Chapter 7
They finally entered the venue after a range of security checks & assuring that every being had a partner. The fake smile never left their faces ...but their petty remarks continued even during the checks
R : Will u stop tugging at my blazer please ? Its damn expensive ...K : Shuttup !!! Or else I'll stamp ur shoes as well ...
Once inside Kalpana immediately unhooked her arm from Raghav's & went hunting for Paakhi as she vanished somewhere in the crowd. She knew she was being rude , but Paakhi was her cheif priority that moment... especially when she knew her behavior of getting carried away easily.
Minutes later she noticed paakhi in the centre of the stage dancing with Prem. For the first time in her life Prem seemed decent the way he was dancing her , not too far ...nor too close. Prem had even smiled at her & waved a 'Hi' on seeing her standing at a distance. Out of formality she had returned it as well , but she yet distrusted Prem. To avoid being extra nosy she had now walked away from the dance floor & stood in a corner. Glancing around , yes there weren't many of her friends present there ...if there were , they were busy swooning to the music & she was in no mood of kicking Prem (if required) with aching legs, she had to hit him such that he won't even think of coming close to Paakhi thereafter. Contradicting all those violent thoughts that were going on her head she smiled at Prem when she had caught him smiling at her yet again ... & turned around to leave. That entire affair was making her feel awkward , the dress in which she was didn't make the things easier.
"Hey ...hey ...hey , look who's here ? And that too all hot & sexy in red eh !! "
She rolled her eyes with irritation...'And here I thought I had only Prem to deal with !' As she turned around to the familiar sounding voice. It was a senior .. the very guy she had punched in the nose the first day of her college coz he waz bullying a junior. They hadn't come across much ever since.
But now that they were , Kalpana was sure that he's gonna have it from her again.
Senior : Who would have imagined something like this would ever happen ? KJ at the freshers ...how did u get a partner in the first place ? I'm damn sure u must have threatened him as well ...didn't u ?
SMACK !!!! She had slapped him right across his face. Lol ...she was female who believed more in actions than in words !
K : I wud appreciate u from the bottom of my heart if u start minding ur own business than poking ur ugly nose into mine !
The senior wasn't a person who would stay quite as he marched onto Kalpana & pushed her hard. She would have revolted if she hadn't hurt herself by colliding against the broken corner of a table and was now holding her stomach out of pain. The music around was loud enough to not make this scene grab any attention...
S : Last time u were lucky , this time u won't be !
And before he could make any other move Kalpana felt somebody standing before her , as if for defence. It was Raghav. She looked up at him with awe , for the first time. For the first time in her life she was witnessing a man stand up for her , unlike many who had just caused probs for her the entire time...
It wasn't very late that the senior had been injured & had left the place threatening Raghav.
R : Oh crap Partner ! U r injured !!!
K : (holding her stomach) No I'm not !! This is just ... Nothing ...
R : Once u r done tell me , then we wud be going to the hospital to treat the so-called nothing of urs ...
K : I am not leaving without Paakhi
Raghav looked down at her with surprise and then scrolled through the people dancing on the floor until he spotted Paakhi. That's when he understood Kalpana's motive & the reason behind her desperation to come to the party.
R : Hmm... Then at least u can walk up to my car right ? It has a first aid box in it ...
Minutes later they were walking out of the party , away from the music & all unknown people ...to Raghav's car.
Now hopping onto the driver's seat, yet holding onto her stomach she waited for Raghav to arrive. He came back almost immediately with the first aid material in hand
R : Remove your hand Kalpana , so that I can see the wound.
K : Who do u think u r ? U being a gold medalist in some xyz subjects doesn't make u a doctor ...
R : Haalat dekh yaar apni ... Naatak baad mein kar !!
She knew he was right. But there was a cut in her dress near her waist, just the place where the broken table had scratched her & had left a few traces of blood. How could she trust him ? Afterall how long has she being knowing him ...a mere 1-1/2 week ...but she also couldn't deny that he'd never been troublesome for her ...like on purpose. But before she could think & further ...act , react or overreact she felt a bump and was pushed to the seat beside. The car had started the very next moment ... K : What the !!!
R : U were right ! I am no doctor ...which means u shud be taken to one.
K : Ok see ...I'm alright !!
Paying no heed to any of her talks he continued to drive. It wasn't an easy task though ...her rebellions & ways of stopping the car ...he had to be on high alert. It all went on for a while until
K : OK fine ! I'll do the first aid thing ...but no Doctor ! I haven't been to one since I was 6 ...
The car screeched to a halt as Raghav looked back at her astonishingly.
R : You haven't what ?
K : What ? Don't give me that look ! I ...umm...never fell ill !
She saw him narrow his eyes before grabbing the first aid kit from the back seat.
K : (taking it from him immediately) I'll do it on my own !
He didn't argue on that as he got off the car in order to give her some privacy. But he yet continued to talk to her
R : Agar pehle Hi maan jaati toh...
K : Agar pehle Hi pucha hota toh ...
R : You have an answer for everything ...dont u ?
K : You bet ??
R : Hahahaha .. & maybe that's why I'm liking being here with u , away from those red lipped vampire girls back there who are all ready to eat every bit of me for dinner ?
K : What are u talking about ?
R : Partner ...u shud have stayed with me a bit longer & u wud have known by ur ownself. That tina female tonight ...trust me , she was only left to strip in front of me.
K : Hehehe ... I'm great dealing with such people, u should have called me then ! I'm sure Sammy must have told u bout me in detail ...
R : In that case u shud have been there the last week ... I was seriously bugged up refusing girls for this evening.
K : Your bad ...what else can I say ?
R : Btw ... Why had u been away from college that week ? Just because Mathur asked us to call ur dad ..
'Hisss' was the sound taht had come from within the car.
R : Partner ? Are u fine ?
K : Yaaa ...
And the doors had opened as she got down from the car.
K : Nobody ...I repeat nobody questions bout my dad !!!
Her index finger pointed at him in a warning. But when she saw him , he wasn't looking at her ...instead he was looking at the surroundings around.
R : Errr... Partner , where are we ???
I was exhausted while writing an update of shots ... Thought why not update this ... This one's a tp story & ull are free to bash it if at all ull dislike it ! But if ull like it ...then cmon guys ...hehehe ...at least make me feel so & that I shud continue by pressing the like button below.
