get all their attention and sympathy???

Is THAT what you call normal in an Indian household? Is this how ALL women who marry into joint families are supposed to act??

PLEASE enlighten me coz I am totally lost! This is not normal where I come from. We don't think this behaviour is something that people should be congratulated for?? We think such behaviour should cause concern about the mental Health of the person involved. We would be very concerned! Not giving HIGH FIVE to the person who acts this way!!

I am truly DISTURBED by the number of people who appear to think this behaviour is justified? That it is normal even? That being an attention seeking psycho is actually an acceptable thing? To scream at your sister in law and call her names and want her out of the house is normal?? Such CHEAP behaviour is normal? I just don't get it!!

👏👏👏 Well said. This is not how two sister-in-law behaves. Atleast not all the name calling. If Gunjan had so much problem then there is a way to talk not like this

corx it is if the sil is gunjan🤢..even murder is justified if gunjan does it👍🏼

the person at fault is ranvi but ppl blame veera👏

bcoz its her mistake she was born out of wedlock and her father left her her mother died her step mother hated her and her brother brought her up👍🏼

its also veera's fault that gunjan's mother hated her and loved Baldev⭐️

its also veera's fault that ranvi is not taking interest in his wife👏

gunju baby is so justified😭..no1 understands her

YEAH! I forgot that even Bansuri not loving Gunjan is actually Veera's fault too?? I guess it is all Veera's fault? Gunjan is NOT at fault no matter what she does? Even if she kills Veera it will be because she was "in a rage brought on by her Mother not loving her"!! I forgot, that being married means that you have ALL the rights and everyone else has NO rights!!

I guess everyone needs Gunjan's permission now to speak with Ranvi even? Will Gunjan take VEERA's permission to talk to HER brother when they are married? I wonder? I am sure when it comes to GUNJAN, everyone will say it is her RIGHT to be with her brother?? Who is Veera to tell her anything? Baldev's wife? What wife? She is not important. Gunjan is the sister, so she is Most important!!

There is a limit to justifying someone. You can't Always justify someone's cheap acts saying they have Mummy issues! It is NOT logical anymore!!

No, definitely not! this is not what we can call as normal. India's relationships get little complex sometimes coz of the joint family culture, but that doesn't mean all the women will go the Gunjan way... G is a special case, She becomes too obsessed with things she likes. First it was her mother's love and then it was going to Kanneda...!!! She suddenly got enlightened with Ranvi's love for her, and now her current obsession is getting Ranvi's love to the fullest., She's little scary, coz instead of directly speaking to Ranvi about her insecurities she yelled at poor Veera , blaming her of stealing. Ranvi's attention from her.

This can only be solved with a counsellor for her mental issues... Or else she'll drive Veera out the SS family house and then only RIP...! This one show and one character cannot be taken into account to judge entire Indian relationships,,,

Relax, those who think Gunjan is right, are just her FANS! that's why they don't see anything wrong in her.

And even i fail to understand how can they justify such a pathetic behavior towards sister in law! and above ALL, Veera is no other sister in law na?! She is like Ranvi's daughter isn't it?

And its not like ranvi is NOT AT ALL giving attention to Gunjan! But Ganjan wants ALL the attention and that completely DISGUSTING!

Ranvi is married i know, but that doesn't mean he got divorced from all other relations!👎🏼

PS:- and if ranvi is her husband, isn't veera her sis-in-law..? shudn't she respect her as well... doesn't veera respect her? Veera could have also started shouted like a maniac!! did she?🤢

I know what you mean. Once again, I mean no offence. But I saw a lot of women, justifying Gunjan like this is how everyone is supposed to act? So I had to ask, if hating your sister in law is an acceptable part of the culture? Like hating MIL?

ofcorx its veera's fault bansuri hates gunjan bcoz of veera😡..and yeah even baldev wuld ignore poor gunju when veera will marry him..no1 understands gunju..no1 loves her that's why she was doing that with manoj and eloping with jagjeet😭..veera's fault manoj came there veera's fault jagjeet was divorced veera's fault gunjan was unable to study ...all veera's fault

and remember its only gunjan who's all acts are justified if her brother even breaks a nail of his own..he's called a bad guy👍🏼

and not to forget veera's huge mistake was that she got gunjan's husband back who was already to get married to some random lady👍🏼..it was her fault that she saved gunjan's boring marriage and now is putting her nose evrywhere

Hating mil is not a part of culture, but it's to be blamed on the women mentality. Mothers insecurity crop up in a terrific form after her son's wedlock, and she starts to behave rude and bossy with her DIL.

But I have seen many Mils and Dil's having a cordial relationship myself. As mentioned before one person or one family cannot be considered to be the fate of an entire country's relationships'!!
