"What the ...what just happened ?? " she muttered to herself as she now exited the premises of the local police station.

One moment , the inspector was all so mean to her & now ? And what did he mean upar se orders ? Who would do that for her ? Her aai ...she had no contacts , her baba was nothing but useless, then who ?

A eureka moment later ,

'Oh... It must be sahil uncle. It has to be ! But I never knew he had such contacts. But Paakhi ...I hope she's alright ...'

"Partner , are you alright ?" She backed up a few steps , the sudden presence of someone standing right in front of her startled her. To be honest it wasnt just the sudden presence but the question the person had asked as she looked up at him. When was the last time when anybody had asked her whether she was alright ? She didn't even try recollecting for she already knew the answer. None ! Her tomboy facade always made her appear the strong one ...so much so that it seemed the ppl around had forgotten that she was human as well ...a human with her own flaws , weakness' & pains. Slowly it had become her attitude as well as she got used to it ...but today ? She didn't know but there was this warm feeling that spread within as it reflected on her lips in form of a minute smile.

It was the first time in her life she understood how it felt when someone asks you - "Are you alright ?" It felt good , it really really felt goo...

(This was the major reason my sister even started liking jiju ...though the tube light understood it bohut baad mein 😆 Ull understand why I say so...I wonder itna stubbornness laati kaha se thi woh ...jiju was after all a heartthrob of college & all he did was waste time behind her , on top of it bear all her tantrums as well. He deserved a noble ...lol😆😛)

Just when she had put a step forward preparing to walk away as their shoulders aligned with each other she heard him , an amused tease in his voice

"Oh really ?? So you are trying to say that you are going to get out of this accusation of being involved in drug trafficking all by YOURSELF huh ? "

She stopped in her tracks as she allowed his words to be seeth through her head. 'Drug trafficking' - that in itself sounded so humongously criminal ...being falsely accused for it is a different case all together. What was she gonna do ? She was clueless...

Letting out a deep breath , she turned to look at him straight in the eye & answered

"Yes !"

And walked away.

Kalpana gulped as she stared at his humongous empire. In the morning she had said to Raghav that she would manage things on her own , but now - standing outside Prem Kapoor's house she was seriously giving second thoughts on her decision.

Putting a step forward , nearing the gate she read the board - 'Beware of dogs'.

" Indeed , iss ghar mein toh kutta hi rehta hai" she mumbled to herself to distract her mind - a mind that was freaking out on the fact that she was accused for a drug conspiracy case , a mind that was afraid of entering the enemy's territory to get proofs to prove her innocence , a mind that was also scared of ...umm...umm..err...

"OK Kalpana Jadhav ..you aren't scared of dogs ! Besides medical science has advanced soo much. Just because u had to take 16 injections when u were a kid after a dog had bitten you ... doesn't mean you will have to take those same horrible injections again. And you never know , maybe the dogs would be asleep ...or ...or "

With hesitant steps she continued walking as she got nearer & nearer & nearer to the gate ...peaking through the grill she saw the huge black dog & its brown partner dog asleep. She huffed a sigh of relief , they were tied as well.

Tididing-ding-tididingding-ding ...it was her god damned phone - the traditional Nokia ringtone which she never bothered to change. That very moment she felt she should have since it somehow manages to pierce through the ears of ...Idk ..even a person standing at a distance of 1km ! And here ? P : Kalpuuu ... I'm so so so so sorry ! I heard what happened - its all my fault , all of it is ! Neither would i have been to the prom with Prem nor would you have fallen in trouble while saving me. She could hear Paakhi 's sobs on the other side of the phone as she herself felt bad for shouting at her earlier. The poor girl only wanted to apologize ..

Kalpana chuckled at Paakhi 's innocence , mentally thanking God that she was in that whole complicated situ & not Paakhi.

K : Ok so listen ...I'm here in this place so I can gather something against him & some proofs in my favor ...I'm outside Prem's house Paakhi !

P : You what ? Have you gone mad ? Have you totally gone crazy ? I was just about to speak to dad about the situation u are in ...I know he'll definitely do something. We'll hire the best detectives & lawyers ...but you first go home kalpi , please ! It isn't safe ...

Disconnect , she pressed it ! She trusted nobody but herself in this matter she thought determinately & got up from her place. Staring at Prem's house from afar , she rolled up her sleeves .. "It was time he realized that he'd messed up with a wrong person!" & prepared to run in Prem's house's direction...

She hadn't even moved an inch when ...
