Sush, I was wondering in that last shot about the man who squatted behind SK and gently pulled the chaddar 😆

I did not particularly like the 'wife is always right' line. Pure fodder for TRP aunties possibly!

But I am not angry or upset with G for pushing her point. I have learnt that it is how she is and I am not going to expect her to be like me! She is not me, she is a woman who is at the moment alternating between hope and despair. Her actions are not going to be rational!

In the dargah, G appears to be in a drugged like state rather than knocked out cold! Furthers my belief on some RM- Yashodha magic!

On the precap, I am going to wait to judge the actor! Not fair to judge based on a couple of disjointed shots!

I don't think it is about G, but a generic thing! About how he has been immune to the pain of those around him! Hope so!

Because the only thing that should or would trigger off a king's anger on his own self would be a gross dereliction of duty! If that is the case, very smart on part of the CVs. That what brings about his meltdown is not purely personal but about the State!

Bertie,

I am glad my 'spirit' has flown into you. 😆

Yes, you did overlook the jarring parts...and barring them, the concept has not been tampered with, I hope.😉

Loved all the fangirling U did. ❤️ 🤗

@BertieWooster and simran_singh_24 : Exactly my point. I am able to see what theatre has given the lead male actor. A gift of nuances in acting. It's so subtle that you blink and miss it. But its adding so much of value to the scenes and am sure there is more to come. I want to see more... 😃

It would be a treat to all his fans in this Forum. For first timers like me, I look forward to the scene where the King Rana Deo and Indradhavan blend together and take us on a roller-coaster ride...

Chick, I completely get where you are coming from. You are angry because you care just like RNJ
😆. I mean you have two gorgeous leads who are very good performers besides, a great supporting cast, a good technical team, why in the effing hell can't the writers and director pay a little more attention to smoothing the rough edges?

I might have been as angry as you are if your spirit hadn't flown into me 😆

Fortunately for me it had, and so I was enjoying whatever bits that appealed to me.

Possibly I was fangirling with regard to SK because I really feel the need to appreciate it when someone works on a character the way he does. Theater is something that I respect hugely and for those guys, it is primarily about their craft. It is not just about the money or glamour, although the two are of course most welcome additions 😆

I did not know Sid from Adam till I started watching this show. Had only seen him in the Airtel ad and spared a passing thought to the 'cute husband' but that was all!

I did not even know he was part of this show when I started watching it. What reeled me in was the majestic opening frames, the period setting. Anita Raaj was a revelation and I was hooked!

I did think he was stiff to begin with. He took his own sweet time warming up but I am sure it was not just about the medium. Theater actors need very precise briefs and clear direction and when that is lacking, there will be a problem. They are not like TV actors, who are used to scripts and characterizations that change on a daily basis!

Now none of that is really our business. We can only comment on what we see on our screens. However, since I do have some understanding of how the business works, I cut actors some slack. If you recall, even when I criticized DD for overdoing it, I called the director out. Because it is his job to tell the actor what and how much!

Yesterday, I had made a post where I commented on how actors get all the praise. The flip side is that they bashed as well for mistakes that are not even theirs. So if a director doesn't get it right, or a DOP or an editor even, the actor is blamed. Have been reading about how RNJ is simply not showing signs of being 'aware' of G. Now how will RNJ be 'aware' unless he is told that he has to be aware? He will do exactly what he is told and try to improvise within the brief! He cannot overstep his brief since he is not yet a superstar of Indian TV.

For Sid's sake, I hope he grows out of TV soon enough and gets to do far better work! He has the spark and the versatility!

Sure, Sid has mastered it and brought in lot of improvisations.
i can see that in many places.
Did u notice the way he took off the shoes at the entrance?he pushed them back after leaving.Unless they have total control freak for a Dir, i think, it's the actor's touch.

Agree on Yashodha...I really like the actor...!

Yes, I noticed the royal jhoothis being removed...😆

Did you notice the flourish with which he opened out the napkin for G? That was so upper class, the way a man who is used to the good life would do it. It is these small things that add to the character for me! Baaki, they are all competent actors and can laugh, cry and romance with relative ease. I go for these details!

Bertie,
Let them not outgrow TV. There is a major revolution happening here. I am not for any of the super duper hits..no quality there. And the good films that do get the critical acclaim don't have the reach that television does. So all the fame and quality is right here on television. Hopefully it will come up in a big way soon. Actors do have it good nowadays.👏

What I love about Sid is the dedication to his character...I am hoping nothing short of creative poverty from the makers will make him want to quit the show, if that ever happens. Because that is what happened with the previous show I watched, and it made me a fan of a telly actor for the first time. My disappointment with that talent wasted is also what reflected in my post...and...the director should really have smoothened out the rough edges..there is no forgiving that. I am just hoping it was the Asst Dir who stepped in to cover, as the Director would have been busy planning the dargah scene.😳

DD / Siddanth were not in the same frame the entire Coffee scene ...I know DD has bad eye infection ...the editing was poor.

Chick...I can see you liked many things...even if the episode didn't grab you in...and was disappointing in build up and context...I agree with you on that...

Shwets cheer up girl...like Indra said...it wasn't bad...there were many things worth appreciating...😃

Gayatris beauty
Her sweet love and care and
RNJs "moments" with his "wife"

Script was trite and didn't provide build up for the emotional connect ...could have been better...

Bertie dear...are you sure you are NO actors fan??😆

@Soup

Now a days critically acclaimed films do well. Queens being one example among many. Haidar did average business. I feel their doing a lot better than they once did. I am not sure how much this adds to your conversation about acting but right now I have a much higher opinion of Hindi cinema than Hindi TV.

Lol Chick...I didn't mean quit the show...oh no...I would want him to be RNJ for as long as the show lasts...which is for a long, long time hopefully...I only meant that this medium currently doesn't seem to offer the men much...being as female centric as it is...but yes, if the wave of change is happening, nothing can beat it in terms of reach..!

Agree totally on your second para. His commitment and dedication shows and that alone deserves praise! He is so spot on with the body language and the nuances. Sometimes, it feels like he needs to hold an emotion just a couple of seconds extra because this is the small screen and it often gets missed. And then there is the editor who's fingers are itching all the time 😡. But he is clearly working on his own rough edges as seen by the progress since he started out as RNJ.

You may well be right on the assistant director. There are second units and third units even and some of the inconsistency can be explained that way! Ridiculous deadline pressures do that as well! And there was an actor's failing health to consider in this case!

Got to give it to Sid for emoting as well as he did in those shots where he had to carry Drashti in his arms right through! Before her fans jump at me, I am sure she is as light as a thistle. It is just that Sid does not have the strength for even a thistle 😆

You know I really hope CVs takes time to develop the story between gayatri and ranaji.
As of now he's just warmed up to her and has started noticing her for who she is externally .I hope CVs don't rush this love story. That could totally ruin what they've achieved so far.

@sush
Just four, among the living ones, in India - Naseer saab, Kamal Haasan, Mohan Lal and Tabu.

Met the first two and was tongue tied in their presence...yet to have the pleasure of meeting the third...told Tabu I was a huge fan girl!

If you are talking of Sid, I am a huge sucker for underdogs...so I am his self appointed, pro bono defense lawyer...😆
