The show is about woman empowerment surrounding Sharda, not marital romance. From the very beginning, the show has shown Sakshi being the loud and outspoken one when it comes to Sharda, while Karan is the silent one fuming behind the curtains. EHMMBH focused on Krystle, she was the main character. In ENP, she is more of a "supporting" main character.
For those who tweet they want someone to replace KS ... no offense meant to them, but they are the ones stuck on not understanding the show. Karan isn't meant to be a romantic guy. He is a typical down to earth person who cares for his mom, albeit silently. Having too many romantic scenes with Sakshi (which I would assume is what the fans are asking to allow a chemistry buildup between the actors) goes completely against the show's theme. While I will admit that the story line has completely departed from the original theme of the show, I don't blame Karan. If I wanted a replacement, it would be the writers who are cooking up such silly things, or the CVs who agree on it.
Karan's acting is very good if you look at it from the show's original theme. He isn't overpowering, he isn't centralized. His KaSak scenes are pretty nice when they show it and to be frank, those who don't like it are probably just die hard Tracker / D'Souza fans from EHMMBH who don't want to see KD with someone other than KT (this is an generalization which honestly shouldn't be mentioned since there are many different opinions out there, but this is what I've seen so I noted it here).
Again, this serial isn't about KaSak's journey ... it's about a maa-bahu journey and thus from a marketing POV, it's pointless for Krystle to advertise KaSak. KaSak doesn't seem like it's supposed to be even considered a "favorite" jodi from the beginning. We have Karan trying to escape marriage, then Sakshi and Karan taking ages to have their wedding night, and then we have splits and come backs and more splits and more anger and this and that.
I've been an on-off ENP fan. I too stopped watching sometime around the Adi track, and I would come back and leave again. Basically, the writers just wanted to turn it around to be a typical tellywood show, and I can't blame them since I honestly wonder how many people would have stuck around if the show continued to be about Sharda's education (it's all what we want to see, but face it, drama and tension are what we all secretly crave).
Total respect for your opinion though. This is just what I have seen.
