That's the how it is in all cultures. In Anglo influenced cultures, it's been left due to that reason. But in other cultures it was traditionally right which now has been changing to left because of the dominant influence.

for men it's right hand baba...girls ring left mei peheti hai..they say left hand vein is directly connected to the heart and i don't know about right hand.phet mei jaata hai shayad..boys will be boys na😆so technically they did put the rings on correct hands😆
