She slowly got up from chair and walked towards mirror, she looked at herself. Her own reflection seems to deceive her she thought! Right then a knock at the door, she turned back to see Veera entering her room, face filled with delight and happiness!
"Oye Gunjan di! Aap kitni achi khoobsoorat dikhri ho" Veera chuckled, "NRI munda toh aap pe fida ho gaye hai"
Gunjan gave a feeble smile and looked around as if hoping to see someone!
"Kya hua Gunjan di?" Veera asked
Gunjan seemed not to hear Veera's question and her eyes continued searching, a search which looked filled with hope, hope to bring her what is wanting, what which she very well knows yet is not ready to face it!
Yes Gunjan knows what she wants; she knows she cannot be happy living in Canada with the man whom she is going to marry!
She knows her heart beats in Pritampura and when she moves away she won't be taking in her heart which will continue to be here!
Tears filled her eyes!!!
She wanted to hide them! She didn't want Veera or anybody else there to see her welled up eyes!
Abruptly she ran not hearing what Veera is saying and pushing her aside!
The place was lit up, people were running around, happy, joyful, peals of laughter could be heard, many envious looks passed, old aunties sat on to discuss about the future of Gunjan and many started to search in vain NRI munda for their daughter!!! Amidst this crowd no one notice the lady who ran away out, out to the fields, far away from the home, from her home, from her so called dreams and her so called happiness!!!
Gunjan ran not knowing where she is heading to! She ran without thinking, without stopping! She ran as her face got drowned in her tears!!! Suddenly she heard the song! And she stopped, her balance was lost and she almost fell down but somehow she found her grip and paused to hear!!!
Instead of following the tune like she always do, this time she sat down and stopped to hear the song! As the song continued she let herself lose to be with the flow of the song her thoughts wandered back to where she was thinking! To where she never wanted to think!!!
Yes! Gunjan decided to confront herself!
She thought again about her from childhood! Her life, her family, her friends! Ranvi!!! And the paused!
Why? She wondered! Why should she shrug away her thoughts when it came to and about Ranvi!!!
"Meinu ki bhaag rahe hu?" she thought!
She closed her eyes and thought of all those time she had spent with Ranvi! Unknowingly a smile passed her lips! The way she and Ranvi used to walk through the fields, talk of things around, how she used to know when he is sad and when happy and same way he too knows her well or better she thought! The way she used to help him out from his confusion and then she thought of Ranvi's reaction to her suggestion! Then how Ranvi used to be with her always when she felt hurt by what her mother says! No one could console her better than him!!! The way he used to cheer her up and bring in the lost smile!!!
She opened her eyes!!!
Ranvi, yes Ranvi! Only he can help her out now! He is the only one who knows her the best!
Only he can tell her what that is pulling her back from keeping her step forward for the marriage!
Yes he alone knows where Gunjan's happiness is!!!
"Jaisa Ranvi kahe wahi mein karungi" she thought!!!
