I didn't express my opinion anywhere after Monday's episode, but I'll do so now. What Veera did was right..and the reasons are aplenty for that; one, when you love someone- okay, care for someone, surely you can't be sweet all the time, praising them in whatever they do. Sometimes a rap on the knuckles is needed, tough love we can call it. Those who think that she doesn't care and her outburst was merely out of frustration, do reflect on the dining table scene; she herself recalled Baldev defending Ratan's honor in front of those ladies and called him a good person.
And secondly, her point was completely justified because what she said was right. If you minus out his father's name from Baldev's name, he stands next to nothing. It's high time someone made him smell the coffee, because if this continues and a disgruntled Balwant disowns him one day, (I can easily imagine this after that spoiler), he'll regret not having anything to fall back on. Getting hurt during the practice is better than during actual game.. And a part of this is going to happen at the time of filing of nomination papers, when he stands as a lone warrior among all the fiends that have ganged up with his opponent.
So Baldev needs to stand on his own and make a name for himself, not for showing off to anybody but for betterment of his own life. When people recognize you by your name based on your work, -big or small-; the joy that gives is incomparable to anything.
And my third point is, every girl looks for some basic things in a guy when he approaches her this way. First and foremost, sense of security; physical and financial. Yes, Baldev is strong and can very well protect her but what about the financial security? Sure, this is 21st century and a girl can take care of herself but a husband who doesn't earn and has to borrow money from his father every time is a huge put off, at least for me. All lovey dovey stuff is fine but in reality, only love is not enough for a life time commitment called marriage.
This was just my point of view thinking from a girl's perspective. I don't mean to say Baldev is a bad person or anything. He is a gem of a guy and everybody knows that. I want him to win all challenges; present and futuristic ones, on his own efforts. And he shouldn't win because someone arranged for him to win or because someone gave up their post, trying to be great.
At the end of the day, I am a big Baldeva fan girl so please don't think that this was a bashing post. I just felt I had to state my point on this issue. Sorry if I bored anyone..š³
