Chapter 4

Once the interview finishes on television set. Mayank switches off tv, to discuss about presentation and things to be covered in it. Kalpi is now equally excited and confident about upcoming meet thanks to interview by Raghav. Mayank is happy seeing this.

Bell rings.

Gunjan comes from kitchen to open the door, giving pissed off look at Mayank and Kalpi who happily swaying away and she is the one who has to come all the way to open the door.

It is Neetu on the door, she comes in. "Where is my baby?" She shouts, and is relieved seeing Kalpi. Kalpi smiles seeing her.. and Neetu comes and hugs her. "I was soo worried for you, why was your number switched off?" "Can't you call me once?", "Why did you not come home after meeting Prem?", ... Kalpi started feeling all odds which were taken away few minutes back. Gunjan signalled her to not say anything right now. Kalpi just apologized and decided to just forget one unknown night till meet next week. That would require her more attention and hard work.

Raghav comes out from interview hall greeting everyone and speaking politely to all, as he recollects his own words in room for helping senior citizens. "No, I will not ..!!" "How can I let her words affect me so much?", "I lost my parents because of my grandma, and I said, I will help such people who just rules and makes lives of other people around like he** (cannot use word which is opposite of heaven please fill that word there.). No ways... and No ways.." thought Raghav. "But that's called generation gap, which occurs everywhere and throughout generations," came the reply from smiling female face across. Raghav smiled seeing Kalpana, "Raghav, how many times should I tell you about this? It's not same everywhere, every human being needs love to grow up and those who give love do grow old, have their own sets of expectation, and different perspective. While we do fight among our friends, who are of same age, if perspectives differ at same age, then there we are talking about generations. Some differences would be there between your parents and grandmother, but you cannot blame everyone for it. It is us now who have to change and at least bring," said Kalpi. Raghav was just stuck. Before he can put his words to her, she was gone. He looked around to see if she was around. "Where are you Kalpana? Why did you leave? How can you do this to me?" He turns and sees, one old man sitting on the bench in park having "Paan" and spits on the road. We next see, small boy coming and telling old man, "Oyee Uncle, here we are trying to keep our country clean, and what are you doing?" This angers old man as he says, " Go away little boy, are you going to now tell me how am I suppose to live? I have seen more years then you.. Don't you give me your knowledge." I will muttered little boy as he went to paan wala and asked for bottle of water, and taking leaf from side cleaned the road. Other people around were amazed seeing this little boy's simple gesture. Some also felt ashamed. Boy looked at Paan seller and told him, you need to add some special sink around for those who have your paan and can spit. Raghav was highly impressed and so were other people. "See this is what your older generation people do... and look at that little boy, he has more sense though less experience." Thought Raghav. "Education has helped him learn" came voice of Kalpi again, who then disappred. "Raghav" came voice from behind. It was Sammy, "You didn't tell me, you wanted to help senior citizen, let's discuss their .." He was but in mid way, "Let's go, it was just formal way of saying, I am not biased towards helping only children," said Raghav looking at the boy. Car arrives. Raghav goes to the boy and smiles at him.

Raghav: "What is your name?"

Boy: "Ranveer" (Imagine Bhavesh Balchandani here)

Raghav: "You are doing great job. Continue."

Ranveer: "Thank You."

Saying this he leaves.

Raghav sits in car and leaves, wondering, where would she be?

Prem has come to meet Kalpi. He hugs her showing worry. Kalpi is still guilty, she shrugs him slightly, saying she isn't well, and wants to freshen up as she just came from Di's house and she heads to bedroom. "Are you upset with me about last night?" asked Prem. "No" said Kalpi facing door of her bedroom, with tears of guilt forming in her eyes. "Prem I will meet you tomorrow, please."

Prem: "But Kalpi I am going to Pune tomorrow. Did you forget that?"

Kalpi was partly relived. "Ok, then I will meet you next week. I just want some time please."

Prem was confused while Kalpi was just little happy to get this burden off so she can focus on her presentation and work. She wanted some time to delete previous night, that unknown stranger from her system and get over it all. Forget the already forgotten past, which still haunted.

"I can never forget beautiful night yesterday night," thought Raghav as his car passes river side coffee shop. He started at the place and went in flashback mode of previous night.

Chapter 5

[This part will be Start of Partial Flashback.

Flashback I have planned in two parts, one where both has just met and are just being introduced... Second would be emotional one, where both get connected emotionally]

Flashback:

"I do not want any excuses, tomorrow morning we are meeting, and I want to see final data. If you do not come prepared, you will be fired," barked Raghav on phone, "I will be coming up with full financial investment tomorrow morning, and if I do not get your part then you do not deserve to work with Singhaniyas." Employer begged Raghav for some time, "Sir, please my wife isn't well, she needs to be taken to doctor," "So take her, and do your work as well, you think we are fools to work day in day out for bringing this company where it is. Just remember, if you aren't prepared, don't even come to office tomorrow." Saying so he had cut the call. Car suddenly jerked halt. "Sorry Sir, we will take some different route." Looking at goons ahead. Raghav saw "her" being teased. He told driver to stop the car. He got down and walked towards kalpana and goons. As one of them tried to come closer to her and was stopped by Raghav whose hands reached his neck before his face reaches Kalpana. He pushed Kalpana aside, as she fell on the bench, yet not realizing what's going on around. She was dizzy he could figure out. But before helping her out, he had to place these people on one side. He fought them all like one many army. [Imagine a fight of Raghav with ema goons who kidnapped "Tai" and Kamla. After holi episode sometime]. After them running away, he headed to unconscious Kalpana, he patted her cheecks asking continuously, "Are you alright? Hello... Hello...??" She opened her eyes, and began to laugh, leaving Raghav confused..

Please imagine Kalpi in similar state as Ayesha Takia was in movie missing Sunday.

She got up and started walk (like drunk). Raghav stopped her from going... "Hello, who are you and where are you going?" Kalpi stopped stared at him, in her same drunk tone, "May I ask you the same? Why are you following me?" she said as she was about to fall.. but Raghav reached her on time to save her from falling. "I am not following you, and had I not been here do you realize the trouble you were in.." ... asked Raghav staring at her.. She was looking as if she was about to sleep any moment. "That I already am... By being engaged to that.. Prem ... Aaa... Mausi.. didn't you find any sensible man for me." Raghav was confused.. and irritated. .. "Look, I do not have time to hear all your complains... and cribbing, tell me where should I drop you, and come along.." said Raghav as he held her hand and dragged her. She pulled it away.. "I do not talk to strangers, go.. I am fine.." saying so she looked away. "Ok, Fine, anyways you do not seem to have courtesy to even say Thank You', I do not have any eagerness to waste my time here." Saying so he headed towards his car. "You are so inhuman.." shouted Kalpi, stopping Raghav in his tracks. "Were you trying to help me to hear Thank You' From me?"... Raghav turned back staring at her, who was now angrily pouting making her eyes smaller, "Ok tell me more.." asked Raghav.

Kalpi: "What do I tell you?" turning back. "I am really hungry."

Raghav rolled his eyes.. "So? What do I do? Do you want to eat me?"

Kalpi: "Sorry, I do not eat animals, I respect them."

Raghav's frustration knew no bound. "Do whatever you want to.. I do not care.. I am leaving." He said turning back and walking towards his car. Kalpi watched him leave.. "You are so inhuman," she shouted. Raghav turned back while still walking .. (Taking backward steps.) "Thanks.. You already kinnda said that anyways.. by saying I am animal."

Kalpi: "So am I... Human being is animal... Social Animal.. Gosh you have such a low GK. Raghav had reached his car, and settled in it. He was still in thinking mode. "Why do I care?" he thought looking at Kalpi, who was just staring at him. "What's wrong with me, why his her face pleading me to take her along and help her out? Why do I even want to help her? No I cannot leave her alone like that," thought Raghav and instructed driver to drive till where Kalpi was. (Guys just remember, Kalpana is still like in a drunken state, and behaving bit kiddishly)

Kalpi was still standing there looking at the sky. Raghav called her inside the car, opening door for her. "Come on in!" Kalpana looked at him, and nodded in negative. Raghav looked at her in disbelief. He got down from car. "What's your problem?" Kalpi looked at him, "I am hungry." She said. Raghav looked through her, while she avoided looking at him and looked like little kid. "Fine," said Raghav, "We will go to some restaurant. Come" he said as he pulled Kalpana by her hand, while she remained rooted. He looked at her. "There is riverside walk way there." She said pointing towards building, and showed Raghav narrow lane. "I know that there is river side there" came and reply from Raghav, "but what about it?"

"Let's walk", said Kalpi. Raghav's eyes popped out. "Weren't you hungry?" asked Raghav confused...

Kalpi: "I WAS not... I am hungry, talk in present tense stranger."

She added, "Well at the end of river side, there is a caf, where we can get sandwiches, cakes, muffins, juice... she kept listing excitedly and looked at Raghav who was now just staring at her with, "What the heck!" look on his face.. She just ended the list with "and a lot more to each and drink.

Raghav: "At 11.00 Pm? You wanna walk..."

... Kalpi looked at him with question mark on her face?

Kalpi: So?

Raghav: Look whoever you are, you may not have some work in life, but I do.

Kalpi: Ok, go and do your work, I will be fine.

Raghav: Fine. As he started walking back to his car. Kalpana watched on and looked around.

Kalpi: But I will love it, if you join me for a walk.

Raghav smiled, before turning back to Kalpana.

Raghav: "Only if you tell me your name."

Kalpana: (Bringing big big big smile on her face): "I am Kalpana. Come... Let's go on for a walk." As she turned around to cross the road and crossed it half way, followed by Raghav. As she was about to cross other half way, she ignored speeding care while going ahead, but was stopped and pulled back slightly by Raghav, who held her upper hand.

Raghav: "Are you Blind?"

Kalpana: "No, I am just drunk."

Raghav and Kalpana crossed the round and passing through narrow lane between building and small garden reached river side's one end, and started walking along the walkway of the river. Kalpana looked at Moon on top which was shining, it was crescent in shape, and looked into river. Raghav came and stood beside her. "What are you looking for?" Kalpana looked at Raghav, "Reflection of Moon. I have been here soo many times, but never during the night, and look when I am here at such a beautiful time of the day, Moon is such that, it's reflection cannot be seen clearly, due to its size." Raghav looks at the hazy reflection of Moon in water, and tells her, that maybe she should come here when water isn't still and not so shaky, though it will never be clear, but experience of seeing it will be much better. We cannot always blame Moon for not being clear..." Kalpana looked at Raghav, "Why is everything or anything to be blamed? I am not even blaming Moon, afterall Moon is always the complete one, but it's Earth and Sun who decides how much of it needs to be presented; How much do people on Earth deserve to see you can say... Have you imagined if Moon would have always appeared as whole? It would be soo boring, Full Moon would somewhere lose its beauty, of coming every 30 days. I am just looking at my luck; I always wanted to come out like this and enjoy the time, but mostly, it is considered too late by my family, or that Prem never had time to bring me out... Today when he finally did... I am lost here... But I am happy, this place is better than Pub... Not sure if he would have accompanied me here." But Hey... Thanks for coming around for a walk...Saying so Kalpana started running off, while Raghav had to catch up with her... She was yet again about to fall, and was again saved by Raghav, who held her by her shoulder. Both shared an eye lock. She started laughing, and then decided to remove her heel sandles, which was again suggested by Prem. Holding it in her hand she started running, laughing and turned around opening her hands, while Raghav just kept staring at her. "She looks so beautiful." Was the only thought he had in his mind. She kept swirling and slowly closed her eyes to feel the cool wind blowing over her face. Raghav came closer to her. Kalpana realized this, and felt bit out of place, as she recollected words of Prem, "You cannot seduce and challenge." Kalpi smiled and thought to give it a try... at this moment.

"You know stranger, you should do it too," said Kalpi looking at him. "Though you didn't bother to ask me, but I do have a name, I am Raghav ..."

Before he can say his name completely, "Wow, that's a nice name... I have heard this name.. and it sounds familiar..." said Kalpi in thinking mode. Raghav didn't feel like adding his last name anymore... For the first time ever, was this a chance to not let there be any show off... "I am sure, it's a very common name, 1 in 100 has this name." Kalpana laughed at sarcasm. "No, I meant... Nothing..."

She lead Raghav to the bench on the side,... Made him sit while she tried sitting close to him as much as possible. Kalpana closed his eyes with her hand and brought her face close to his cheecks. "Just feel relaxed." She said in his ears. Slowly moving her hands from his eyes to across the face to shoulder, Raghav could feel her soft hands all over his face. While Raghav opened his eyes, and stared at Kalpana, as she sat extremely close him. Kalpana wrapped her arms around Raghav; giving him tight hug. Raghav was just on cloud 9, as if this is something he had been waiting for. He hugged her back, caressing her back. He brought her lips near her ears and placed a kiss over neck. Kalpi smiled and started laughing. "That id**t, tells me I cannot Seduce... He is soo wrong. I can and I am just perfect as I am ... I won't change myself for anyone..." She said as she pulled herself away from Raghav and continued laughing. Raghav stared at her intently, trying to understand her and her actions... She stopped laughing seeing him staring at her. "I... I am sorry..." Kalpi said, realizing huge blunder she has created. "You are beautiful, really beautiful, and you are really need not change for anyone... You have to get what you want... and not change yourself to make other person want you." Raghav said... She got up from the bench and distanced herself from Raghav.

They walked silently ahead listening to waves from river.

A man came holding a dog by his belt. Dog yet came as much as its capacity towards Raghav and Kalpana barking, scaring Kalpana that she turned around and held Raghav's suit hiding her face. Raghav involuntary wrapped his arms around her shoulder like protecting her and feeling her. He felt good to have her in his arms this way. It wasn't till few more seconds, that man pulled his dog away calming it and taking it away. Raghav just said it's gone and Kalpi pulled herself away from Raghav looking up at him, feeling bit out of place. Raghav smiled, "Are you ok?" She smiled; however dizziness took over her. She held onto his suit while Raghav understood her state. Holding her gently by her shoulder, he made her sit near the bench. He took out his cell to call up his driver to come near the place they were. "Ra...Raghav, please ask him to come near caf, I can manage; if you are ready to help." Raghav smiled at her. He did the same, and with his help, both entered the caf.

Seeing the food around in this caf, Kalpi grinned like a kid. "I wanna have cold xyz coffee, along with vegetable sandwich, with breadstick, and ..."She looked at Raghav... "umm... A lot more" is all she could mummer. Raghav who was just enjoyed this whole walk thing, was again at irritated mode, as he looked at people staring at Kalpana for her actions.

"Kalpana", Called Raghav, "Relax, and sit here quietly." He said making her seated. "I will get you everything." As Raghav stood in que for ordering, and collected coffee, Kalpana realized, he hasn't taken the small muffins placed in glass tray... "Raghav, those muffins as well please..." shouted Kalpana, making every other person stare at her. Person at counter smiled looked at Raghav, who just nodded and placed muffins in the tray... "Also the chocolate sause." Shouted Kalpana.

Raghav walked up with tray to Kalpana, "This is enough Kalpana, you could have waited for me to come here." Kalpana looked at him, "But I am really hungry, and you ... You made walk the whole river side, inspite of knowing I am hungry... How could you?" shouted Kalpana. "I made you walk? Seriously?" Raghav told off while gritting his teeth. "No...No... You mean to say, I told we should walk?" Kalpana pounced back. Man sitting on next table, entertained by whole scene just interrupted, "No man is ever that lucky to have a girlfriend who would prefer to walk. And you made her walk soo much, dude, I need some tips." His girlfriend, "Oh yes, as if you guys are just as innocent ones in the world. You really need to be begged if we want something for you." Man and his girlfriend started arguing soon whole caf joined in... While Raghav and caf staff looked around. Kalpana started enjoying the scene and laughing and smiling looking at Raghav with, "Look what have you done" looks.

Staff came in interrupting, and asked everyone to calm down, and requested Raghav and Kalpana to settle down and please stay calm. Keep personal differences to themselves. Raghav sat across Kalpi, who was smiling looking down and curving her lips inside and giving small glances at Raghav while enjoying the meal. Raghav asked her, "Where do you stay." "In home," came prompt reply. Raghav glared at her, staring at her purse. Kalpana realized it, hence before he could snatch it away, she held it tight. "Mausi Maa will scold me for going home in this state."

Raghav managed to snatch away the purse and tried finding something with her address. Ended up with her mobile, Kalpi, tried taking it away, leave it... The first name in call log appeared was named "Mayank Jiju", Raghav said aloud. "So am calling him." ... "No ways, please..." She said taking her phone away, "Look, it is my newphew's birthday, and finally he is getting his time of the day with family. Please do not disturb the family." Raghav looked down, while Kalpi kept on speaking, "Anyways, di and jiju are always busy managing needs of old age home, and thankfully my Ranvi is mature enough to understand his responsibility and his parent's responsibility." ... Raghav just looked on, "So you mean to say your sister and your brother in law are ignoring their child cuz of some old age home and oldies around?" asked Raghav in shock. Kalpana looked at him is surprise, "So? Well we all have something to achieve in life, Di and Jiju takes care of NGO and I too work there as an employee, what's the big deal?" ... Raghav looks at Kalpana in surprise, "Wow, and may I know your income?" Kalpana looks at Raghav, "That's not important. But at least I know, I can afford my own food." Kalpana said, snatching back her purse and removing wallet in anger, which Raghav made her close by her hand before she takes out. "No, I do believe in providing charity specially to people who work in such dramatic places like old age homes." Kalpana looks at him confused, "What's your problem exactly?"

Raghav: "You!! The woman who has completely lost it, and is sitting here and enjoying her sandwich is the biggest problem."

Kalpana: "Why are you saying this out of the blue. I am still hungry." Said Kalpana taking bite of Sandwich.

Raghav just kept looking at her irritated. "So what's the point and pleasure behind taking care of old people?"

Kalpana smiles, "Just the same you get when you keep earning earning and earning, but do not have anyone or anywhere to spend, while we keep collecting collecting and collecting to give away to people who really deserve."

Raghav: laughed sarcastically, "Deserve? What do they deserve? Rather why do you feel so?"

Kalpana still calm as moon, "Cuz, all their lives they have given given and given... ultimately to be ignored and kicked out by those to whom they have given almost everything. They might have waited all their lives to get atleast some place in their own houses and hearts of their children. Life is definitely not easy for them at such age."

Raghav: C'mon, all life they work, they earn so that they can live comfortable lives, they give birth to children, choice is own, to have their own family, yet at the end, you are saying they do not get anything. If they want to complain at every stage of their old age, why even bother giving birth to children and bring them up just to flaunt and tell they have done this and that for kids but they all left them alone and go. They never realize their own follies in making children move away from themselves. Life is hence never easy for anyone, we have to GET what we want... and not wait for right moment and crap.. (laughing)... specially old age. They have been enjoying too.

Kalpana was still calm and cool at the end of hearing . She might have figured out his ranting. But her calmness and no reactions to his words irritated him further more.

Raghav: "And what do you get from them in return? Complains, arrogance and bashing."

Kalpi: "Love, Care and Respect, and in addition, Smile on their face."

Raghav: "What would you do with that, they are almost at the end of their lives, and would just lose and pass away anytime, why waste your hard work and energy on them, for those people, ..."

Kalpi: "Enough" she said as tears had almost formed in eyes. She held her head knowing that she wasn't in her state. "Can you please cut this ranting out," she said angrily, unable to take more. "If you had some bad experiences doesn't mean you have to force your opinion on others or even attempt to get it changed for those people who truly care for them." She added with tear and anger in her eyes, which in turn lead to equal anger reaction.

Raghav: "Why tell me what was exactly wrong in it? They haven't done any great thing for us... Yet they crave for attention ... and also are always complaining about everyone who does attend them and tries to be good to them."

Kalpana: had tears in her eyes as she continued, "Those people who brought us in the world, because of whom we might be here, across the generations, are right now victims.. As if they are now suffering for something which they might think of as mistake of their lives, to bring us up, to provide is with our needs and at the end to be ignored, or thought of as burden, who do not require attention, because they might just be guest here for few just short time, and it's ok if they aren't happy and sound." ... She let her tears flow... "That's exactly how people like you think and most of the world think. If you go ahead and see the amount budget and finance provided for old age services are much lower than what is being spent by government on children and their education... which is as well impor..." Raghav cuts her down, "Yes, so ?? As per you only you are the only one correct. Whole other world is wrong. Am I correct?"

Kalpi too stood up, "That's not what I am saying... Education is basic human need, which helps in to develop conscience, and make proper decision, and children are indeed future of nation. You are here cuz, your parents your family has educated you, who were in turn educated by your grandparents, depending on generation and time of their..." Before she could complete her sentence Raghav, just added, "I am here because of what I have done for myself, and no one else is responsible for it..." Kalpi was about to say something, Raghav pointed his fingers to Kalpi who was just not herself anymore and really dizzy, " Now you want me to drop you home, or you plan to just have food here?" Kalpi looked down and before she can say anything, "FINE Stay here... And enjoy your time... Why don't you have more sandwiches..?" While everyone else were just staring at them... Raghav called out to waiter, removed some cash from his wallet, and told him to bring Kalpana some more food and kept the cash on table and left, while Kalpana kept staring at his retreating form with tears in her eyes. Kalpana looked at waiter and refused for any more food, she took the cash, and gave it to the waiter, you can keep this..." and followed Raghav outside trying to talk to him.

But before she could reach him, she saw him getting into his car and driving off, while she just kept on staring around. Sleepy yet shocked and confused. She looked around if anyone can help her. It was sure she isn't going home as she cannot face Mausi maa in this state, and she wasn't to disturb Raveer's bday time with family. She randomly started walking around ..."

Flashback Ends ... (Part 1)

Car halted near the mansion, as Raghav came out of his trance which was occupied with the events of last night. It was almost 12.30 when he had left her all alone outside caf. Raghav heads towards his bedroom, which is now nothing more than a memory store for him, where he woke up this morning with Kalpi having his hands wrapped around his chest. Him kissing her forehead before getting up at 5 in morning and working on presentation which had to be shown to employees that morning. He had indeed been late for working on it, but could work and complete it on time, however biggest thing he had done is forgive the employee this morning whom he had been angry on and allow his delay. But he had no regrets. As long as he had her by his side.

But she too has left him for now, and He headed towards bed, with determination to have her back in his life as soon as possible.

How will Raghav react on meeting Kalpana? What is the gap between him leaving her in cafe and having her by him? Would he realize Kalpana remembers nothing about that night? Will Kalpana ever remember her missing moments about their first meet?

Omg 😲 I somehow missed this one . I read all 3 chappyys in one go. Why did rags want to keep her? Prem I'd such a jerk. Kalpi should dump him. Will they rey at presentation. Could u please update.
