Part 4

One month later

Looking at her incomplete painting Kalpana mumbled to herself, "it's been one week I couldn't even finish one painting. Placing the brush on the center table Kalpana came to the balcony to get some fresh air. Somehow her mind was restless. It's been one week she got a new job in Mumbai given by Raghav and she was expecting him to come and see her work. He must be busy, she thought, or he is still upset on me after whatever happened. Everything was flashing out in front of her eyes.

Flashback

Two weeks ago

Raghav was going to attend a meeting while passing Kalpana's college. Noticing her waiting for a taxi in front of her college he told the driver to stop the car. Pulling the window down, he called her by her name, "Ms. Kapoor. They met each other two weeks later after they came from Delhi. "Hi, Kalpana said with a smile.

Rag: come, let me drop you off

Kal: Are you sure?

Rag: yes

"Thank you, Kalpana said while fixing herself beside Raghav in the car.

Rag: Tell me where I need to drop you off

Then Kalpana told him an address. The driver reached the place in 15 minutes. Raghav noticed his car was stopped in front of a building. "Thank you for the ride, Kalpana said and added, "Otherwise I would be late for the work today.

Rag: do you work here?

Kal: yes. I work here part time as a PA for Mr. Mehta. Anyway thanks again for the ride

Rag: hm

Then Kalpana walked to the building

Five minutes later Raghav noticed a cell phone laying on the back seat. Taking it in his hand he mumbled to himself, "I think Ms. Kapoor left her phone here. he looked at the driver and said, "Driver, can you go back to Ms. Kapoor's office? I need to return her phone. She may need it.

Once they reached in front of Kalpana's office, Ragahv got off from the car and walked to the building taking Kalpana's phone along with him. When he asked about Kalpana the receptionist told him to go to 3^rd floor. As he came out of the elevator he saw Kalpana. Before he could reach her desk a middle age man came and started showing her something in the computer. He must be her boss, he thought. While showing her, the man was leaning on Kalpana from her back and his one hand was on her. Though Kalpana was totally unaware of it but Raghav noticed it. "Ms. Kapoor, hearing Raghav Kalpana looked back and the man came few steps back. Raghav walked toward Kalpana's desk. Placing the phone on the desk Ragahv said, "You left your phone in the car. Then he looked at the man. "Thank you, hearing Kalpana Ragahv looked back at her. Noticing Ragahv looking at the man, Kalpana said, "let me introduce. He is my boss Mr. Mehta and sir he is Mr. Raghav Singhania.Raising his hand Mehta said with a smile, "Glad to meet you. Ragahv took his hand in him and said, "Glad to meet you too.

Singhania Constructions

Ragahv was working on a project. All of a sudden something clicked into his mind. Leaving the project incomplete he opened another browser. He tried to do some google search about Mehta Group of Industries and the owner Mr. Mehta. The company was built 5 years ago. That's all he got to know. He dialed Ravi's number.

Ravi: yes sir

Rag: try to get all the information about the owner of Mehta Group of Industries especially his personal relationship with his female employees

Few days later

Kalpana's office

Kalpana was going out for the lunch; in the mean time she met her boss Mr. Mehta in the elevator.

Mehta: Kalpana, are you free tonight?

Kal: why sir?

Mehta: I was planning to take you for dinner

Seeing her looking at him confused, he said, "I meant to say for me my employees are like my family. You are the only employee I meant to say my new family member I didn't treat for dinner yet. Kalpana smiled and said, "Thank you sir, but I need to help my cousin sister in her school project.

Mehta: ok, no problem. Some other time

The next day

In the evening

Raghav dialed Kalpana's number. Seeing an unknown number on the screen she didn't pick up the phone. Ragahv came out of the office. While driving he attempted several times. Finally she picked up.

Kal: hello, who is it?

Rag: it's me, Raghav.

Kal: hello Mr. Singhania

Rag: Why didn't you pick up the phone?

Kal: I didn't have your number. I thought some unknown person...

He cut her words and asked, "Tell me where you are now?

Kal: I am at office

Rag: at office? It is 8 PM

Kal: I know. Actually, my boss gave me some extra work.

Rag: is there anyone else besides your boss in the office?

Kal: no. they left. My boss told me to work until 8:30 PM then he will drop me off.

Raghav cut her call. He drove the car as fast as possible. While driving Ravi's each and every word were ringing into his ears, "Sir, I have collected all the information about Mr. Mehta as you requested. "He forces his employees to sleep with him. "To save their jobs they agree to sleep with him. "I got to know from someone very close to him that he booked a hotel room for tonight... Raghav stopped his car in front Mehta Group of Industries.

Seeing Raghav at her work place Kalpana was not only surprised but confused. "Mr. Singhania? You? Kalpana said while getting up from her chair. Without replying her, he took a paper laying on the printer. Kalpana noticed him writing something on the paper. "What are you doing? Kalpana asked. He still didn't reply. Hearing someone talking to Kalpana Mr. Mehta came out of his cabin. "What is going on here? hearing Mehta, Ragahv looked at him angrily. Then he looked at Kalpana and said, "Sign the letter. Kalpana read the letter Raghav just wrote.

Kal: resignation letter?

Rag: sign it

Mehta: can anyone tell me what is going on here.

Rag: Kalpana is resigning

Mehta: but why?

Kalpana was still confused. She was just listening to their conversations without uttering a word.

Rag: she is not going to work with a cheap person like you

Mehta: how dare you talk to me like this?

Rag: you better stay quiet or you don't know what I can do with you

Noticing Raghav went out of control Kalpana spoke up, "Mr. Singhania, how can you talk to my boss like this? without caring her words Ragahv said, "sign the paper.

Kal: I wont

Raghav looked at her for few seconds and then looked at her hand. "What are you..., before Kalpana could finish her sentence he made her sign on the letter forcefully. Throwing the letter on Mehta's face, Ragahv said, "Stay away from her. Mehta could see rage into Raghav's eyes. Then Ragahv came out of the office dragging Kalpana along with him.

In the car

Kalpana was very upset for whatever happened earlier in the office.

Kal: What is wrong with you?

Raghav didn't reply. He was just focusing on driving

Kal: when I was living a carefree life you had problem. And now when I have decided to think about my future leaving my carefree life behind you have problem. It is not that easy to get a job without any experience nowadays.

Rag: give me your phone

Kal: I need my answer first

Ragahv looked at her phone Kalpana was holding. He snatched it from her hand and then saved his number in Kalpana's phone. "I saved my number under Raghav, Raghav said without looking at her and added, "Next time when I call you pick up the ... Kalpana cut his words saying, "So that you can come and make scene the way you been doing into my life forcefully right? Ragahv pressed the brake hard. He looked at Kalpana who was already looking at him. He could guess how much she was angry. Opening the door Kalpana came out of the car. Few seconds later Ragahv came out and followed her behind. "Ms. Kapoor, wait, Ragahv said while walking behind. He made her turn to face him by holding her hand. "Leave my hand, hearing Kalpana Raghav loosened his grip. Looking into his eyes directly she said, "leave me alone and stay away from my life. As Kalpana turned to leave Ragahv held her arm tightly and pulled her toward him. Both of them were standing face to face with rage into each other's eyes. "You are fighting with me because of that bas***d? Ragahv said angrily and added, "You are lucky that I reached there on time or you would have to end up in a hotel room with that Mehta. Hearing him Kalpana's expression changed. As he loosened his grip Kalpana came few steps back. She looked back at him when he said, "When I met him for the first time I noticed his behavior toward you. Then I involved Ravi to get me all the information about him. He forces his employees to make physical relationship with him. And you were his next target.

After Ragahv left leaving Kalpana alone, she was sitting on the same place near a river for a long time. Ragahv's each and every words were ringing into her ears. Then she recalled how Mehta offered her to take her for a dinner. She came to her sense when her phone rang.

Kal: hello Mama

Mama: Kalpana, where are you? It is 11 now

Kalpana's house

It was 2 AM. Kalpana's sleep was far away. She could not sleep because she was angry. She was angry because of herself. "If he could notice someone's behavior toward me, how I couldn't notice? she mumbled to herself angrily and added, "Why I didn't keep my eyes open?

Two days later

In the morning

After freshening up Kalpana came to her room to get ready for the college. As she opened the almirah, her eyes fell on her short dresses she had been wearing. She took one of them in her hand. After remembering something she put it back. After closing the door of her almirah she came to her cousin Prerna's room. Seeing Kalpana in her room, Prerna asked, "Didi do you need anything?

Kal: hm

Then she directly went to Prerna's Almirah. "Prerna, where is my salwar suit Mama gifted me in the last Dewali? Kalpana asked while searching it up into the Almirah.

Prerna: what will you do with that?

Kal: I am going to wear it

Prerna: but you said you don't like salwar suit that's why you gave it to me

Kal: I know but I will wear it. Actually from now on I am going to wear salwar suit

Kalpana's college

Seeing Kalpana in salwar suit Kalpana's friends were not only surprised but shocked too.

Purvi: Kalpana, what did you wear? You are not looking good in salwar suit.

Swati: she is not even looking hot and sexy

Kal: I don't care if I don't look beautiful or hot and sexy. What I do care is no one will be able to look at me with bad intention. I am feeling so safe today

Then Kalpana recalled how Raghav saved her from Mr. Mehta. When she recalled her harsh behavior toward Raghav guiltiness aroused into her mind. She came to her sense hearing Purvi, "Kalpana.

Two days later

Seeing opening positions in few companies in the newspaper Kalpana thought to call them. As she took the phone in her hand she remembered Mr. Mehta's intention toward her. Placing the phone on the bed she laid down. What if they became like Mr. Mehta, Kalpana thought.

Two weeks later

While going home from her college Kalpana got a phone call from an unknown number

Kal: hello. Who is it?

Unknown person: Ms. Kapoor. This is Mr. Shekhar. I work for Mr. Raghav Sighania

Hearing Raghav's name a smile appeared on her face unknowingly.

Kal: yes tell me

Shekhar: I take care of his properties, restaurants, hotels in Mumbai. I really need some painters for one of his new hotels. Mr. Rajesh told me that you already worked for MR. Singhania in Delhi. Mr. Rajesh recommended you. Would you like to work?

Without thinking anything she agreed and said, "Yes, I would like to work. Working around Raghav is the safest place in the world, Kalpana thought. But Mr. Rajesh recommended her, not Raghav, this thought made her smile vanish. "He is still upset on me, Kalpana mumbled to herself.

One week later

It's been one week Kalpana joined. She was enjoying her new work. Sometimes she would miss Ragahv. Sometimes she wished him to be with her. One evening she got a phone call from Mr. Rajesh.

Kal: hello Manager Uncle

Rajesh: hello beta, how are you?

Kal: I am good. How are you uncle?

Rajesh: I am good. Listen when you will come to Delhi to complete your incomplete work?

Kal: next week.

Rajesh: ok

Kal: thank you uncle for recommending me for this new job in Mumbai

Rajesh: sorry beta, I didn't recommend you for anything

Hearing him, somehow Kalpana was relieved. So it was you, Kalpana said in her mind, now he was someone always worrying about her well-being.

The next day

Kalpana didn't go to college. After getting ready she directly went to work. After spending three hours Kalpana made Raghav's sketch. Looking at his sketch Kalpana said, "Who said I am alone. You are with me na. placing the brush she was holding on the table Kalpana mumbled to herself, "I wish you would be here physically. She walked to the balcony. (Flashback end)

Singhania Constructions

In the middle of the meeting Raghav's phone buzzed with a message. He scanned through the text message.

I have been here since one week. You didn't even come to see me how I am doing.

After the meeting Ragahv came back to his cabin. Taking the phone in his hand he opened the message again. Then he typed,

From now on you need to walk alone

After few seconds he deleted the line.

The next day

At college

Seeing Prem going to the principal's office Kalpana stopped him calling him by his name.

Kal: Hi Prem

After a long time they met each other.

Prem: hi Kalpana

Kal: how are you?

Prem: I am fine. How are you?

Kal: I am fine

Kalpana was hesitating to say something and it was not unnoticed by Prem. Before he could ask her Kalpana said, "Is your brother out of the country? Prem was hurt. He thought she was going to ask about him. "No, saying so he was about to leave but she stopped him saying, "Why are you leaving this college? A smile appeared on his face. He turned back to face her.

Two days later

Ragahv went to visit his new hotel. His manager Mr. Shekhar was along with him.

Rag: seems like everything is going well

Shekhar: yes sir.

Rag: do you know how long it may take to complete the entire work?

Raghav asked while texting a message to one of his office staffs.

Shekhar: the way it is going on it won't take that long. From next week interior designers will come to design and Ms. Kapoor already started doing her work.

Hearing Kalpana's name Ragahv's hand stopped for a second.

Rag: hm

Shekhar: sir, do you have any other question?

Rag: no.

Shekhar: then let's go

Rag: you go and wait for me in the car. I just will be back

As Shekhar went outside Ragahv came to the top floor where Kalpana was given to work. He saw some paintings here and there in the room but Kalpana wasn't there. As he turned to leave his eyes fell on someone through the glass door in the open area of the floor. He slowly walked to the door. While painting Kalpana's hair was untied. A cool breeze was playing with her hair while she glowed against the moonlight. Ragahv was just watching her standing little far from her. She was looking different and matured in salwar suit. While moving her hair from her face Kalpana's eyes fell on Ragahv. Kalpana looked at Ragahv who was already looking at her. Both of them were standing face to face after a long time. All of a sudden his eyes fell on some color on Kalpana's cheek. Ragahv walked toward her. He raised his hand to wipe it off. He touched her cheek and then looked back at Kalpana who was already looking at him. Both of them were lost into each other for a moment. They came to their sense when his phone rang. Raghav took his hand out. He received the call. "Yah, I am coming, saying so he cut the call. He looked back at Kalpana and said, "I have to go. He turned to leave but stopped hearing Kalpana, "Are you still upset on me? Raghav was still standing facing his back. "I know you are hurt by my harsh words, Kalpana continued, "I am sorry. He turned back to face her and then nodded his head. "I know it was you who recommended me for this job but..., Kalpana paused for a moment and then added, "But I was expecting you to be here. Kalpana was looking at him and was waiting for him to say something in the meantime his phone rang again. Without saying anything Ragahv left from there leaving Kalpana alone.

Two days later

Singhania Constructions

While working on a file Ragahv got a phone call from Maya.

Rag: hey Maya. How is everything?

Maya: everything is fine here. I just wanted to know when you are coming to Delhi.

Rag: I have a meeting with a client in Delhi next week. I may go there for a day or two.

Maya: ok.

Rag: Anything else?

All of a sudden something came up into her mind.

Maya: how is Kalpana?

"She must be fine, Ragahv replied while working on the file.

Maya: is she still with you? I meant to say is she still working for you?

Rag: Why are you showing so much interest in her?

Maya didn't reply.

Maya: Don't you think she is too young?

Rag: I don't think age gap matters. What matters to me is how much you are comfortable with your partner.

Maya: Raghav do you remember when we were in final year you didn't even let new comer come close to you with this thought that they were just kids for you? What happened now?

Rag: I still do the same. I got married to Mahi. We are almost same age.

Maya: I am talking about Kalpana.

Before Ragahv could say anything Maya interrupted him asking, "You both had sex? he excused himself to change the topic.

He leaned back on the chair. He remembered that night he had liked it more than any other night he had spent with other women.

Flashback start

Hotel XYZ

That was the first time Ragahv had to wait for a girl to come near him. After waiting for 15 minutes Ragahv said, "I have only 15 minutes left. Undress. Then he stood up from the sofa and walked toward Kalpana who was still standing facing her back near a window. Feeling someone behind her she slowly turned back to face him. As she raised her head a single look at her made him freeze in his place. There was something which was pulling him toward her badly. For a while he forgot the world, Prem and that trap. He gently brushed her hair aside. He came down to her neck and kissed it gently. His hand touched her hand. Then it gently moved up to her neck, her chest. Kalpana had no idea of what was going on with her body. All she knew was Ragahv's hands on her skin, his lips on her neck and his manly scent had driven her crazy. She softly moaned as hot kisses trailed down her neck. Her fingers tangled in his hair, tried to control the rush of feelings inside her. Her body shivered in excitement but her mind was fixed to deny it.

Raghav came to his sense when his phone rang with Ravi's number.

Present

"Hello, Ragahv answered Ravi's call. "Sir, I have news. I saw Prem with Ms. Kapoor several times. Sometimes in the caf. Sometimes in the park. Sometimes outside walking side by side, Ravi's news made Raghav restless.

Singhania Mansion

Raghav, Prem and Mahi were having dinner while a maid was serving food. "How is your new college? Ragahv asked while eating. "I have decided not to change my college, Prem answered.

Rag: may I know what made you change your decision. So far I know ...

Prem cut his sentence saying, "New college, new people, after a little pause he continued, "I don't know how I will be able to adapt to them. Also my friends don't want me to leave them. Raghav raised his head to look at Prem. "What happened Raghav? hearing Mahi, Ragahv looked at her.

Mahi: aren't you happy with his decision?

Ragahv didn't say anything. He again focused on his meal. After taking one spoonful rice he stood up from his chair.

Mahi: are you done?

Rag: hm

Mahi: you didn't finish your food.

Ragahv didn't say anything. He turned to leave but stopped thinking something. He turned back to face Prem. "I want you to help me in office work after college every day, saying so Ragahv left from there.
