This article says it all!😊
Finally the most awaited serial of Zee TV - Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani goes live! Welcome to 1945 - A flashback of Pre-Independence era, a period of princely states1 where India was under the British Rule and the kings were mere puppets. While, we have seen Bollywood films on this theme, this is the first time we are witnessing the story live on ourTV screens.

Here we tell you things that you definitely need to watch out in this period drama
Drashti Dhami as Gayatri Seth
DD is back and her return is indeed pleasing. Happy go lucky, she plays the role of Gayatri Seth who has a knack of learning, much to the displeasure of her mother. So, she visits the local library by using her elder brother's identity card. A chirpy girl, Drashti Dhami as Gayatri Seth is a treat to watch.1 She looks pretty in her de-glam look and her cotton saris do remind us of the bygone era.

The Mysterious Male Protagonist - Rana Indravardhan Deo
Rana Indravardhan (the king of the princely state Amerkot) is back after 6 years and everybody is excited to welcome him. No wonder, he has fought alongside the British in Second World War. However, from the first look of the serial, it appears that Rana ji hates violence and can't bear even the welcoming gun shots. There is surely a mystery behind Rana Indravardhan Deo1 and it would be interesting to know his past. Siddhant Karnick as Ranaji is a perfect match.

The Vintage Look and Feel of the Serial
Now since the serial Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani takes us back to the pre-independence era, the serial showcases all the vintage items. From vintage camera to vintage cars along with vintage dress and style, the serial tries to be as classic as possible. No wonder, after a long time we get to feel the royal milieu which has an imperial setting.

The Royalty of the Rich and the Sufferings of the Poor
In the starting episode, there is a reference of "aam junta" and the "khaas". This give us enough hint that Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani will also highlight on the atrocities faced by Indians in the pre-independence period where they were sandwiched between the rich Indians and the ruling British. While, we have studied about it in the text books for a change, we will watch it on Television sets. This serial apart from providing entertainment will also bestow the fans with social message.

Anita Raj as Rajmata Priyamvada
She is stylish, fashionable, self-obsessed and highly royal in her approach. It seems that she loves her son. However, we still have to wait and watch to find out whether this love is true or is just a play. Anita Raj is playing the role of Rajmata Priyamvada1 and it I said that she is an antagonist.

While most of the elements of Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani is fine, we just hope that if the makers, writers and dialogue writers concentrate on the language of the show and through their dialogues take us back to the Pre-Independence period.
