At Disha and Kalpis insistence,Daksh checked out of the hotel and moved in with the Jadhavs.Disha was very happy today...things were going her way.Kalpi had achieved her first success,she had been proved right in trusting Kalpi,their company was now in the top rung and its shares were soaring...most importantly Daksh had praised Sammy and said he was a great guy.She also saw how well Daksh and vitthal had bonded.Daksh ,turning up was the biggest surprise for her and also the icing on the cake.There was only one thing that troubled her.Daksh and Kalpi seemed uncomfortable in each others presence...Was it kalpis past ,but Daksh was not aware of it.She had never betrayed Kalpi's confidence.Then why were they so formal.An inner voice said,maybe that was a cloak to hide their true feelings.Yes,she was sure.She had seen them connect when they had shaken hands ...She smiled.Time for part II of her plan.
As Daksh sipped his cup of tea,his mind went back to the meeting hall.His decision to turn up today had been taken at the spur of the moment.As he had spoken to Disha and Kalpi,the previous day,he had realised the import of the meeting for the two of them.He did not know why ,but Disha had said this would mark the return of Kalpi. Return to what? and she said she had worked with Sammy...which means she was with Singhania. Why then ,when Sammy had been forthcoming in his praise,had Raghav stood apart,with that brooding look on his face? Why had Prem Kapoor been exceedingly scathing in his remarks?And that airhead who had called herself Kalpis sister had all but thrown herself at him? There was a bigger picture than what he saw.Anyway,he was glad he had decided to come...for Disha.A small voice at the back of his mind said,Disha only?Not Kalpi? He was proud
Of her today,he thought.The way she had held herself,the way she had put across her thoughts with conviction so lucidly,vow!!!!she was one heck of a girl
Kalpi looked at the waves beating at the rocks.Today was her first victory...But instead of dwelling on it ,her mind constantly went back to Daksh Joshi.When Disha had asked him why he had turned up,he had replied,"for you,my sis.I knew that this was your big day.I wanted to be there...for my family.She thought of how he had sided with her in front of the entire builders association...it was like the lion saying these two were mine,mess with them and you mess with me.There had been an instant undercurrent of respect when Daksh had praised her to one and all.Disha was true...after along time she saw a man who respected ladies and actually fought for them.in the past,she was always aware of men falling like pins at Paakis feet,except probably Raghav.But he too ultimately went behind Paaki.But Daksh did not so much even spare her a second glance.Of course,said the voice,he will be having more beautiful women in Boston.But ,remember what Disha had told .He had never had a girlfriend,he was waiting for the right person ,did you even have such guys in the world today?
To celebrate this special victory,they decided to go out for dinner.Vitthal excused himself and Pakhya was called away on duty.So it was only the three of them.As a spur of the moment decision,for disha,Kalpi asked her to invite Sammy.A silent glance of understanding passed between Daksh and Kalpi.He knew why she was doing it.This was what troubled both of them.It had hardly been few hours since they met,yet they could read the other like a book.Kalpi and Disha both took special care to get ready.Disha ...understandable,but Kalpi? She too was confused.but wait,after all she was going to be seen in Daksh s company ,so she could not look like a drab and put him to shame,she justified.Ha ha laughed her inner conscience.Something about him interests you.Be honest ,kalpi,for the first time in so many years,you have started thinking like a woman ...
Dinner was fun.the quartet was so comfortable with each other.Sammy and Daksh caught up with old times and regaled the girls with humorous tales of their football team. Daksh knew that his sis had fallen and fallen hard.He saw too that Sammy was equally interested.they just need to be left alone to take the next big step.As it was Sammy,whom he knew to be a decent guy,he had already blessed this relationship.As they stood up to leave,he told the trio,"sammy if you do not mind,would you kindly see Disha home?I have some calls from Boston coming.I would like Kalpi around for her inputs.Disha ,im sure will be bored in the process.So could you take her off our shoulders and do me a huge favour?"Sammy was only too happy to oblige and as the two walked away,two pairs of hands crossed their fingers.
" i hope you did not mind me including you in this conspiracy,Kalpi,"daksh said ,as they walked down the beach."but i felt that they really needed time together.who knows before this night is over,we might get to hear yet another snippet of good news?"
Kalpi was happy for Disha and sammy .She too wanted the same.She had meant to talk to Daksh,but even before that, he had read between the lines."she's my sis,kalpi.i love her.And when I love and care for somebody ,I will somehow know of their thoughts even before they tell it aloud" As he said that,both their eyes met.Kalpi felt he looked deep into her soul.For Daksh,it was as if he received a jolt of electricity.As the lightning flashed in the night sky brightening it,Daksh was illuminated.His mother had always told him that when he found the right girl,he would just know...how ,she couldn't tell ,but he would know.Though he had been skeptical,he had faith in his mother,so he had waited all these years,resisting the many temptations that had come his way...and today he understood what she had meant .For at that very moment,he knew...that for him ,for life, Kalpi was his girl.
