No Art is impure yes! I am a Bharatnatyam dancer myself. But in this context, Gayatri took this as an insult too which basically proved Sulakshana and BRM's intent to project the queen in a bad light..as that kind of a dancer who titillates men for money,a courtesan if you will. Ranaji was not making any revolutionary statement or addressing the stigma associated per se, he just defended his queen's honor by comparing her performance to that of a jogan thereby cancelling out Sula's intended public slandering.
Rana Deo's character has already taken a severe beating with this sequence (if the spoilers are right). I haven't seen the dance, but by sitting and watching it, he appears to hav given an in-principle approval for this nonsense. Whatever u say after, the damage is already done, even if he gives Gayatri a Queen status! Has he taken it away to restore it? Was that implied after Sulakshana's crowing? Can't a King hav two wives in 1940's? Its like stabbing a person in the back and then facing him with folded hands to say "Sorry"! This sequence could hav been avoided. If the TRPs do rise substantially, will Gayatri play Draupadi again? Lakshraj failed last time!! Then what is Rana Deo? After the so-called "Krishna" status as an analogy, he can again come to her rescue during the disrobe act!! 🤪 😃 Then, who would be Duryodhan? Kunwar chacha?
I thought the earlier analogy had RaniMaa as Krishna!! Am glad if Anita Raaj has taken a break for the festive season! 😃 (no mention of her in any written updates). Or worse, would there be a Daayan in the coming episodes? Torture!
Anyways, its the festive season where good always conquers evil, so let this happen and Sulakshana finds her way out...The challenge is already forgotten so lets see who would light the diyas?
Happy Deepawali to all of you, Forumites. Enjoy the Festival of Lights.
