Chapter 2

Tasting Own Medicine.

Raghav reached Gokuldham society, only to be stopped by Kalpana, who staring at Raghav, kind of angrily, Raghav rolled his eyes, as he continued towards his small "Cabin" right near entrance gate of the society, next to Abdul's shop. "Wow Singhaniya!!! People in life progress, from non-AC small cabin to bigger ones in huge offices, and look at you... Graduation earned you "Part-Time My Life My Way cabin in big company and here, You are now... "Promoted, to this super luxurious cabin of Watchman right outside Gokuldham."

As soon as he kept his bag aside, which he carried consisted of some files and stationary, for working during the night, while doing his "Chowkidaari" (Watchmanship) as he was sure... such places might now even in eye of any sensible thief. All the while he was mentally making his plans for the evening, he heard knock on the door, which marked entry of Kalpana with some papers, "Sign these and also submit copy of your ID proof!" Kalpana said handing over some paper. Raghav was shocked to know about certain procedures like these, and that too ID proofs?? "Whaat seriously??? For this stupid work, you want me to give you ID proofs??" Kalpana was shocked hearing these things from him, "Of course we do!!! This is question of our security!!! Of course You have to sign these things and provide us with your rationing card, or electricity bill, which will have your or your father's name on it and most important of all ADRESS PROOF!! So incase if you..." she was cut by words of Raghav, "What??? You think I am some criminal or thief..???" he asked throwing angry daggers at Kalpana, who looked at him, "No, I feel you are some underworld don, who is involved in smuggling and has previous records of terrorist activities," she said sarcastically, "Anything else you want me to tell you, what I think about you??" asked Kalpana, Raghav was now super angry, "What the heck do you think about yourself Ms. Kalpan..."... again a cut, "MADAM!!!" Kalpana gave back snapping finger at him, "You are suppose to call me madam!!! You don't own this place alright... You are just a watchman... and WE ARE paying you, you aren't doing any big favour on us... to talk to me... or say any of the member in disrespectful way... You are just a watchman, who isn't even worth a penny for now..!!! You better learn to control your tongue, Mr Raghav... Raghav... Whatever, is your surname," she completed bringing Raghav to utter realization as he calmed down and closed his eyes, before continuing... Opening it, he begun, "Look, I do not have any proofs for now, I can provide you with details, within next two days?" he requested... Kalpana looked at him in surprise, "Two days?? Two days for what...?? You better get it tomorrow, or I will get you fired by speaking to Mr. Singhaniya... got it??" she asked... "Ok, Cool ... Can I sort it out with Harish sir, if you do not mind?" Kalpana denied, considering, she was the only one responsible for collecting all the proofs of address and ID from all community helpers associated with society. After completing her quota of arguing with Raghav she headed outside to her home, leaving Raghav in his own thinking mode as he recollects,..

Flashback:

"What is this??? is this the way to make tea..." Raghav shouted, while throwing the cup down, it was their new servant on the very next day of his appointment, Kannu was looking down in embarrassment as he spoke, "Sorry sir, I didn't know you didn't prefer so much of sugar, I thought..." "You need not think anything... Just cuz, my dad likes extra sugary sweet tea, do not mean you have to make assumptions about all..." Harish who witnessed the scene as he came running hearing loud sound and breaking of cup, "Raghav!! This is not the way to talk to anyone, he is just new, yet he thought of making tea for you, before you leave, he didn't even know you would have tea ... You should appreciate his work and efforts..." Raghav totally pissed off at this, "So what??? Gosh... We are paying him, so stop sympathising them ... They aren't doing any favour on us..." he shouted as he stomped off from the room.

Flashback Ends...

Raghav thought about this event, as he sat and compared his condition of being new watchman to Kannu, who ... He stopped thinking and opened his file,...

"Raghav..." Came female voice from outside, he ran to see, it was Mr. and Mrs. Roshan's flat, "Yes, Mrs. Ros... I mean Ma'am?" Roshan smiled, "Please get some neem leaves from there!!!" Raghav looked at her, he wanted to shout at her, "I am not your servant!!! I am here just for keeping your stupid place safe..." But he controlled and smiled as she got the work done. And rested back on seat, "Watchman...!!!!" came shout once again, it was of Neetu, "Please tell, abdul to deliver some masala please." Raghav irritated, ignoring it he did the task. Again he settled down, and some or the other work, made him exhausted...!!! He was really angry, smallest work, like informing vendor to deliver food, and keeping note of every visitor going in and out of society and also get scolded on "wrong product" "I had asked for buffalo milk and not goat milk... Go change it... Can't you understand difference," etc... etc... etc... These work were becoming tedious and highly "not his type" of work, but he had too... All these were indeed include in his "Job Profile" LOL... He had actually seen Viraj doing same, collecting files and delivering in house; buying some things; informing vendors, etcc...!!! And it was all being done with patience ... Soon it was time when all men came for having soda and ladies joined their own circlet for gossips about random things... Kalpana was on other side reading book, and handling files while kids played around...

Soon everyone left and it was time for Raghav to actually get back on work, his work of files and next morning project. However, area was dark, only dim yellow light shown in the room and outside was lit with street lights, which was surely better than room's light, he saw Viraj sleeping or say, trying to sleep on hard cot outside. He has been soo used being on duty, that now sleeping when on duty is difficult, even if he isn't having much of the work.

Time of about 2 hours flies by, while Raghav is busy in his work... and as last light of society goes off... Raghav was every now and then, slapping himself, or trying swoosh of mosquitoes which were huge distraction for now, it is warm even when cool winds are blowing, but these winds are not like bedroom with AC. Things were really getting difficult for him, however he decided to continue with whatever circumstances has offered him, as he has "No Option" left for now, he continues his work through struggle. It was after few more hours, the place got spooky and he hears the sounds of rustles from trees around. He avoids it all, until he feels horrible about it, and senses something unusual or someone behind the tree... "Chor Chor... Chorr!!!" (Chor- Thief) he gets up shouting and running around, waking up Viraj and somewhere distracting whole society with his scream, he goes in the direction from where the noise came, while other people to came out now to see... some in their balcony while some on ground floor reached Raghav, including Kalpana came down, while Vitthal remained in balcony.

"Listen, I feel there is someone behind that tree...!!!" warns Raghav pointing at tree right across near Abdul's store... Vitthal sees this, "So??? Go and handle him,!!!" his words shocked Raghav, "Was he suppose to do this all alone?? Would no one come to help him?" Raghav felt someone's hand on his shoulder he turns around to find it's Viraj. Raghav smiled looking at him and assured, they slowly headed towards the tree, ... All were nervous... Tree was approaching, hearts were beating faster, Viraj had kept the stick ready. It came nearer, and just couple of inches before turning, there came our Abdul from behind tree, half sleepy and lousily, rubbing his eyes, yet walking... and was shocked to see Raghav and Viraj with sticks, which shakes him up from sleep. "Don't Hit Me!!" He shouts closing his eyes, and again starts running, "Humare naye watchman chor hai... chor hai... Woh mujhe maar daalenge" (Our new watchmans are thief, they will kill me...) and goes and hides behind Bhide, only to realize whole society was up...!!! Raghav rolls his eyes, Abdul comes out from behind Bhide, "Chal kya raha hai?" (What's going on?) he asked confused? Everyone is now looking at Raghav quiet angrily, and Raghav questions Abdul, "What were you doing there at 3.00 am in night??" he asked... Abdul told him how he got call from trader, and that truck of raw arms are there, he had to leave and get them for Madhvi required for making pickles. Hence he was out there, for less than 10 minutes, but what has this been made into...

Raghav apologized and Kalpana felt like strangling him, "Do You realize, the time, even if you come across the thief, you aren't suppose to even scream like that... You just have to handle him, you fool!!!" she blasted at him furiously, while rest of them tried to calm her down. "What calm down??" she shouted at them, "This guy will go and sleep tomorrow, and what about me, I have work, what about you... Even you have to work... I have important work tomorrow as budget plans needs to be discussed for Jr. Singhaniya's new big project and this guy..." she said looking at Raghav... It was now Raghav's turn to feel super angry at her, for he is sure to not get sleep next day, he has to "Work, as well," and difference is, he will be going late..!!!" He gritted his teeth, as duo stood showing their angry faces to each other, "Keep your eyes down, Mr. Raghav... You Useless Watchman... Just don't know anything..." Kalpana said as she kept on cursing him angrily... while rest of people pushed her to wing, as she kept shouting at Raghav, who just stood there seeing her go... or pushed away while being tried to calm down. Viraj told to control himself... and sleep or say do "chaukidaari" (keep watch).

Raghav rested on the chair, "What is her problem? I mean she is normal, and her behaviour too is normal... But, Is this the way to talk to anyone? She is calm and sweet when talking to Viraj and also other people who maybe around...!! But she has some super big problem with me, because I am sharing the time of this post with her best friend, and she just revenging..."
"No," came the voice from his left, as he saw Viraj holding tea, "My wife had made it and put it in thermal, but it will have sugar, so ... "I do not want it anyways, please keep it to yourself. I prefer my own type of tea or coffee... or any beverages." Viraj took only sip from his tea, "Her problem is not that you are sharing time or you almost replaced her friend, but just the way you talk to people. Imagine Sahab, I or any of the worker in house talking to you or behaving like this at 3.00 am, almost waking up people in house for petty reason, which was not even the real one, or if they be demanding, you may just fire them... or just shut them up..., Sahab, you need to go to this understanding, they are not even aware you are Harish Sahab's son, for them you are just their watchman, like I have been for your mansion, or Arun for your office, or whatever..." he completed giving Raghav some time to sink in information. "Give her some time, talk to her nicely, Kalpana is very nice girl, she works with Singhaniya organization only, and very sweet person, as to she always used to ask me about my health, and my family whenever she had time to ... and she came to drop in some files... And if as a stranger she treated me with respect, than she would to you as well, but you as well need to avoid using bitter language..." he explained. Raghav couldn't get it, her words and actions, somewhere made him recollect some of his own rude behaviours towards his employees but no one till date had ever given him such treatment, and not just her quiet many people today spoke to him, like he would have never allowed them😡😡😡, But yes, he will not deny, he too has been same way when it came to his own ways... "Maybe, uncle is right, I need to learn ways to improve on my part of speaking and doing my own work!" He had never even dared to go and drop the tea cup from his room to kitchen or picked up his own bag from car after reaching office, but now he had to help society member pick up bags, do their work and so much... His dad had trapped him, but... he had to prove him, granddad did no great work, or did he?? I could see things won't be easy, but I will have to do it, and this time be serious on it!! He decided...

I know this might be some boring chapter...!!! but it was important... cuz... yes,... It will be moving fast... and soon I will update again with same pre-cap as previous one, which I did plan to write in this one, but couldn't..!! Sorry...

As I said, this will be light hearted, romantic and focusing on other aspects of community helpers...

Hmm, nice update. But for me Kalpana too needs some lessons; if a person is good he is good with everyone. Being angry at someone's tone or way of talking because he is an employee is different from sounding offensive. Scolding someone is different and using words like fool, useless, etc is different. Her reason of being angry was right, but just like Raghav's way of showing his displeasure at a work done wrongly, or when disturbed wrongly; in the same way Kalpana's way of showing her displeasure was also wrong. In this one, somehow I didn't feel Raghav was wrong but yes good training for him. Maybe I am wrong in my interpretation. But loved the way you are showing Raghav's transformation and lessons. This part was important for his change, and showing him the mirror.
