Thanks for your 'sober' update. I feel as 'grim' as Kalpi , after reading. Poor Kalpi does she know , whether she is 'standing on her feet or her head' !!!!! Very interesting update ,makes one want to know more ! Thank you for continuing the updates

The preparations for Raghav and Kalpi's marriage was in full swing. Vitthal was getting better . Kamla and Pakya were busy with preparations for Kalpi's wedding. It was lot of work to do. Everyone was happy except for one. Kalpi.. She mostly stayed aloof in her room, only responding when spoken to. Rushi had tried to speak to her but she was turned away. The last few days were a blurr. Rushi had forced her way into Kalpi's room to shoo those nosy women who were gossiping about Raghav Singhania while applying mehendi on her hands out. As she was about to speak, Kalpi put up her hand to silence her.

Kalpi : No Rushi. I don't want to talk anything about it.

Rushi : But Prem..

Kalpi : He left !!! He left without telling me. I don't want to talk about him.

There was a knock on the door. Both looked towards the door. Rushi went to open it to find Kamla standing there with a smile on her face. She had few clothes in her hand. She handed the clothes to Rushi.

Kamla : Rushi. Here are Kalpi's clothes. Get her ready and call me. I need to fix the nath on her nose.

Rushi : Ok Aunty. I will get her ready.

Kamla left leaving the two alone. Rushi looked at her with a scrutinizing look. Kalpi looked at the clothes and then at Rushi and let out a sigh. She wanted to cry. Rushi held out an arm to her. Kalpi caught it and held it tightly to control her tears. After a few moments, she took the clothes out of Rushi's hands and went inside the washroom to change herself. After a few minutes, she came out. Rushi's mouth hung open. Kalpi was looking beautiful in her yellow - green naavra saari. She sat down and did Kalpi's hair into a bun and topped it with rolling flowers aaound the bun. Then she did her face with makeup to cover those tired and sad eyes. She managed to make her eyes brighten up with khol and eye-liner. A touch of lip-gloss and a bindi with a half-chandra and a dot. Kalpi was ready. She was looking like a Princess. But a sad Princess. Her smile was missing from her face. There was a knock on the door. Rushi opened it to see Kamla all ready rush in. She smiled as she looked at her daughter. She went to her daughter, took some khol from her eyes and kept it behind Kalpi's left ear.

Kamla : You look so beautiful dear. People are gonna stare at you a lot. Rushi, you have done a beautiful job.

Rushi : Thankyou Aunty.

Kamla : Ab chalo. Its getting late. People must be waiting.

Kamla and Rushi walked with Kalpi down to the mandap. Raghav was already there in the mandap, smiling and reciting all the mantras the priest was saying. Kalpi looked at Raghav. He was looking handsome in his golden sherwani and pagdi. Tears flooded her eyes as she felt a hand squeeze her. She found Rushi giving her a comforting smile. Kalpi forced back a smile and sat beside Raghav. The mantras began and the seven pheras were taken. The Singhanias were smiling with joy and so were The Jadhavs. Only Kalpi knew the inner turmoil she was going through. But then anything for her father. And what tested her constraint was when it was time for sindoor and mangalsutra. As Raghav put the mangalsutra around her neck, it tingled and sent shivers down her spine and entire body. His touch was hot and magical. She closed her eyes. As he filled her maang with sindoor, tears fell from her eyes as memories of Prem filled her mind. Memories of the days they spent together. Memories of that night filled her mind and she let a tear drop to her face. She heard the sound of claps around. It was over. She was now married. She was now Mrs. Kalpana Raghav Singhania. This was her destiny. Her Destiny To Doom. Or so she thought.

Surprise !! Double update 😛

It was over. She was now married. She was now Mrs. Kalpana Raghav Singhania. This was her destiny. Her Destiny To Doom. Or so she thought.

It was done. The marriage was done. She was now Kalpana Raghav Singhania.. Kalpi closed her eyes and wished that it was all a dream and that Prem was still there with her and they were still together. But reality altogether is a different realm because when she opened her eyes, she was sucked into the harsh reality that stood infront of her eyes. Smiling faces, she thought. Everyone was smiling at this holy reunion. Everyone except one.. That one was Kalpi herself. She was shaken out of her reality with Rushi's push.. Kalpi was glad that Rushi was there.. Right now, she was her only support to her lifeless living. Raghav's parents had come with bright faces.

Gauri : Atlast !! You are now our daughter Kalpi. Henceforth all this Aunty and Uncle should be left behind. From this moment, you will call us Mom and Dad.

Both Raghav and Kalpi bent down to get the blessings of Gauri and Shekhar. Both parents blessed them with abundant joy and happiness. Kalpi controlled herself not to cry out loud. But when it came to her parents, she couldn't control herself any longer. She threw her arms around her mother and started crying. Kamla could only pat her head in an attempt to control her own tears.

Kamla : Kalpi. Its ok. This happens to every woman. Every woman takes herself to another house and spreads her warmth and happiness.. Its ok Kalpi. And we will always be in touch over phone and video call.. And we are not far away. We are in the same city... Come on dear. Stop crying.

Kalpi pulled away reluctantly and tried to give a smile to her mother. She looked at her father who had his face turned away from her. She knew that he was fighting his own tears and unlike her mother, he could not mask them well. She went to her father and knelt down before him.

Vithal : Take care Kalpi.. And haan.. You can always come home.. This is your home too.. Ok ?

Kalpi : Papa ?? Won't you look at me ? Or since I am leaving, am I not your Princess anymore ?

That made Vitthal turn and he hugged his daughter and kissed her forehead.

Vithal : No matter what.. You will always be my Princess.. Do not ever think like that again.. You can always come here. Now, be good and I always love you.

Kalpi : I love you too, Papa.

While she searched for her brother, she found him talking to Raghav. Raghav !! Her husband !! Realization struck her as she realized that she was bound to Raghav for life and that they were a couple now. Slowly she walked towards the duo.

Pakhya : Take care of my sister. Else you will face my wrath.

Raghav : You know me since childhood. I will take care.

Pakhya : I don't care that you are my childhood friend. But she must be happy there. Else you are dead.

Kalpi stifled a laugh at this.. She always knew her brother to be protective but this was extreme. Considering that Raghav was well-buit and strong when compared to her brother. Pakhya noticed her smiling and pulled her to him. He hugged her sideways and said.

Pakhya : Don't you worry.. I will always come to you once a week to see you.. And I have warned your husband to treat you well else you will become a widow.

Kalpi looked bewildered at her brother. Before she could actually decipher the meaning of his words, he pulled her into a bear hug. Kalpi was perplexed yet found it cute.

Pakhya : I will miss you Tinkerbell.. Just promise me that you will call me everyday twice and fight with me.

Kalpi : I promise Bhaiyya. I promise you.

It was at that exact moment that Kamla had called her for the bidaai ceremony. Every step Kalpi took towards the altar made her heart want to run two steps back and run away from the spot. The institution of marriage has always fascinated her and she laughed at the numerous movies where the girl cries while leaving her house after getting married. It was now that Kalpi understood the feelings of a newly married girl. And she now understood how difficult it was. Either way, she was lifeless since Prem had run away and she was now married to Raghav Singhania. Tears ran through her cheeks as she watched her family cry. She felt a warm hand around her shoulders. She turned to see Raghav with his arm around her shoulders. Although she wanted to shrug it off and feel angry, she couldn't help but calm down. His touch was meant for her to calm down and she grudgingly felt grateful. Maybe she could atleast try to get and know him...

Wow ! Great to have you back! I did not expect this story to 'return from the grave ' and had forgotten it. But I am extremely happy to read an update [ oops, sorry, DOUBLE UPDATE ! ] ! It is a great update with RagNa getting married ! The problems will start now, I suppose. Thanks again for bringing some cheer to this Forum !
