Part 22B:
Recap: Kalpi dozed off thinking what more excuses could Raghav make to meet her!
Singhania Chawl:
Vitthal and Pakya had left early for work. Kamla was busy doing the household chores when Vimla kaaki asked her to accompany her to go to the Mumba devi temple! Kamla was very excited and said ho tai me nakki yenaar. Aadhi kaam sarva niptun ghete. (Sure tai I will come, as soon as I finish all my house work!)
I was only 8.00am in the morning and Kalpi just woke up. She was in her pyjamas and still grinning from ear to ear blushing!
Gauri had woken up early and was as usual reading her English newspaper! When she saw Kalpi get up she asked her how was the dream? Did he trouble you a lot?
Kalpi widened her eyes! She could not believe Attu would say such things to her! Attu please!!! Kuch bhi! and smiled. She limped her way to the restroom to freshen up!
She came out f the bathroom and Kamla came in from outside. She told Kalpi that she will be going to Mumba Devi temple and might get late. I have already made lunch and ur tea with breakfast is also here. And take care that Tai takes her medicines on time!
Kalpi asks her tune kuch khaaya Aai? Did you eat something? Kamla smiled and replied yes beta I had pohe!
She left in a hurry and Kalpi and Gauri had their breakfast and tea and Gauri was teasing her continously!
I am so unlucky that I missed to see him. I am not going to eat these stupid medicines. They made me go to sleep else I would hv met your Raghav Sir!
Kalpi blushed and said he will come again na tab milvaati hun aapse! Oho look at you girl dying to meet him again! Gauri was not ready to keep quiet!!!
Kalpi nodded her head and thought bilkul unke tarah adiyal hai Attu! Then she frowned at herself! What was wrong with her why did she always relate attu to Raghav Sir!
She went to the rest room when somebody knocked the door!
The door was open but the person thought it was better to knock and then enter! He came inside and was surprised to see only Gauri sitting there! Gauri misunderstood the person to be Raghav and asked him aap Kalpi se milne aaye hain na?. He nodded yes.
She calls out to Kalpi informing her of a visitor. Gauri asks the visitor to sit and tells him that Kalpi was waiting for him.
Prem blushed hearing that! Did she really? I mean was really waiting for me? Wow! He sat on the sofa and Kalpi came out!
She was still in her pyjamas. She saw Prem with a surprised look on her face!
Prem what brings you here? Prem answered that he wanted to check if she is feeling better and that she might be feeling bored because she is not going to her office, he shows her some books in his hand.
Paakhi has told me how u are very fond of reading, so I thought I could lend you some of my books to read! He knew Kalpi would never accept the books as a gift and he did not want to take a risk to annoy her!
Kalpi is pleasantly surprised with Prem's behavior and smiles thats was very sweet of you Prem. Were you on your way to office? I hope you do not have some important work? Prem said just the normal routine no special meetings lined up!
Kalpi takes the books from his hands and sits next to him. Unknowingly she sits close to him and Prem is on guard!
He could smell the soap that Kalpi had applied a few minutes back and admired her side profile!
Gauri asked her yehi tere boss hai na Kalpi!? Kalpi introduces him to Gauri as Paakhi's bro Prem! Oh I see says Gauri a bit disappointed smile.
Kalpi was like I dont know Prem when I will be able to return these as I will busy with my office work!
Prem was startled to hear this! How can someone be so heartless to make you work when you are in this condition? Kalpi laughed at Prem's filmi dialogue!
No Prem I was dead bored and myself asked for some work!Waise bhi sprain is not in my wrist but in my ankle. She gushes over the book selection and guffaws over them and asked Prem you have read these books I had wanted to read this one since a long time now! Thanks Prem!
Prem could bear it no longer sitting so close to her and yet wear a mask on his face that she did not affect him! He left saying a goodbye to both Kapi and Gauri!
Kalpi waved bye to him and then glanced at her phone! Oh no Kalpi you better start the work else your Khadoos lover will eat you raw!!!
That evening Vitthal returned home to see Kalpi very happy and excited! What is it my rajkumari? You look so happy that I want you to share it with me right now!
Kalpi was like nothing papa its just that today I had plenty of work and the pain in the leg is also reducing! Vitthal told her that he wanted to discuss something very important to her. Come lets sit outside! They both went down and sat under the tree in the chawl compound!
Ab bolo papa? Vitthal was fighting within himself should he ask Kalpi about this! What if he was right about Raghav? He asked Kalpi indirectly the question.
Kalpi - Vitthal convo:
Vitthal - Where is your Aai?
Kalpi she went to help Sharada tai. She is unwell and she had few blouses to be buttoned. But no one has helped her yet! So aai went to her house to complete the work!
Vitthal - Hmmm You know this is the best quality I like in her. She always helped unknown people and people in need.
Kalpi - Papa did you fall in love with Aai before marriage or after?
Vitthal - was happy that he was leading the convo to the right direction. Well beta I got married to her but I fell in love with her the first time I met her! Her smile was infectious and I could not stop myself to get married to her!
Kalpi - Papa what do you think should be the qualities of the best partner?
Vitthal - Nodded and smiled. So my Rajkumari is so bored with her papa that she wants to be with her Rajkumar!
Kalpi -bataayiyenaa please!
Vitthal - Do you think Raghav will make a good partner? he asked with a tense expression on his face trying to sound as casual as he could
Kalpi - almost choked and coughed and sat straight asking, ' Kya matlab? She was scared. Did he know about them?
Vitthal - Beta I found Raghav making excuses to meet you! Trust me beta I saw him looking at you all the time! If he troubles you too much then come to me! I am not sure what his intentions are but as of now he seems ok to me.
Kalpi - Do you think Raghav is a good person? surpring herself at her audacity to ask her father straight on his face! But she could discuss anything under the sky with her Papa!
Vitthal - So the feeling is mutual, is it? I have no problems in what you decide beta however I do not want you to be too close to him. Try to know him and study him but do not get too involved before you are sure of what you feel for him! I tried to tell ur Aai about it but she is not ready to believe it yet! I think you should talk to her.
Kalpi hugged her father and told him with a sad look on her face. I so wanted to discuss this with Aai but she got a call from Paakhi and she left to meet her! Whenever I need her she is always with Pooki. However as you said tht I should first try to know my feelings for him and also try to know if his feelings are genuine for me! Then we will tell Aai. Till then its our secret ok?
Vitthal: I dont knw Kalpi. I have never hid anything from her. U see very soon she will guage what is going on in your life! And then if she comes to know I did not tell her even when I knew all this she will be sad. But u r also the best daughter in the world so tumhaare liye kuch bhi beta!!!
O Papa you are the bestest father in the world and the best husband in this entire universe! U love Aai so much!!! Wish I am lucky enough to get a husband like you are to Aai!
Vitthal smacks her head lovingly and laughs, pagliii!
A whole week passed by. But Raghav did not come to visit Kalpi they just chatted over the phone. Either Paakhi used to come jumping for the work Kalpi had finished or Sammy who used to collect the files from her or talk about Raghav with her!
Kalpi was restless! Her mood was often angry, disturbed and frustrated for not being able to see him or meet him!
However Prem came regularly to meet Kalpi and dropped in for 5-10 minutes and only then would he leave!! It had become his routine to first visit Kalpi's house in the morning on his way to office!
