Pasand aae to batana. Naa bhi aae to bhi bata dena please 😆
First Shot
A room not the best or the most beautiful in the world, but had a unique charm of its own being nurtured by the colossal love and trust of two people unreservedly, hopelessly, per fervidly and irrevocably in love with each other, had been as calm and serene as it would be usually at this time of night. All conventional as well as non conventional source of light were turned off, The curtains were down to keep out all the trammels of a sound sleep, yet a dash of moonlight managed to invade through the cracks of curtains, but all it did was give a golden divine like aura to the room , matching perfectly with its tranquility. Breaking the norm a little further there was a faint white light coming from Raghav's mobile phone for he'd been staring at its screen for like five or ten minutes with bated breath. 11:58...11:59 And finally the numbers it read bring out a massive smile around his face for that was what he had been waiting for eagerly. He immediately but gently turned to his right side and there she was; the owner of the eyes that ruled over his stress and tension, the possessor of the smile that ruled over his anger, the cuteness that ruled over his senses, the woman who ruled every little bit of his heart for aye, to be precise. Lying in thrall to him, as a matter of fact, he'd been in thrall to her since the very first day he saw her. He still remembered that heart-warming toothless smile. One hand rested on the pillow while the other around her belly, long hair scattered like flexible climbers about the pillow, dark long eyelashes lying on her cheeks like curtains. She looked so pure and divine as always. What is this strange tingling sensation Raghav felt in every cell of his body, every time he looked at her sleeping face? He needed to figure it out still.
"Happy Birthday meri jaan. Bhagwn mere hisse ki bhi sari khusiya tumhe de de.(May god bless you with all the happiness in the world)" he whispered before he placed a gentle kiss on Kalpi's forehead, keeping his breathing inaudible, careful not to wake her up or else their mission would have ended before it really started. Yes, Mission Mamma's secret birthday party this is what his little partner sleeping peacefully in the other room would call it.
Raghav and Kalpi were in the midst of a wondrous life with no obstruction, no hassle in particular, just some tidbits of everyday life responsibilities and challenges on which they always got a grip and eventually walked over, ascribable to their unbeatable understanding and trust. And to top it off, they had their most powerful weapon against every tension that ever came in their way- the cutest smile of the cutest kid ever- Papa ki doll aur Mumma ki princess. It was Raghav and Kalpi's 4 years old daughter Shirin, who had given them all another reason to live and thanks Bappa, with her birth.
When they'd already been bestowed with immense happiness by their gods, stars and destiny all working together in coordination; when there was no void in their lives joined together as one, Shirin's arrival was like a bonus that perked it up even. It seemed Shirin had got the best of her parents. She had a healthy wheatish complexion like Raghav, long supple hair she got from Kalpi, her eyes were brown with shades of green, rosy lips, chubby cheeks, and she was so beautiful, so lovely and fresh like the first flower in spring. If talk about her habits and nature- that mischievousness, that care freeness, make a mess of the whole house she'd certainly inherited these traits from Raghav. It seemed as if they exchanged their habits post marriage. Raghav who used to be particular about cleanliness, who used to put things in a particular arrangement had now become the most carefree guy in this respect. He would love to draw on walls with Shirin and besmirched the floor with colors. "Uf! Raghav, you were enough, I can't handle two jungly!" Kalpi said it when one day she returned home from work totally exhausted and tired, only to say hello to the sight that magnified it. There was nothing in its proper place, not even the furniture. Not that those non living things had suddenly started moving on their own, it was actually that father-daughter pair who'd decided to play Tom and Jerry indoor. When Kalpi glared at them, they played their coup de maitre- looked at her apologetically with puppy eyes, and Kalpi could swear that it was damn cute. Two pair of brown eyes, equally deep and beautiful looking at her trying or rather pretending to be apologetic, but all Kalpi could see in them were twinkling stars with their ever mischievous glint. She tried to hold onto her smile, but felt it being tugged down. Not wanting to be caught or give up so easily, she went straight to her room, not before bidding them to get her clean and organised house back. Lekin, Shero ne bhi kabhi safai ki hai? Because in next 10 minutes they'd flumped onto sofa, in front of tv and watching kung fu panda 4.
"Adat hai biwi itni aasani se kase jaegi?"(habits are hard to change) Raghav would often say this about his bad habits, smiling that waggish smile of his. "Ye baap beti kabhi mujhe chen ki ek saans nahi lene dete."(they never let me put my feet up) This is what Kalpi would say about the same, getting irritated. And then, suddenly, one day, something happened; something unusual for not everyday this devilishly adorable Jodi of baap-beti(Father and daughter) made their minds to provide Kalpi with not just ek but dher saari sukun ki saasein. And what could have been a better day for putting their plan into action than Kalpi's birthday? The woman who lived only for them, who would see them as her lifeline, however was the reason for their being, the meaning of their existence since always, deserved to feel special once in a while. They knew that she being careless of her own self would forget her birthday this time as well, but they were not going to wish or remind her sooner but with a surprise cute birthday party at home. Shirin settled on to be his manager, when Raghav entrusted his unskilled hands with the task of baking Kalpi's favourite Orange cake and cooking her favourite Chinese and Maharashtrian food. "Kalpi bhi kya yaad karegi ki great Raghav Singhania ne uske liye khana banaya. Tum dekhna beta aisa lazawab khana banauga ki duniya ke bade bade chef bhi mujhse cookery lessons lene aae."(Kalpi will always remember that great Raghav Singhania cooked for her) Raghav hadn't done anything yet and started praising himself for no reason.
"Er...but... papa..." Shirin raised her brows as there arose a doubt in her mind, "Kya aap sure ho ki aap itta sara khana bana loge? Aapko ye sab ata hai?" she questioned, stretching out Itta', her head thrown back as much as she could that she might meet his eyes.(Are you sure you can cook? Do you know how to make all those dishes?) Being all smiles due to a thought that sprang just a moment ago that she looked as cute as Kalpi, Raghav picked her up by her waist and raised her high over his head. "No worries Papa ki doll, google bhai zindabaad!" He spoke up before he twirled her around and got rewarded with her ringing, uncontrollable bouts of laughter, that soon got admixed with his own.
Making his way down Raghav kissed Kalpi's tiny nose, then the corners of her mouth slowly yet savouringly. His eyes then glued to her lips; her pink luscious lips which at the time appeared bright red under faint light. He suddenly felt highly charged with the urge to have the feel of them inside his mouth, uncut. 'You'll be the death of me Mrs. Raghav Singhania." He thought as he stifled a groan that bubbled up from his chest and was anxious to push through his mouth. Not that he hadn't done it before, hadn't felt all turned on out of the blue in the middle of night and woke her and made unshackled love to her until dawn, but tonight, considering the work pressure she usually carried on her delicate shoulders these days, he didn't want to disturb her sleep. It wasn't easy beyond doubt. Oh-hell it is so freaking hard man! Raghav would say this, had one asked him. He could feel his muscles tensing up, his internal control dissolving in the warmth of Kalpi's beauty like sugar dissolves in warm water, yet he'd to do it. His one in a million wife who would take care of everybody needed an unrestricted and undisturbed sleep more than anything else at this moment in time.
As if feeling his warmth and a want to be cocooned even in her sleep, Kalpi stirred and cuddled into him, resting her head against his chest and palm just beside. Raghav smiled taking her into his arms smoothly, as he stuck her more to himself. He could inhale the sweet smell of her apple mint shampoo and his senses swirled into a whirlpool of rapture. In a little while he fell into deep sleep holding her close to his heart, thinking that he would ask her not to stop using this new shampoo she recently started, for he liked it smell.
Next morning, Raghav descended the marble stairs to ground story of their house, sliding his wrist in and snapped yet another lock to secure the watch on his wrist. He went to the dinning area and kept standing there for a while to take in the sight that despite being usual, had always been captivating. Shirin was sitting at the table for breakfast and Kalpi coaxing her to drink down a glass of milk placed before her. Raghav chuckled inwardly wondering when would the day come when she would drink her glass of milk without making faces? And thanks Bappa for blessing him with such a beautiful family that he had. He couldn't have ask for more. As he would say it Bas ab aur kya chaiye zindagi mei(I've reached my EMA 😆), being totally unaware that Bappa and his khusiyo ka pitara were not done with him yet. There was more to come. Just then Kalpi discerned him standing there wearing charcoal grey suit that was tailored to the contours of his body, and a crisp white shirt complementing each other, a silky navy tie was tied around his neck perfectly. His thick black hair was combed neatly; his face was clean shaven today, after having grown out stubbly for a week again. Kalpi had kind of developed liking for his heavily stubbled face by now. He looked neat, clean and handsome clean shaven but with beard he wasn't just handsome but way more than that-hot and sexy. Kalpi noticed that he looked all formal and handsome. Correspondingly Raghav noticed her pretty self clad in salmon pink cotton A line kurta and leggings, long hair tied up in a messy bun, and some wispy flyaway hairs frame her face beautifully, which provided her with an apperance of being a fresh, young blooming bud. They shared a fleeting eyelock for it had gradually become a tendency to look into each other's eyes at times, when their lips remained sealed shut and eyes spoke volumes off the cuff. They exchanged a knowing smile and Raghav walked up to the dinning table. "Good Morning." He said as he unbottoned his coat and took his seat beside Shirin, the resonance in his voice was as chirpy as he was in the morning. Both his beloved girls wished him back merrily in unison. Kalpi poured some orange juice into an elegant crystal glass and handed it to him. "Mai apka breakfast lekar ati hu." She then went to the kitchen, and Shirin finally got a chance to have some private conversation with Daddy dear. "Papa, listen." she spoke in hushed tone. Raghav who just took a sip of the juice, immediately paid attention to her voice and looked toward her face questioningly. She moved closer to him and began speaking again, "Our mission has started. Everything should be as per plan commander!" She spoke in an undertone, more like commanded him. She said, her big eyes widening even more
Raghav opened his mouth to speak but a quick laugh slipped out instead, "Why she had to be so cute?" he chuckled openly at her naivete and leaned closer, whispering "Aye Aye Captain." to tuck a stray lock of her wet hair behind her ear.
Everything had been going well. As they'd expected Kalpi had forgotten her own birthday. A minute later she came back with a tray of toasts and butter. "Shirin, hurry up and finish your breakfast or you'll be late for school." She said and set the tray down on the table and herself on the chair opposite to them.
Shirin didn't say anything but started chewing a mouthful of bread. Her ephemeral furrowed brows at the mention of school didn't go unnoticed by Raghav and he grinned to himself.
Kalpi buttered a piece of toast and put on Raghav's plate. Just when she was about to do one for herself Shirin screamed in pain, or it would be better to say fake pain. One cry out of her mouth was enough to adhere wheels to Kalpi's legs and in a flash she was standing right beside Shirin, while Raghav chooked on his toast, "And there she starts,"
"Kya hua(What happened)?" Kalpi's voice snowed under with concern and worry.
"Aaah Mumma daat mei dard ho raha hai..(My tooth hurts)" Shirin uttered a yelp as she placed her palm flat on her right cheek.
"Daat mei? Achanak kaise(toothache suddenly?) Kaha kis daat mei?"
"Wo... wo ache wale daat mei.."😛 this just slipped out Shirin's mouth impromptu and Raghav really had a hard time controlling his laughter that was fidgeting to push through the boundary of his lips.
"Ache wala daat?" Fresh lines of worry on Kalpi's forehead seemed to be getting replaced by a frown. Finding herself being caught out, Shirin intensified the pitch of her cries and Kalpi got involved in her once again, keeping her ACP Pradyuman wala avtaar aside.
Suddenly her eyes took notice of Raghav's cool and calm reaction. On any other day he would've caused tremendous uproar in the entire house, seeing Shirin in pain. But today he simply sat there like a bump on a log and watched her, the expression around his face read somewhat amazed, much to her disbelief. Little did she know that the cute devil they'd created together left him astonished by her drama in progress.
"Raghav?" She called his name on top of her voice, that swung him into action, as a result he sprung up from his chair swiftly, fumbled for what to say for a second and spoke up in a clumsy way, "Haan, papa ki doll kya hua?" even though he tried to sound worried, as much as he could.
"Dekhe aap ise, and I bring dentist's number!" Kalpi spoke up and hurried to the bottom of the stairs, crept up quickly and hurried down the corridor that lead to her bedroom.
She returned only to find Raghav gathering Shirin up in his arms. Before she could make out the drift of his action, "You go to work, I'll take her to the dentist and then drop home. Waise bhi I don't have any important work or meeting lined up today Raghav sputtered it all on the trot. "But Ragh..." and her words remained in her mouth as him already rushed toward the front door and at the speed of light they both vanished from her sight. Though she wanted to accompany them to his car that was parked outside but couldn't for the reason that she felt faint abruptly, and had to hold on the wall behind to keep from falling.
"Kalpana Mam..." just then their maid Rekha appeared before her. Kalpi could hear she was saying something to her but sounded far away.
"Kalpana Mam are you alright?!" Rekha asked aghast.
"Wo mai..." Kalpi felt the blood rush from her head and she staggered backward, leaning against the wall.
Rekha strode toward her, "Come with me." She led Kalpi to the nearest chair, sat her on it, brought her a glass of cold water and opened all the windows around and let fresh air surge in. The cool air revive Kalpi and she felt less disoriented and dizzy.
"Wait I call Raghav sir." Rekha said but Kalpi stopped her from doing so. Not that she didn't want to disturb him or something like that. She hadn't told this to anyone and had succeeded in keeping from Raghav so far, but such dizziness, morning sickness had been frequent visitors to her, since about a week. And she being mother of a child, had a good idea of what it could be, but didn't want to jump to a conclusion without having it confirmed by her doctor.
"I hope it turns out what I feel it is!" she felt a gush of warmth spread through her being that effectuated the delicate pink colour to tint her cheeks.
Raghav and Shirin drove off to nearby stationery store for Shirin wanted to buy some things she would require to make a gift for Kalpi and that was the principal mode of formation of her toothache natak that she might skip school, about which she hadn't clued in Raghav yet as well.
In the afternoon, Kalpi was sitting in doctor's cabin. As soon as she'd entered her restaurant(Yes Kamla ka dhaaba bht tarrakki kar raha tha😆 😆) few hours ago a wave of nausea had engulfed her and she puked her gut out. So she finally took off from her work and there she was waiting for the doctor. Doctor had done all her test and when she came back there was a huge smile on her face that cemented Kalpi's hope.
"Mubarak ho Kalpana you're pregnant!" said the Doctor as she took her seat infront of Kalpi.
That moment was something whose seed had already germinated in her heart, and doctor's confimation served as food and water, wherefore it shot up to a cross of elation and excitement. How she wished for Raghav and Shirin by her side right now.
"Mumma I want a brother." One day very innocently Shirin had asked Kalpi for a brother, having attended her school friend Kajal's birthday party.
"Brother? Wo kyun?(Why)" Kalpi asked, surprised.
"Haan. Then I'd make him do all my work, like Kajal does with her brother, and you with Pakya Mamu ." Shirin spoke up and Kalpi broke out at her innocence.
"Thank you... thank you so much Doctor!" Kalpi spoke up, a whole hearted smile adorned her face.
"Poore dhai mahine ho chuke hai and since its your second pregnancy, you know very well that you've to be extra careful now." Doctor said and handed Kalpi her priscription.Nodding Kalpi took it.
She smiled trough the tears glittered in her eyes ready to roll down her cheeks anytime, all the while she walked toward the cab waiting for her in the hospital parking lot. The minute she hop in the car, she reached into her bag and pulled her cell phone out. She smiled gently as she texted Raghav.
Anybody wants second shot? Like sach mei koi hai?
