Chapter 21

Somehow he managed to hold her but accidentally held her back causing the zipper to open that made Kalpana stop. "Sorry Kalpana," He was about to zip up her dress but stopped as his eyes fell on those marks that were due to the villagers throwing the rocks at her. His finger traced the marks and said, "What is this mark for Kalpana?" Kalpana was shocked as she didn't want Raghav know about her scars. She didn't want him to get upset knowing that she suffered a lot to save his child. Kalpana immediately moved to face him and said, "O, actually, Raghav ji, I had chicken pox a year ago, so these are the marks for it. It will heal as time passes." Saying so Kalpana ran from there. But Raghav was not convinced as he knew that these scars didn't look like the chicken pox. "Is Kalpana hiding something from me? Raghav said worriedly. He then decided to talk to her later.

People were enjoying the Holi. Ladies were dancing to music. Kalpana also joined them as she knew Bollywood dance a little bit. Raghav was watching her in awe.

Kalpana entered into the house to bring paan. As she entered a strong pair of hands pulled Kalpana by her waist to the corner of the door. She was about to scream but she was moved to face the person immediately. Seeing the person, Kalpana said shocked, "Raghav ji aap?" Without saying anything Raghav put color on both cheeks and said, "Happy Holi to my beautiful lady." "Happy Holi, Raghav ji." Kalpana said putting some color on Raghav's cheek. Then both of them shared an intense eye lock. They broke the eye lock and Raghav said caressing her cheek, "Kalpana, I would like to make this Holi with you until I live." Before Raghav could say anything both heard a lady's voice. "Kalpanaaa! Paan kahan heyyy!" Kalpana said, "Oh my god I forgot," saying so she was about to leave but stopped as Raghav held her hand saying, "I am not done yet." Kalpana said, "Raghav ji I will be back. I promise." She ran from there.

Before Kalpana could stop Raghav he had already drank three glasses of bhaang saying, "Kalpana please let me enjoy this Holi. I haven't enjoyed before as much as I am now."

Kalpana and Raghav enjoyed this Holi together as if there were no tomorrow...

One day Raghav was showing all his family pictures from the family album to Kalpana while Aarav was playing with his toy in front of them in the living room. The album was full of Raghav's childhood pictures. "Raghav ji, Look at this picture, you were looking so cute." Kalpana said showing a picture. Raghav then saw the picture and said, "Is this my picture?" "I thought it is Aarav's picture," Seriously I am looking like him in this picture." He added very proudly, "Keyun nahi, o mara beta jo hain," "You know what Kalpana, my mom would say, I used to do the same shararati as Aarav does." Pointing at Aarav. Kalpana thought smiling, why not?

The next day, Raghav decided to take Kalpana out for shopping. In the mall Raghav choose lots of designer dresses for Kalpana though she refused. Kalpana was trying on the dressing in the trial room while Raghav was waiting outside. All of a sudden Raghav's eyes fell on a beautiful red and golden lehenga. When Kalpana came out from the trial room Raghav handed over the lehenga and said, "Kalpana I want you to try this one." Looking at the heavy designs Kalpana said, "Raghav ji I can't wear this it seems too heavy." "Please Kalpana, for me. Try once." Kalpana couldn't deny as Raghav was pleading. Seeing her with the lehenga Raghav couldn't find any words to express how she was looking. HE then led her to a big mirror and draped her dupatta on her head and hugged her from behind and said resting his chin on her shoulder, "Now you are looking as my dulhan."

A pair of eyes was watching this whole scenario from behind. After finishing the call a man entered into the store and said, "Ria, if you are done then let's go." Seeing Ria with watery eyes, her dad looked to the direction where her eyes were glued to he saw Raghav and Kalpana. A tear escaped from her eyes and she left the mall without buying anything.

In the car Ria didn't say a word but was just weeping silently, they are in love... Her dad felt bad seeing her in this state.

After reaching home Ria made a phone call to her lawyer and said to prepare the divorce papers ready as soon as possible. Hearing the phone conversation Ria's dad put his hand on her shoulder assuring her. Ria said, "Dad, as soon as I get divorced, I will leave this country forever. I will settle in USA." Ria's dad said shocked, "Have you gone made Ria?" "I can't let you go away from me." Then Ria said, "Dad, if I stay here I won't be able to forget Raghav," saying so she left from there leaving Ria's dad dumbstruck. He said in his mind, Ria you can't do this to me.

Raghav got call from his lawyer and was very happy knowing that Ria finally agreed to give divorce. He planned something and left the office soon.

"Raghav ji, this place is so beautiful." Kalpana said fascinated with the view. "I knew you will like this place that's why I have brought you and Aarav here." Raghav said hugging her from behind.

They reserved a resort close to the beach. Whole day they enjoyed their time in the beach. At night Kalpana was smiling while thinking about how they spent time together while trying to make Aarav sleep. "This is the best time to talk to Raghav ji about Aarav as he was so much busy past few days." Kalpana put Aarav on the crib and left from there.

Kalpana opened Raghav's room and as soon as the door was opened she was in awe seeing the room decoration with colorful candles. "Like it?" Raghav said from behind, "For you." Kalpana nodded her head. Raghav then whirled her to face him and brought a small box from his pocket and opened it. "Wow, it is so beautiful," Kalpana said seeing the beautiful diamond ring. Raghav then slid the ring on her ring finger and said with all his love kissing on her ring, "Finally our dream will come true soon," he added, "We are going to be one soon," "We are going to marry soon." Hearing him Kalpana's eyes filled with tears of joy. Raghav then held her face and kissed on her both eyes one by one softly and said wiping her tears, from now on I don't want to see tears in your beautiful eyes," he added, "I want to see only love in those eyes for me." Raghav then kissed her both cheeks then without any warning he placed his lips on hers. First the kiss was so soft then it turned into a passionate pulling her more toward him by her waist. They broke the kiss and shared an intense eye lock. Kalpana then thought something and said, "Raghav ji, I need to talk to you abo..." but stopped as Raghav took her in his arm and placed her on the bed.

Kalpana also smiled stroking his hair. Kalpana said softly, "Raghav ji, I need to talk to you." "Han bolo na, I am listening." Kalpana then took all the courage and said, "Actually it is about Aarav," She added, "App sun raha hey na Raghav ji?" "Hmm." Hearing Raghav Kalpana started, "Raghav ji I am sorry to hide you the real identity of Aarav." "He is actually..." and stopped hearing no sound from Raghav. "Raghav ji, are you awake?" Kalpana then saw him sleeping. She then said in her mind, I have failed to tell him again. Both of them were sleeping in each other's arm peacefully.

The next morning Raghav and Kalpana had to leave for Mumbai as something important came in the office.

One evening Kalpana was waiting for the driver. All on a sudden she heard someone was calling her by her name and she looked back and saw Akash was standing with smile. "Hi, Kalpana, glad to see you after a long time." Akash said with smile. "Yah," Kalpana said with smile too. Remembering whatever happened in the past, Kalpana was hesitating. Seeing her hesitating Akash understood and said, "Would you mind to have a cup of tea together until your driver comes."

Both of them were having tea in a nearby caf. "I am sorry Akash ji for whatever happened." Kalpana said. "It's okay Kalpana," Akash said with a smile, "I thought I would be the luckiest person." "If not life partners then can we be friends?" Kalpana said, "Why not?" Kalpana was about to leave the caf when Akash stopped her by saying, "Can we have coffee at the same time tomorrow?" "Oh sorry but I have to go to a field trip from college tomorrow for two days so... maybe another time?" Then she left from there.

Raghav dropped off Kalpana and Aarav to the clinic for Aarav's regular checkup. Three of them were waiting in the waiting room. They got into the cabin when they were called. Raghav left the cabin saying, "I have to go for a very important meeting when you are done the driver will pick you up." Kalpana and the doctor were talking while checking Aarav. On the other hand Raghav went near the car and came back to the clinic as he left his coat and his car keys in the cabin.

Doctor asked, "Ms. Kalpana, why hasn't Aarav have circumcise done when he was born?" "After he was born he had little fever so the doctors didn't want to do it." Kalpana said. The doctor said, "Was it normal delivery or C-section?" "It was normal." Kalpana replied. Then doctor asked, "What is this?" pointing to a spot on Aarav's arm. "Did he get cut?" "No," Kalpana replied, "This is not due to the cut but birthmark." Someone was shocked hearing Kalpana's and doctor's whole conversation as he stood behind them. The person didn't get a chance to think anything further as he got a call. "Raghav where are you?" Sammy said on the phone. "I am coming." Saying so Raghav took his coat from the chair and left.

Raghav couldn't pay any attention to the meeting as his head was roaming with thoughts recalling the conversations between the doctor and Kalpana. He then remembered the other day when Kalpana was talking about seizure. He then thought of asking Kalpana directly that how she knows a lot about Aarav when she wasn't there when Aarav was born.

Raghav decided to talk to Kalpana later as she already left for the trip. Raghav became very restless thinking about the conversations. He thought, what is the connection between Kalpana and Aarav? The amount Kalpana knows about Aarav, only a real mother would know about her child. I saw Kalpana like a real mom with Aarav. I saw her very nervous when Aarav is sick, she is happy when Aarav is happy, She cries when he cries. Is Kalpana hiding something from me? No, why will she? Then he thought immediately, there might be some reason that's why Kalpana doesn't want me to know. Kalpana I want to be a part of your life so I want to share all your pain as well as happiness. Let me call Anita di. So far I knew that Anita di brought Aarav's mom from the village where she works. He then called Anita and said, "Anita di, actually I need a favor, would you please introduce me with Aarav's real mother as I need to know about Aarav as I always failed to answer doctor's questions related to his birth. Hearing Raghav on the other side, Anita said, "Sorry Raghav, I can't help you with this," "This was a strict order as I will not disclose the child's real mother's identity," Raghav if you have any questions about his birth then I will try to answer you as I was there when he was born." "Okay Anita di, I will call you again if I have any question regarding Aarav." Raghav cut the call and said in frustration, "Why his real mom doesn't want to reveal the identity?" Before Kalpana returned from her trip he decided to go to the same village from where Anita brought Aarav's real mom.

The very next day Raghav reached the village and asked some villagers if anyone has seen the girl in this village showing Kalpana's picture. But all the people said that they didn't see this girl. All on a sudden a 16 years old girl came and said, "Let me ask my bua as I am new here and you are talking about the girl who used to live here a year ago." Saying so she showed the picture to her bua. Seeing the picture bua recognized and said, "How can I forget this ladki?" Hearing her Raghav said, "Please tell me what you know about her?" Bua said, "This ladki is very characterless." Hearing her Raghav shouted, "How dare you say that!" "Why not?" Bua said, "Without getting married she got pregnant!" "Look," Raghav said, "You must be talking about someone else!" Saying so Raghav was about to leave when he heard her saying, "You are talking about Kalpana right?" Raghav stopped and turned around not believing his ears and said, "wh...wha...what did y...you s...say?" Bua said, "This girl you are talking about is Kalpana right?" Raghav's jaw dropped. Then bua started, "When Kalpana was found pregnant then villagers punished her by throwing stones at her and when she was unconscious they threw her near the train station." She added, "Sir, Kya kahu aapko, bohot buri tara usko panishe kiya," "I was wondering if she is alive"

Anita was seeing a patient but got interrupted hearing loud heavy footsteps coming her way. She turned around and was facing Raghav. Seeing his sudden approach and him with red watery eyes she could tell there was something wrong. Raghav threw the picture of Kalpana on the table and said, "I don't trust villagers and you are my last hope." She already understood what he wanted to know. "So you know Kalpana right." Anita said, "Yes you've heard right and Kalpana is the mother of Aarav.

Singhanhia Mansion

Raghav entered into the house and saw Kalpana. Seeing her he remembered what he heard from Anita and the villagers of how Kalpana suffered a lot. He then couldn't resist hugging her. After hugging her Kalpana was shocked. Then she said, "What happened Raghav ji? Is everything alright." Without answering her question he left.

Kalpana was waiting outside of his room as he was locked inside for a long time. He then came out of the room and said, "Kalpana come inside I need to talk to you." "You know Kalpana where I went?" "Okay I'll tell you. I went to meet Aarav's real mother." "Aarav's real mother? How come?" Kalpana said astonished. "Seems like you are so sure that I haven't met her." Raghav said. "Why not? You know his mother really well as well as Aarav." "How he was born, what type of sickness he faced when he was very little." Raghav continued, "Only a real mother knows about her child the most." "You know Aarav very well because you are the mother of Aarav..." (To Be Continued...)
