I didn't say that the channel or PH got rid of her because of her color.

I didnt mean u said that..I was just surprised that this was really an issue with PH/Channel..I know pretty naive of me but I thought it wouldnt matter since the pair got popular

I am saying that skin color does matter in that, it is noticeable when there's a dark actress (or even actors) on television, film or media. Now you are taking a dark skinned actress and replacing her with a lighter skinned actress. If you want to say she's not light-skinned and is a bit dusky, that's fine. But she's not dark like Rachna either, or even close to dark like Rachna. Now I am not saying they deliberately said, she's dark, let's get rid of her and bring in a lighter actress. But such actions will always be noticed by people. Because the industry as a whole is not favorable to dark skin and more favorable to light skin. That's the standard of beauty. And you get rid of one of the noticeable dark skinned actresses only to bring in another light skinned actress.

The same way people raise voices or point to similar issues in Hollywood. But only thing is, within in India no one bothers to really make as big noise.
