Chapter 2

Kalpana was in her class room waiting for her teacher. Seeing Raghav entered into her class, she mumbled confused, "Why is he here?" Other students were also confused when Raghav said, "Guys, could you please leave this classroom for a while?" "Except her," Raghav said pointing to Kalpana which made Kalpana widened her eyes. Raghav continued, "Please help me give a chance so I can change my girlfriend's mood. Naraaj hain na o mujhsey." Hearing him whole class started whispering to each other, "Girlfriend?" Raghav continued, "I promise, we will be done before your teacher comes." Students already started leaving the class room. Seeing this Kalpana got off from her seat and walked toward Raghav and started shouting, "What the hell are you say...?" Kalpana couldn't complete her sentence when Raghav pulled her more closer to him by her waist and covered her mouth with his hand. Kalpana started to struggle in his arms. When everyone left he left her from his grip and closed the door. He looked back when Kalpana shouted "What are you trying to prove haan?" "You will get to know soon sweetheart," Raghav said and smirked. Kalpana looked at him angrily and continued, "If you think that I am scared of you then you are wrong." "I know you are not," Raghav said with a smile. "If you think that I am regretting for what I did then you are wrong," Saying so Kalpana was about to go to the door to open but stopped when Raghav pulled her and pinned her to the wall. "Stay away," Kalpana said angrily, "Don't try to come near me." He came close to her ear and said huskily, "I will." "If you don't stay quiet tikhi mirchi." Saying so he stood little far from Kalpana leaving Kalpana thinking what actually he was trying to do. She wanted to leave the classroom right way but didn't thinking if he forcefully kissed her again. They were standing like this for 15 long minutes. All this time Raghav's eyes never left her while Kalpana was just cursing him in her mind. After 15 long minutes she couldn't bear him anymore in the same room and went to the door when Raghav pulled her into his arms. He wiped her lipstick from her lips by his thumb and rubbed his thumb on his lips making Kalpana widened her eyes in shock. He held Kalpana with his one hand and his other hand opened the door. Seeing Raghav and Kalpana in each other's arms students were shocked. Kalpana was still shocked standing in his arms. Her trance broke when Raghav pulled her more closely to him and kissed on her cheek saying, "Thank you sweetheart." Raghav left her from his grip and came outside of the class. "Thank you all for helping me," Raghav said to the students wiping his lips who were waiting outside of the class. "Mere girlfriend ab naraj nahi hai," Saying so Raghav looked back Kalpana who was standing behind fuming in anger. After Raghav left whole class started whispering, "OMG! They went this far?" "We know this type of chotey ghar ki ladki. They were only born to trap rich people. They don't even care of going to bed." Hearing this Kalpana's eyes filled with water. She couldn't bear it anymore and left the class room. She went to the washroom to hide herself from the people and their talk for a while. She looked at the mirror and said to her reflection, "Why are you hiding? You didn't do anything wrong that you need to hide yourself. You need to be strong to face all these." She wiped her tear and said in her mind, I came here to fulfill my dream. I will only concentrate on my study. Keeping this in her mind she went to attend the class. After that day she really didn't care what people think about Raghav and her relationship. She didn't care if there is a person named Raghav in her life.

As time passed Raghav got more ignorance from Kalpana which made him crazier for her. As much as he wanted to come closer to her the more she would go far. He couldn't bear her pushing him away like that. First it was his attraction toward Kalpana then unknowingly it turned into his addiction for her now. One day he crossed all his limits,

Flashback

One day Kalpana was with one of her classmate Sandeep in the library. They were talking and laughing about different things. Raghav was watching them from far. He couldn't bear her talking nicely with him and said in his mind fuming in anger; I will ruin their lives whoever will be around you Kalpana. After a while when Kalpana left from there Raghav came and pulled Sandeep up by his collar and said angrily, "What were you both doing here?" Sandeep looked at Raghav scared. "W-w-we were on-ly stu-dying," Sandeep said scared. "Stay away from her," Raghav said jerking him off his seat. The next evening it was raining hard that's why Kalpana took Sandeep's offer for a ride ignoring Raghav's offer dropping her off home. When Sandeep was returning home on the way Raghav blocked his way. Raghav got off from the car and pulled Sandeep off from his car and beat him with the hokey stick. He then sent Sandeep to the hospital with one of his friends and threatened, "For next time be careful." After that incident whole college got to know about Raghav's possessiveness toward Kalpana. From that day boys started to ignore Kalpana. Kalpana went to the police station to file a case against Raghav but police didn't file any case because there was no witness. Sandeep also didn't open his mouth. Sandeep said he didn't recognize who did this with him. That day Kalpana decided to face Raghav. She went to the cafeteria and saw Raghav playing chess with his friends. Raghav checked with his king and blocked the queen. He smirked and said, "King, now queen is all yours. No one dare to come around my queen." Kalpana walked toward the table and moved the queen to a different square and said, "You checked the wrong queen. This is not your and never can be." Raghav got off from his seat and said, "There is only one queen and one king and both of them are belong to each other. There is no power that separates them from each other in the world." Raghav took the queen in his hand and said kissing on it while his eyes were stuck on her, "Tum sirf meri ho." "It will be better for you to accept it as soon as possible." Kalpana understood very well that his words were pointing only to her. Kalpana looked directly into his eyes and said, "This is true that king and queen are belong to each other. They love each other. They have respect for each other. They have trust for each other." Taking the opponent king in her hand she continued, "The king you are talking about has none of these. O sirf hasil karna janta hain. This queen became his jid, jo usey pura karna chata hain." Kalpana gave him a hated look and said, "This queen only hates this king from her heart and this hate never turned into love. It will be better for you to accept that the queen will prefer to die rather than surrender herself." Saying so she was about to leave but stopped when Raghav said, "King doesn't care if queen hates him or not. He is very powerful once he sets his mind on anything he gets it. She became his addiction now. King and his addiction is not a good sign so better to surrender yourself." Raghav said giving a victorious look. Though Kalpana didn't care what he said but there were meaning in his words. (Flashback end)

Kalpana's ignorance not only made him crazy but made him feel she was everywhere.

Flashback

Kalpana borrowed a book from one of her classmates Purvi and she came to return it outside of the club as Purvi said. Kalpana kept calling Purvi's number but she didn't pick up the phone. Raghav was in the same club with his friends. Raghav was drinking. All of a sudden his eyes fell on Kalpana entering into the club. Seeing her, a smile appeared on his lips. Kalpana saw him and started walking toward him with a smile. Raghav was staring at her without blinking his eyes. Kalpana stood so close to him. She ran her fingers on his cheek making him closed his eyes. She leaned and kissed on his both cheeks. Raghav pulled her and made her sit on his lap. His eyes were stuck on her rosy lips. He wanted to capture them at that moment. And without wasting a second he placed his lips on her. While kissing his eyes were closed. In the meantime Kalpana entered into the club to look for Purvi but her eyes fell on Raghav and a girl on his lap kissing. "Issey sirf yehi ata hey," Kalpana said in disgust. Kalpana's words slipped into Raghav s ears which made him open his eyes. Once his eyes fell on Kalpana, if Kalpana is there then who is...Raghav said in his mind. He then realized that he was hallucinating Kalpana as that girl. He jerked the girl off from his lap and came out from the club frustrated. That was not unnoticed by his friends. His friends were also disturbed by his behavior. They were missing their old friend. Raghav decided to talk to Kalpana. But she was already gone from there. (Flashback end)

The next day Raghav went to Kalpana's class but she wasn't in there. He waited for her whole day but there was no sign. Then Raghav decided to go to her work place. He asked the receptionist about Kalpana. Receptionist told him that she was attending a patient at that time and told him where she might be as well. He checked few cabins but he couldn't find her and decided to ask the receptionist again. When he was coming back he heard Kalpana saying from outside of a cabin he didn't check yet, "Ritesh ji, your blood pressure is absolutely normal." Hearing her Raghav entered into the cabin and saw Kalpana was standing beside the bed and checking the patient's blood pressure.

Kalpana's uniform

Raghav didn't like the way Kalpana held the patient's hand and checking his blood pressure. Then his eyes fell on the patient. The patient was around 28 years old. Raghav also noticed that the patient was staring at Kalpana's bare legs lustfully. Seeing this Raghav started cursing the patient in his mind. "You are good to go home Ritesh ji. Let me bring the discharge paper." Saying so Kalpana left from there. She didn't see Raghav because he was hiding behind the door. When Kalpana left Raghav walked toward the bed. "Get up and leave the Hospital now," Hearing Raghav, Ritesh opened his eyes and asked with confused, "Excuse me! Who are you?" "Tera baap," Raghav said. "What do you want? I am still sick and why should I go?" Ritesh asked. Raghav got angry and slapped him hard on his cheek and said, "Didn't nurse tell you that you are absolutely fine then what are you waiting for?" "Why did you slap me?" Ritesh said rubbing his cheek angrily. "That was for staring at a girl lustfully." Raghav slapped his other cheek and said, "This is for you are still at the bed." After few minutes Kalpana came back to the cabin with Ritesh's discharge paper. Seeing the empty bed Kalpana mumbled, "Where did he go?" She checked the bathroom but he was not there as well. "He left." Hearing the voice coming from behind Kalpana looked back and was shocked seeing Raghav standing with his hands into his pockets. "What are you doing here?" Kalpana asked annoyingly. "I am also asking the same to you," Raghav asked her back angrily. "What do you mean?" Kalpana asked and continued, "This is my workplace and I am working here so please leave." Raghav was about to held her hand but was jerked him off by her saying angrily, "Don't try to touch me." If I touch you then there is a problem but if you touch any unknown person that doesn't have any problem right," Raghav shouted. "What rubbish, that's my job and I am not touching anyone on purposely," Kalpana said angrily, "Actually, why should I answer a jerk like you?" Hearing her Raghav clenched his fist angrily. He held Kalpana by her arm and brought her more closer to him and said angrily, "If I am a jerk then what about that patient who were staring at you lustfully?" Hearing him Kalpana understood that it was him who made Ritesh leave the hospital. Kalpana's trance broke when Raghav shouted again, "If you have any problem to be around a jerk like me then what were you doing with that jerk haan?" Kalpana didn't want to make any scene as that was her workplace. She thought something and said, "Look, this is my workplace and I don't want to make any scene. I would appreciate it if you leave this place." Raghav released her arm and said, "I need to talk to you." "I can't, this is not the place to talk," Kalpana said quietly. "Okay, let me wait for you outside," Saying so Raghav left from there. After two long hours Kalpana finished her duty for the day. She came outside of the hospital and seeing a Rikshaw standing outside she got into it. "Bhaia chaliya," Kalpana said to the rikshaw driver. Driver was about to go but stopped when Raghav stood in front of the rikshaw blocking the way. Seeing Raghav Kalpana mumbled shocked, "Is he still here?" Raghav walked toward her and got into the rikshaw forcefully which made Kalpana widened her eyes. "Chaley," Raghav said fixing himself beside Kalpana in the Rikshaw. Before she said anything driver already started the rikshaw. "Stop the rikshaw," Kalpana shouted. "Don't you dare stop until I said, "Raghav ordered. The driver was in dilemma of who he should listen. Kalpana was hesitating to sit beside him. She wanted to jump from the rikshaw but Raghav was holding her hand tightly. The driver stopped near a park as Raghav said. Both of them got off from the rikshaw. After paying the driver Raghav held Kalpana's hand and dragged her into the park. "What the hell. Why did you bring me here?" Kalpana shouted trying to release her hand. "I didn't bring you here. Yes, it was you who made me to bring you here." Hearing him Kalpana lowered her eyes. She knew that what he was saying true. He was waiting for her outside but it was her who got into the rikshaw without meeting him. Raghav looked at a couple talking and walking interlocking hands lovingly. He then looked at Kalpana who was standing facing her back to him. "Look Kalpana, I need to talk to you," Ragahv said making her face him. "But I don't have time to listen to your bakwas," Kalpana said looking into his eyes directly. "Why do we always fight? Why can't we behave normally like them?" Raghav said pointing to the couple. Hearing him Kalpana mumbled, "Does he really think he is normal?" Kalpana looked at him surprised when Raghav apologized saying, "Look Kalpana, I am sorry. That day you saw me with a girl in the club but trust me I thought it was you and ..." Kalpana didn't let him finish and said, "Done?" The way Kalpana said it he felt dejected and said, "What do you mean?" "I said if you are done then let me go. I have to prepare for tomorrows exam," saying so Kalpana was about to leave the place but was pulled by Raghav with her arm. "The India's most famous businessman's only son was waiting for you for the whole day to talk to you but you didn't give any damn," Raghav shouted at her, "You can't ignore me like this Kalpana. I never went after any girl. You are the only responsible who put me in this situation and it's not possible for me to move on. Kalpana, tum mere zindegi se jor gayi ho and it's not possible to separate. My life got stuck here. Did you get this?" Kalpana was just listening to him quietly without uttering a word. He never said he likes her or love her. All she found was craziness toward her. She released herself from his grip and said softly, "Look, first of all, I really don't have any interest in your personal life. Second of all, I don't have any time for this. Every second, every minute is very important in my life. I was not born like you. If you don't work, there is always someone who will support you. If you don't go to college, there is someone who already prepared for your better future. But I have none to support me. I struggle every minute to help myself survive. My baba is sick. Doctor said he won't be able to survive that long. After my baba I will be all alone." Hearing her, all of a sudden Raghav's expression softened. "I already have lot of things to think about in my life. I can't bear to take any more. Anyway, you won't understand. I don't know why I am saying this to you. I already spent one hour here and to cover this I have to stay awake tonight," Saying this Kalpana left from there leaving Raghav in deep thought. After Kalpana left he spent some time in the park all alone. He was in dilemma. Kalpana became a part of his life which he couldn't take away. On the other hand Kalpana was so busy with her struggling life that she couldn't give any space for Raghav in her life. I have to do something that I don't have to lose her and she can release with her struggling life, Raghav thought.

Vittal was pacing back and forth in the living room tensed. Once Kalpana entered into the house he asked, "Who was that boy with you in the park?" "I was in the bus passing through and saw you talking with a boy." Hearing him Kalpana told him that he was that person she already told him about. She also assured Vittal not to worry about it. "How can't I worry?" Vittal said, "He seemed like a bad person." He held Kalpana's hand and said, "Beta, stay away from him. I want you to change the college." "Baba, don't take too much tension," Kalpana said, "I don't have to change the college. Now let me study. Tomorrow I have an exam." After dinner Vittal went to bed and Kalpana to study. Vittal was laying on the bed but his sleep was far way. After seeing Kalpana with Raghav he became very restless. He knew Raghav very well that he hid from Kalpana. He didn't tell that Raghav was his Malik Vikram's only son. Very spoiled. Vital saw Raghav with so many girls when he used to visit Singhania Mansion for work purpose. If Kalpana would know that her baba works for Raghav's father then she would not allow him to work. She would get a chance to make him resign from his job. She never wanted her baba works at this stage. It was only him who wanted to work and didn't want to become her burden. From his salary he would save some money for Kalpana's marriage. He thought how much she will do. She works in the hospital and gets order from Boutique shop and design salwar suits at home alone with her study. Most of her earnings she would spend for household and Vittal's treatment.

The next day Gauri went to pick up her new eye glasses. She came out from the store and saw driver was not there. She was going to call the driver but all of a sudden a young man walked toward her and snatched her purse pushing her back hard that caused her to fall on a small rock laying on the sidewalk. Her forehead was bleeding. She felt very weak that she was having problem to stand up. There were lots of people who were just watching her but no one came to help her. Kalpana was passing from there to go to college. Seeing a crowd she went to see what exactly happened. Seeing a mid age lady laying holding her bleeding forehead Kalpana walked toward her and said, "Aunty ji, are you okay?" Gauri shaked her head in pain. she helped Gauri to make her stand. She looked people around and said angrily, "Don't you have any humanity? You people were just watching instead of helping. Shame on you." Seeing so much concern shown to her Gauri looked at Kalpana lovingly. "Aunty ji, you are bleeding a lot. Let me take you to the hospital," Saying so Kalpana took Gauri to the same hospital where she works. Kalpana put a bandage by herself. Gauri asked while kalpana was bandaging her, "Do you work here beta?" "Yes Aunty," Kalpana replied. "Why did you choose to be a nurse than anything else?" Gauri asked her with curiosity. Hearing her Kalpana smiled and said, "I chose to be a nurse because logo ko seba karna mujhey pasand hai." Kalpana told Gauri to call her driver handing her phone. In the meantime one of Kalpana's colleagues entered into the cabin and seeing Kalpana there she asked, "Kalpana, what are you doing here? So far I know you have an exam today." Hearing her Gauri apologized and said, "Beta, you should have told me before that you have an exam today? For me you are late for the exam." Gauri was shocked and it touched her heart at the same time when Kalpana said, "Aunty ji, you are more important than my exam." She added, "If I failed to take the exam on time I still have a chance to retake next year. I will just miss one year, that's it. This is totally in our hand. But if anything happens to you then there won't be any possibilities to comeback. And it is not in our hand." "Kalpana! That's your name right?" Gauri asked. Kalpana nodded in yes. Gauri continued, "Your parents must be proud to have a daughter like you." Kalpana just smiled. "Aunty ji, you take care," Kalpana said with smile. She told her colleague to take good care of her. Gauri insisted Kalpana that her driver will drop her off to the college but she refused to take help. Before Kalpana left Gauri blessed her for her exam. Gauri's driver came and told her that there was a sign of less gas in the car that's why he went to get gas. He tried to call Gauri but she didn't pick up the phone because the phone was in the purse that the thief stole. That day Kalpana was about half an hour late for the exam. Though she was late for her exam but she passed in real life amusing Gauri. Kalpana was unaware about the fact that the person who she helped today will be her biggest strength in her life. That person will stand for her as a pillar.

On the other hand Vittal was on the way going to his work. While walking he was thinking about Kalpana and Raghav. He was very tensed. Since he saw Raghav and Kalpana together he could not take that away from his mind. On top of that he couldn't sleep whole night. He felt very sick while walking on the road. All of a sudden he started to feel everything go blank and he fell on the road becoming senseless. A young police officer was sitting on his bike waiting for the light to change and his eyes fell on Vittal who was laying on the side walk. He got off from his bike and ran toward Vittal. "Oh my god, he became senseless," Saying so the police officer took him to the nearest Hospital. After one hour Vittal gained his sense. "Uncle, how are you feeling now?" The officer said. "What happened to me? And why am I here?" Vittal asked. The police officer caressed his hair and said, "Uncle, I found you laying on the side walk senseless then I brought you here." Hearing him Vittal thanked him and said, "Can you please call my daughter?" "Sure uncle. Please give me her number," Saying so he dialed Kalpana's number. But Kalpana didn't response the call because she was taking her exam and her phone was on silent mood. After attempting five times the police officer said, "She is not picking up the phone." "Oh, I am sorry. She might be taking her exam," Vittal said. "Uncle, don't worry, I am here until your daughter comes," The police officer said with smile. "Beta, you might have duty. You can go. Don't worry about me," Vittal said. The police officer said, "I had night duty and I was going back home. Let me take a cup of coffee and I will be fine," Saying so he left from there. After he came back he told Vittal about himself that he transferred here one week ago and he doesn't know anybody here, he was the only son of his parents and his parents died in a road accident two years back. Vittal also told the police officer about himself and Kalpana.

After Kalpana's exam she saw five missed calls from an unknown number and she dialed that number thinking those calls might be important. "Hello! Kalpana said. Hearing her sweet voice he had an urge to see the girl. "Sorry, actually I called you to inform you that your father was in the hospital but don't worry he is fine now," The police officer said. Hearing him without wasting a second she left from there tensed. Kalpana reached the hospital in 15 minutes. She entered into the cabin and saw Vittal sitting on the bed. She jumped into his arms and started throwing hundreds of questions while sobbing, "How did this happen?" "Why didn't he take rest?" "why was it necessary to go to work...etc?" But she didn't realize that someone else was also present there. He was just watching father and daughter's love to each other silently. Vittal broke the hug and said, "Beta, I am fine." "He brought me here," He said pointing to the police office. Kalpana looked back and walked toward him. Their eyes met. He was so lost in her beauty. How a person can be so beautiful, he thought. His trance broke when Kalpana said with smile, "I don't know how I am going to thank you." Hearing her he said in his mind, if you want to return then come into my life. "Hi! I am Prem Kapoor and you?" The police officer said extending his hand. "Kalpana," Kalpana replied taking his hand in shake. "Thank you for bringing my baba here," Kalpana said. "If you invite me for a cup of coffee then I will think that you are really thankful to me," Prem said teasing. "Sure beta," Vittal said, "Come to our house for dinner tomorrow." Vittal found Prem very decent that's why he allowed him to his house.

The next day Gauri came to the hospital to change the bandage. Once she entered she asked for Kalpana if she was on duty today. "Mam, she is coming in late today as her father's health condition is not that great," Receptionist said. Hearing her Gauri felt bad for Kalpana's baba and also she won't be able to meet her. She felt some connection with Kalpana. After her first meeting with Kalpana she couldn't remove her from her mind. She always wanted a child like Kalpana, sweet, loving, caring, respect to elders. She was always looking for these qualities in Raghav but he was the total opposite of these. He was very spoiled since childhood. He would love to spend time with his friends rather than his parents. Friends, partying became his life. It was too late now to come back to the normal life. Gauri asked for her address but the receptionist denied giving her as it was Kalpana's strict order.

In the evening Prem came to Singhania chawl for dinner. He liked Kalpana's food. After having dinner he said, "After my mom passed away this is the first time I was able to eat homemade food." "The food is too tasty. It reminded me of my mom." Hearing him Vittal said, "Beta, I am glad that you liked it. Do come sometimes." "I will surely come," Prem said looking at Kalpana who was working in the kitchen.

Two days later Gauri again came to the hospital to meet Kalpana. She was lucky. It was Kalpana's half day. After her duty both Gauri and Kalpana spent some time in the nearest park. Gauri loved to spend time with her. She felt some motherly peace with her. They had normal talk in between them. Nothing personal. "Beta, do you mind if I come to meet you sometimes?" Gauri asked. "Sure Aunty. Please do come whenever you want," Kalpana replied with smile. Kalpana also liked to spend time with Gauri. She felt relief for some time whenever Gauri was with her. All of a sudden Gauri asked, "Kalpana, where do you study?" "I am going to xyz college," Kalpana replied. Hearing her Gauri said, "Oh, then you must know my son," Gauri said, "He is also going to the same college. He is a Masters final year student." "What is his name?" Kalpana asked. "His name is Ra..." She couldn't finish as her phone rang. "Excuse me." Saying so Gauri picked up the call. It was an emergency call that's why she had to leave from there.
