Sid does naughty very well...gotta give him that..and he does male desire very elegantly and yet powerfully...😳

@ Bold- 👏 He is simply too good there! 😉😆

G,

It is just that Gayatri took precedence over everything after she almost died because of him.

Now, things have stabilised...the old RNJ is slowly resurfacing...and the conscience is acting up...

Right now, Gayatri is alright...RNJ starts doubting his loyalty to one woman...in effect, he is questioning his loyalty to both the women there...If he is still Sula's, he can never be Gaytri's entirely...which is what she wants in her monologue..WHEN WILL MY HUSBAND BE ONLY MINE?

I feel we should give RNJ some time to sort out his feelings...After all, his bond with Sulakshna has only been overemphasised throughout.😳

I agree with Chick here, G...see during the wedding, Sulakshana was paramount in his mind...but even then, it was only when things that reminded him of his first nuptials were placed around him that he lost it...

Post the jungle fiasco, his supreme emotion has been a huge sense of guilt and remorse...he almost killed a woman...his own wife...that was the driving force...it kind of triggered off an acceptance of how wrong he had been in his assumptions...in all of this, Sulakshana was the last thing on his mind...we saw that even during the dargah...even mentioning her name did not bother him quite as much..because there were larger issues at stake there...but now that he is finally looking to move on, somewhere his inner guilt is resurfacing...he had made such grand promises of fidelity for life and so on..and here he is, melting before his wife...unable to resist her emotionally or physically...interestingly, both times when they engaged in foreplay, it was not planned...it happened at the spur of the moment and both were caught unawares although fully in the moment...this time, RNJ is consciously making the effort to engage with her physically..he is consciously making the effort...so the last vestiges of emotion and guilt that he feels towards Sulakshana are rearing their ugly head and reminding him they exist...hence the conflict...!

Chick...took your recco..watched it again...more or less, same pinch...I think the opening monologue killed it for me...and I just reacted thereafter ...
I watched it after muting the sound...I stand by my earlier assessment...the problem was with the monologue delivery..not with the expressions...the words did not appear felt...they were just spoken...don't know why they passed it...like I said, they should stick to their gut...cannot pander to everything an audience wants and still be true to your way of story telling...! Or if they thought it was so important, they should have recorded a better version...this just served to kill the moment...

I personally liked the episode. There was a more serious tone.
But Ranaji needs to realize that just because he wants to move on, it doesn't mean he is ready to move on. Gayatri was tensed and worried throughout the episode, with good reason.

Gayatri can support him only till a certain point. Eventually its his own battle. Unless Gayatri finds out he was being brainwashed all along.

I wont talk about the odd errors, because they weren't that super important to me to dwell on long enough.

Like when he saw the bangle. I get the point, but it was misplaced and cruel moment for that; should have been done sooner. But DD portrayed the sadness well. But since more of that is coming, i guess we should just get ready for it.

Okay, so a more objective analysis after a second viewing based on Chick's recco...I was so pissed off by that monologue that I just took off on a rant..and that spoiled everything else that followed for me...
So let me retrace my steps and try to be a little more balanced this time...

Hits

1. I really like the fact that even in the lighter or more emotional moments, Sid maintains the reserve of a king...the way he greeted his in laws...and his expression when asked to change into a dhoti...very cute and yet with the right amount of reserve...nice!

2. I liked Gayathri- Damayanthi conversation. So typically mother like in wanting to know 'if all was well'...and Gayathri's reassuring her...

3. I liked the moment between Damayanthi - RNJ...he is touched by her show of gratitude..he feels he does not quite deserve it considering he had misunderstood Gayathri...but the kingly reserve is not going to let him say that..instead he tells her that her daughter can never come to any harm since she has a mother like her...I like the way they played it...the mother-in-law had to remember that she was talking to her son-in-law who was also the King..and the King had to remember his royal status...and yet they tried to say whatever they had to...without compromising their respective positions...these two can never be Maa and Beta..not when his own mother is Rajmata...

4. The dhoti scene...started off quite cutely...G was so caught up in the mess that he had made of the dhoti that she didn't seem to realize that her husband was topless...anyway, the realization took over when she placed her hand on his chest... both became acutely aware of the moment..and it became a reversal of the dori scene...except that both were perfectly at ease with the intimacy...very nice that..unlike the playful sensuality of the previous episode's scene, this one was more a helpless admission of their susceptibility to each other...particularly RNJ...he did not hesitate to show at every point that he was affected...quite like G had during the dori scene...

What struck me most was the ease even in the midst of the sexual tension...if the previous episode was playful almost in its tone and trying to get better of the other, this one was more a confession...RNJ asked for more...and G told him that now was not the time..but she promised more at a later time...very well done once again by both Sid and DD..particularly given that they are having back to back scenes of this kind..to try for a different pitch every time...the chemistry was very different from what we had seen before...like I said, it was indicative of a comfort level where RNJ had no qualms showing his need openly..no turning away...😳 Sid is so very good at expressing sensual tension ..he does it elegantly and yet emphatically...

5. I really liked RNJ telling Seth ji that he was a son-in-law and would do what it took...very sweet moment that..G was naturally beaming with pride...but RNJ became the king when he gently castigated Seth ji for his chauvinism and suggested a change of ways...of course Seth ji gladly obliged...nice...again, I really like that the son-in-law is always the King...but the King is not always the son-in-law...really like the way Sid is making that distinction...excellent body language..!

6. Finally the scene that brought back Sulakshana...! I did not find it sudden or contrived...it was the first time that he was consciously planning and initiating intimacy and his conscience chose the wrong moment to rear its ugly head...it shows that much as the flesh may be willing, sometimes the mind plays tricks...unfortunately the bangle showed its ugly face at the wrong time...or maybe the right time..because RNJ really needs to resolve this in his head if he has to move on...

I liked Sid's expressions when he feels the torment of conscience pangs...he is frustrated, angry and agonized...Drashti was of course excellent in her inability to accept that her husband's past was constantly proving a block in their relationship...

Misses

1. I would have liked a warmer and more ceremonial welcome for the king/ son-in-law. Felt very empty somehow...

2. The king is sent off to change his clothes without an escort? And then, after he and his wife go to all the trouble, there is no puja scene 😲😕

3. I hated the first monologue post the scene with the mother ...it was so flat,..how was it even passed...and why did they even need it...I muted the scene and watched..and his expressions conveyed his guilt and remorse well enough...where was the need to make it verbal? It spoilt the entire episode for me so much so that everything seemed bad after that...when it wasn't quite so bad after all!

4. The last scene before Mata Rani didn't work for me...the dialogues were very meh...they could have been much more powerful...and Sulakshana's appearance when he is in a trance is not Mata Rani showing the way but his own guilty conscience superimposing her claim...that is why he says he has too many questions and no answers...it might be construed as misleading...! RNJ's conflict was seen but not very powerful..but am assuming the torment was already there in the previous scene..so they wanted to limit it to questions...but somehow, placing the scene in a temple and showing him speaking to the Goddess did not work for me...it did not go with RNJ's characterization...it could have been played very differently...I was frankly surprised to see him talking to the Goddess...he could have sat under the skies and spoken to the stars maybe...might have felt more impactful...!

I found todays episode intriguing specially having gotten to see some glimpses of the old Rana again but more than that it was Sulas part that left me stumped.
So one thing that's been established is that he's not faking. He genuinely feels attraction and maybe love towards gayatri but the question is to what extent. One little trigger and Ranajis off his horse again!New found love and attraction ,yet it seems unstable, uncertain maybe as depicted by the little interaction with Sula Rana had.He wants to move on so vehemently, especially after depriving himself of any happiness for 6years but maybe its to a little to quick a little to soon.Where is the story going? On one side there's Gayatri who ranaji want to move forward with but seems uncertain somewhere within.Conflicted unknowingly.
Then there is Sula a love of years who's mere memory still haunts Rana so much as to make him the broken ,brooding man he was.
His mind is at two extremes is seems.Whatever it maybe I feel for the guy.

@Bw yup I agree about the whole should've sat under the stars point .
Really should utilize ranajis love for astronomy.

Just saw it.. IMO Sid's emoting was once again amateurish while in the Mandir. Rest was ok but they were ready to come close at jet speed.
