Fastening her pace Kalpana slided herself through the shutting doors of the elevator & Dhad !!
She felt herself crashing into something really very hard & mighty, way more mightier than what she was. And before she could regain her balance or even realize what had happened she was again pushed back . This time her back collided against the shut doors of the elevator as she raised her eyes to see who had done tht ungentlemanly act.
Thats when her calm & gracile oculars met a pair of intense jet-black eyes. She saw a big bad frown smeared on his entire face , somewhat reflecting the one she had on hers. The very next second, as if it were a reflex action Raghav exclaimed
''You spoilt my suit !"
Kalpana lowered her eyes a bit to look at the portion near his hands which were busy straightening his tie & collar. On looking carefully ,she noticed that there was not even a single crease on his suit for which she was being blamed. His next words agitated her to the fullest as she slightly raised her left brow
"Couldn't you see woman ? Is that the way people in Mumbai get into elevators ? Why on earth did I even come to this place ..."
This incident had led to Raghav's sudden outburst as he continued to blabber all those things which he couldn't say to his Mom while fixing his suit. He was just speaking & speaking & speaking ... Perhaps his bodyguards who stood behind were also dumbstruck. It was for the 1st time that their boss was speaking so much.
On the other hand Kalpana stood there silently, her hands fisted tightly as she was trying hard to control her anger. But situations were instead toughening for her. First, there stood a man who was continuously badmouthing her city & herself. Second , her stupid assistants who were busy elaborating things about some XYZ businessman on the other end of her Bluetooth & last ...
But b4 the last point struck her head Raghav's words had already managed to reach her ears "Bloody downmarket people ! Not even bothering to apologise."
And that was Kalpana's last as she roared "Enough ! " Raghav's bodyguards also got startled before getting onto their alert modes. A stunned Raghav who was fixing the so-called crimps on his suit looked back at her abruptly.That enough did manage to quiten both, Raghav & her assistant as she continued.
"Enough of ur ranting Mr. If u dislike Mumbai so much then why don't u just leave this place ? Has the government of Mumbai given you a special invitation to stay back here ?"
Then holding the bluetooth tighter with her fingers, slightly pressing it in her ear she yelled again "And as for you, not a single word more about that helicopter man. I care a damn wo kaise bhi aaye. Let that stupid man come by a submarine ...a unicorn...or a donkey. How on earth wud that make a difference to me. The only thing I care about is Prem & his event. Do u get that ? & I will not let it ruin ...hope I'm clear !"
The mention of the word 'Prem's event' reminded Kalpana about that Last Point she was thinkin about before. It was giving her extreme best for her friend's event come what may. That thought shunned her anger almost immediately as she took a deep breath in. Anger had always been a problem for Kalpana Vitthal Jadhav. She knew it as well ,but her self-dependence since childhood added to Rohish's entire responsibility on her shoulders was the major reason behind it.
Then speaking calmly again "I'll be there in minute. Tell Prem to not start the conference before I reach." Then looking at Raghav again... who was supposedly gaping at her with shock as this was the first time ever some1 had dared to speak about the 'Raghav Singhaniya' in this way.
Aiming one of her deadliest stares at him Kalpana spoke "I will not apologise come what may. I would have but you don't deserve it." Kalpana's fury filled eyes missed the momentary darkness that spread on Raghav's face.
'Ting' came the sound as the elevator doors behind Kalpana opened. Turning in one swift move she made her way out hastily. The dark expression on Raghav's face transformed into a sudden smirk ...a dangerous 1 as he muttered "Me ! A stupid man coming on a donkey ? & me not DESERVING a sorry ?? Woman, you will have to apologise for this & every single thing. You cannot insult Raghav Singhaniya and get away so easily...Never .. You will have to pay for it !!"
With the fierce smirk yet intact on his face he headed towards the conference hall. The moment he entered his eyes begun searching for someone. He was that someone who had introduced himself as 'Prem Kapoor' a few minutes back. Raghav finally managed to spot him in one corner of the room chatting with Sammy.
'The only thing I care about is Prem and his event !' were the only words that were ringing in Raghav's ears as he marched towards the 2 .

"Hello Mr. Kapoor !" exclaimed raghav once he was standing in front of Prem. That hello was loud enough to grab every single person's attention present in the room. That act of Raghav's put Sammy on high alert as Raghav's loud only & only when he has something cooking up in his head. Raghav's next gesture proved his doubt to be correct as Sammy saw him stuff his hands in his pockets...a habit which had sustained since his childhood. Wondering what was he upto Sammy looked at Prem's gleeful face as he sighed. Prem was totally oblivious to the tamasha which was gonna happen next.
The poor guy was more than happy to see Raghav forward his hand...that cud be beneficial for his alliance with Singhaniyas. Getting the best of his warmly official tones he replied "Oo hello Mr Singhaniya. The conference is soon gonna start. By then you can enjoy the appetizers. Hope u like the arrangements !"
"Appetizers ? Arrangements ? Like them ?? Are u kidding me Mr Kapoor ?" said Raghav in a rude tone, this time his voice being louder than before. Prem, who expected a postive response was shocked to hear that as he glanced around. The other delegates who were seemingly having a gala time b4, now started lowering their respective appetizers & begun whispering somethin amongst themselves. It was no rocket science to understand that they were badmouthing Kalpana's absolute flawless event.
Raghav smirked once again on seeing the effect he had on the crowd, as also he enjoyed watching Prem's bewildered face. "This is gonna be easier than what I thought ! Woman ...this loser being ur weakness is gonna be my all-time strength. Just wait & watch."
Then announcing "I am calling this deal off !! Singhaniya group of Companies will not be involved in any deals with the Kapoors or any other company in India." Those words of Raghav's transformed the conference hall ,which was supposedly full of high class people into a fish market within no time. Taking further advantage of the buzz & make Prem more helpless Raghav again stated
"& the reason for me cancelling the deal is none other than the Kapoors & the insulting behavior of one of his workers a few moments back. Come Sammy lets leave !" Then turning to leave he started walking towards the exit with a confused Sammy following him. No sooner had he taken 3 to 4 steps than he heard Prem's voice, as expected. A voice which was a bit cranky as Prem wasn't used to being into such situations. He was quite new in the field of business & this was his first encounter with such a great persona ...unluckily an angry & unhappy great persona.🤢🤢
His voice reflecting the plea in it Prem spoke " Mr. Singhaniya, please tell me what's the problem. I would solve it for sure. But please don't call the deal off."
Though Raghav wanted to stretch the drama a bit more, but he was more eager to see the attitude on Kalpana's face tattered to pieces.
"Ok ! I will not call the deal off...but only on one condition. The woman whom I met in the elevator should apologise to me here ,in front of everybody...its only & only then that I wud try giving a thought to change my decision"
& before raghav could say any more Prem had already ended up blurting "Done ! Name her Mr. Singhaniya & I promise she will apologise to u ...Just name her !"
By then Kalpana who was busy checking some other arrangements was literally dragged into the conference room by one of her assistants who seemed excited abt the drama happening in the room. On hearing the word drama Kalpana didn't resist as she was now worried about Prem's event. What if it has negative effects on Prem's career ? She now stood in the room behind the various rows of crowd listening to the latter end of the convo which she could catch between Prem & that unknown yet familiar voice.(the name her Mr. Singhaniya part)
Raghav's hand which was already in his pocket then withdrew a delicate tinkling bracelet with the words 'Kalpi' embossed on it. He had noticed it fallen on the ground after kalpi had left. Raising it more so as to allow Prem see it dangling in front of his eyes Raghav said" I want the owner of this bracelet to apologise to me. I don't know her name but ...
Raghav stopped speaking when he noticed a shocked Prem stare at the bracelet without blinking his eyes. He then heard him utter in a low tone "Kalpi ... Kalpana ? "
On hearing the mention of some bracelet & Prem's meek yet audible voice taking her name, Kalpana's hand instantly reached her wrist. Yep ...she understood that she was in a deep self created mess as the bracelet belonged to her & it was she who had her best friend's future in her hands.What should she do now ? Should she apologize ? No ...she won't apologize...how cud she keep her ethics aside ...no ...never ...but Prem ??????
On the other hand Prem very well knew that Kalpana wud never apologize w/o it being her mistake. & the fact that she hasn't apologized yet was evident enough to tell that Kalpana wasn't at fault. But then the question remains what should he be doing. He wanted the deal so bad but he didn't want to let Kalpana down by any means. Confusedly he continued gaping at the shining bracelet held in front of him.
"Quick Mr. Kapoor ..I don't have time. Fetch this woman immediately or consider the deal to be cancel..." & even before he could complete the word
"I am Sorry !" was the stern voice heard from the mass of people present as everyone turned to trace the source of it. Their search ended when they saw a meek girl walking towards Prem & Raghav as she again said "I-am-Sorry !" ,her voice sterner than ever. With eyes fixed upon Raghav's demonic smirky face she now stood right in front of him. Her eyes literally erupting firey hailstones she repeated "I am very very Sorry !"
Then turning left, her gaze softened on seeing Prem who was unnecessarily pulled into all of it by the stupid man standing in front of her. A heavy gulp slid down her throat as she saw Prem's head downcasted. She knew Prem as good as Rohish & hence was well aware that he might be feeling highly guilty. Today she had miserably failed her aai & the promise given to her.Kalpana instantly shut her eyes as she just couldn't see Prem's lowered head any longer.
"Did I get u right ? " & the moment those words hit her ears, Kalpana's eyes again flung open to look at Raghav with disgust who stood there.. in front of her shamelessly. If given a chance Kalpana wouldn't have hesitated to choke him to death ...but instead "I am extremely sorry" were the words she had to say.
Deciphering the increasing complexity & the confusion amongst the crowd Sammy finally decided to interrupt. "The decision of the Singhaniyas resuming their deal with one of the companies in india is final. I request Ull to please take ur seats. The conference shall begin in few minutes"Those words relieved the other delegates who had witnessed the entire tamaasha(drama) as they made way to their respective places.
The increased activity in the room had no effect on Prem , Raghav or Kalpana who stood there staring at each other. Each one of them having a distinct set of emotions churning within. If one was celebrating his victory, the other was in deep regret while the third was seething in immense anger.
Finally giving a brake to the silence sustaining amongst the 3 Raghav spoke "So I dont deserve an apology ...werent u d one who said that?? Then why did u say a sorry to me 3...um no ...4 times ?" raising his left eyebrow teasingly.
With the ever-increasing ferocity in her oculars ...won't be wrong to say , Kalpana almost growled " Those were just a set of words. & Words have absolutely no meaning unless they are said from the heart. & Mind u Mr...u can tear Kalpana Vitthal Jadhav part by part & yet not succeed to obtain such an apology !!"
Those were Kalpana's last words before she glanced at Prem & zoomed out of the room like a whirlwind ,leaving back a dumbstruck Raghav. His fury was then attempted to be diverted by Sammy as he insisted Raghav to start off with the conference. Though his physical body was with Sammy but every ounce of his mind was busy swearing "I am not gonna leave u woman !!"
Agar abhi Yeh haalat hai ...then imagine what might happen when they are under one roof !!😉😉
K ...I am extremely sorry for elaborating stuff so much . But its just that its almost months later that I'm writing jhagdas & I was thoroughly enjoying it !!😆😆
