What's the purpose of this pseudo bigamy track?

I'm not able to figure out what's the purpose of this pseudo bigamy track, other than to court TRP folks, to comply with Zee channel's commitment to polygamy cause and to annoy the fans who have been enjoying the show from the beginning during festival season.

If it was to exorcise Ranaji of his first wife then it fails, as the moment he realizes his Sona is really dead and gone,he might keep looking back to his past.

IMO, they could've opened up BRM's track independent of this track.

Why this? Why now?

What do you think?

same thought occured to me why the Sulakshana's track when all BRM has to do is somehow get rid of Ranaji and usurp the throne for her son?they could have built up the track by showing Gayatri and Rajmata trying to save him at every step.

I don't get it either To be honest ..they're not really exploring anything worth watching for me. The approach is wrong I think if they had kept it a little more simple and concentrated on how this effects gayatri a little more As a lady wife and queen it would have made sense mauve played on the fact that polygamy was a real thing back then and Effected women and their rights this is just I don't know makes no sense to me ! The whole girl in a mask ruined it for me so over the top If they had used the concept of just a Marriage proposal on the basis of politics something as simple as that would have been as effective to bring out a lot to explore ..

Or they should have just stuck to the normal plotting based around swarna and her storyline

Sim,
Possibly because...

1. Regardless whether it is Sona or not, even before RNJ starts feeling something odd about her, he has decided that G is the woman for him...even real Sona cannot change that.

2. They want RNJ's inaction here. BRM is enough to cause a rift, but now the story has come to a place where G is not sure if RNJ is being magnanimous or selfish or just helpless. She is not able to digest his proximity to Sulakshna...it makes her way too jealous. Instead of making her possessive, it is driving her away from him...along with the feeling that she was always an unwanted burden he ended up putting up with. She may be the one to expose Jhumki, but what the idea of Sulakshna did to her is not going to change.

Plus Gayathri still doesn't understand what's ranas stand in all this and it's his mistake. Has he told her he loves her? No
Has he told sulakshana clearly what is the status in the palace? No

This should clear ranas mind and heart once for all and remove any guilt in gayathri s mind. I hope the cvse do justice

They should show us scenes with the leads. Otherwise it will cost them trps

My view is that the original script has been played around with -for TRPs. Bringing back Sulakshana was already written, but when and in what form (real or imposter) was the question. If the story had to unfold on this manner, they could hav let the romance brew between the couple a little more. The marriage drama could hav been postpond! The entire 'attraction quotient' and 'cheating' as per Rana Deo could hav been portrayed at a different level for the viewers to be glued to the soap. The trust build up could hav happened after the engagement. This would hav elevated the characters and it would hav been realistic. Then Sulakshana's entry prior to the wedding would hav led to more respect between the couple. The same drama could hav been played out w/out a bigamy track. They could hav shown Rana Deo and Gayatri meeting secretly outside the Mahal and Gayatri donning a detective hat. It would hav been so interesting -add a touch of humor too!! 😃

I cannot fathom how Gayatri would be able to respect Rana Deo after the spineless portrayal of his character. It doesn't seem to be worth any more of your time. Am waiting for 'Siya ka Ram', wonder which time slot??

@bold- that's why i can skip episodes since Sulu entered and have decided to tune back post her exit.
@green-u mean another proposal for RNJ?😆 hey he just got married months ago, plus Gharibkot is of no-significance.
Somewhere down the line another Rajkumari Sharmila can come along to disturb Gayathri's peace.😆

@red
actually, i wish they've explored it more from RNJ's pov. His dead wife,he loved truly.madly has suddenly come alive when he has just moved on. It's BIG for him.
Ideally there would be conflict.I'm not really convinced the way it has been portrayed that there's no Sulu in his heart now.
We'll never know, if real Sulu had returned with memories, that, he too cherished till recently would he have acted differently?

IMO, there's no balance in showcasing the leads feelings as they've to accommodate the Kunwars& BRM too.
Maintaining 2 parallel triangles and a major vamp plotting involving 3 more people will be very tricky.Poor RM is already ghayb.

Soup- Am not really convinced on point 1. I'll always wonder what RNj would have done if Sulu had returned as the lovable woman she was? Is it easy for him to make a stand now that she has changed?

No2- I thought G was secure enough to tell him to give away the crown, while she was sure he would chose her as the wife.
Her jealously making her run away from him- may be she doesn't feel the rights of a wife as fully as RNJ feels as a husband, as it's the first wife she is dealing with?

Will be interesting to see G's green-eyed monster in the interim between expose & knowing abt Jhumki.
I hope Jhukhi faces some of the ex-queen's wrath before getting booted.😆

but what the idea of Sulakshna did to her is not going to change-
i think, we'll know this by the end of the track?.Whether she feels"mera pati sirf mer hai" or she'll feel victimized like BRM.

This track, as I see it, is more about intrigue than anything else..having failed in their various other attempts to eliminate RNJ/ G, the conspirators are taking a rather extreme step here to avert the couple from consummating and taking the lineage forward..
I don't think this track is really about RNJ instrospecting...because, to me, he had clearly moved on the day he smiled on watching Bansi and Mala feed each other and proceeded to mimic their actions with G...

Assuming he had even been reminded of S, the fact that he went back to G and offered to feed her is huge...S's memory no longer had that kind of hold on him that it would make him shun G's company or proximity...

If he was not reminded of S, that is even bigger...that the demonstration of affection between a husband and wife did not remind him of S,...but instead made him offer the same token of affection to G, whatever be his triggers...

If at all this track is about underlining RNJ's emotions, it is about proving to him how far away he has moved from the idea of S...when a bangle could once evoke memories, a replica is not even disturbing him remotely now...irrespective of her being real or fake, he should have felt a certain confusion...he is not feeling even a bit of that...his confusion is only about how to do right by her...he has done what he could by way of restoring the crown to her...beyond that, he is neither willing to offer her emotions nor his proximity...! His biggest problem now is how to ensure that G is not hurt...how to do right by her...that seems to be eating into him far more than any thought of S...!

With both these points being proven, I really don' t see the point of extending this track now...high time they unmasked Jhumki...!

Well something that would have made gayatri feel like she was going to have a rival wife to her husband something more realistic then this fake mask thing basically lol and then they could have explored the madi ma thing if they really wanted to alongside it why make it so fake is my point.
