Why gayatri hiding her identity from rana

When ranaji asked "Kaun ho tum " maine library mai bhi dekhna ..why gayatri stopped kaka frm saying she is set govind 's daughter..? why kaka said "Meri beti " hain

Maybe when Gayatri will get married to Ranaji, he will not see her face. He will get married to her out of compulsion so that Gayatri's father writes off the debts. Only after the wedding he will see her face and then think she is a liar.

This I think will come back to haunt Gayatri when they are married later perhaps. But I think what happened was she was confused nearly drowning and he is right there the guy she fancies and she was dumbstruck, under those circumstances she was not confident to speak at all, and then the kaka spoke for her to protect her reputation better he and others don't know who she is at all, because the way people were looking as he was about to give her mouth to mouth resuscitation in those days many of those villages don't know about this so its her reputation affected, and off course they will repeat what they saw there so better he give a false name to all and it doesn't come to hurt Gayatri, but unfortunately by hiding to Rana it might appear to him later that she hid her identity for him to like her and when it comes time to marry her it goes smoothly their relationship but he will decide he won't give in to these machinations and be aloof but by what happened today we can say he is definitely not thinking about his dead wife when Gayatri is with him...holding onto her hand for long, and the turn around to look at her one last time before leaving that place, his affected which will make it even more interesting to see their relation post marriage develop.
