By walking to the centre of the floor and allowing her to dance around him, he became the manifestation of Krishna to her Meera/ Radha...he did not dance but he lent his physical presence to her performance...and when the King himself becomes part of the public performance, where is the humiliation...?

Sid's play! How did he get the time to rehearse? So sweet. 😳

Soup, it was improv comedy, probably no need to rehearse. Then he had short appearances in the last few episodes so probably got some time.

One question, was dancing in that era a bad thing, like in if a girl dances in some family party it's considered as humiliating or bad for her character?

Wasn't dancing considered as an art, like playing piano, violin, or singing for you invitees..

It is not...but nachaniyas are considered to be people who entice men through their skills in dancing. Item songs in BW movies these days come to mind as a close example. That's why Sulakshana uses this as a ploy to insult the Queen, but it's backfired royally!

Looking back to the Hindu mythology, we talk of the tandav of Shiva as the cosmic dance and to him as the dancing God...in fact Parvathi and Shiva were supposed to have engaged in a dance competition even...

No art can be impure..the stigma comes from the intent...which was the exact same point RNJ made...!

Precisely, Bertie..the king himself became a part of her act! 👏 Excellent creative move...and to be followed by further dialogues...I felt this dance was beautiful..it was really spiritual. 👏

Not sure if his intention was to be part of her act though. I think he was walking off because he could not bear to see Gayu being humiliated and she happened to dance around him. But I do like your and Bertie's interpretation on the song and dance.

Najat thanks for the links, will watch them in a bit. You are the link queen yaar 😆 You posted so many links.

Bertie, Soup, are you both still around? Did either of you post about the RaGa scene and I missed it?
