Part - 12

Next week passed in silence...silence before the storm. After numerous failed half baked plans finally Raghav managed to drag himself to dinner with Pakhi and ended up on dance floor imaging her as Kalpana. He gained senses just before going dangerously close to her and left the hotel. (I can't write more on Pakhi's date...free to imagine anything you want😡), Raghav cursed himself for ...Ruining his own plan imagining Kalpi everywhere and anywhere

Kalpi has effortlessly filled the emptiness in his life with her simplicity, mesmerizing smile, genuine care and attitude which he hates to accept. A part of him is eager to grab his life in her but his mind is reeling with revenge, the saga of love & revenge is keeping him restless from the day he met Kalpi; though his ruthlessness and arrogance kept her at bay, he himself failed to maintain the stance and always ended up on her side. And lately, to his surprise she is not paying much heed to his arrogance leaving him even more guilty and restless. Raghav has spend the rest of the long and lonely night with only alcohol on his side

"Wow...I guess today Sun might have risen from west, Mr. Attitude King hasn't dropped to office yet" she thought for the umpteenth time checking Raghav's empty cabin. From the day she joined RS group of companies she never saw him coming late unless he has some meeting or construction visit and today he doesn't have any of them. "Maybe something must have cropped up sudden" she thought to herself and busied in work; Though she thought of calling him, couldn't gather enough courage or reason and adding to her bad luck Snigdha is on leave and Sammy was out of station; she doesn't have anyone or anything to put off the restlessness she is feeling with his absence and the day was pretty boring and unusually long moving at a very slow pace.

Late in the afternoon Sammy called her from Pune asking to drop some files at his place as Raghav is taking day off. Kalpi wasn't comfortable with the idea but the files Sammy asked are indeed confidential and she wasn't ready to take any risk. She is not very sure with the idea of meeting Raghav at his home thinking he'll be extra rude for disturbing his privacy...with no other option to skip she decided to take his brunt and of course a part of her want to see him badly. Unknown to her Sammy has tricked Kalpi to visit Raghav as he hasn't stepped out of his room from last night. None of the servants are daring to check him(Raghav Baba hate servant's face) and Maya wasn't in town too; So Sammy asked Kalpi to visit their flat on the pretence to drop those confidential files as he knew she has the nerve to speak against Raghav and put him in place if needed

"Sammy Sir asked to give these files to Raghav Sir, could you please give it to him" she asked the servant who answered her door bell. The man looked at her as fright hearing Raghav's name and guided her to his room saying "Madam you please give them personally and left giving her room keys as per Sammy's instruction. Kalpi cursed Akdu Singhania for his arrogance and gathered courage to face the attitude king in his own den; even after couple of knocks she couldn't hear any voice from inside. She thought for a while and banged his door more loudly, fearing the after effects. This time she heard a faint "Yes", when Kalpi opened the door with spare keys, she was welcomed to an almost dark room reeling with alcohol...all the curtains and blinds closed. It took a minute for her eyes to adjust with the darkness and she saw him lying on the bed in the centre of the room. Kalpi waited for him to speak, yearning no response from his side she cleared her throat and called him again. He responded after 4^th or 5^th cry, hearing his faint voice she felt down. She switched on the lights to see him lying lifeless on the huge bed, side table filled with empty bottles. She moved close to his bed and shocked seeing his wounded hand, he must have crushed some glass thing, she thought to herself.

Kalpana checked his forehead, he is running temperature; seeing him rubbing his forehead with pain she sensed he might be having headache too with hangover. She immediately opened all the curtains and blinds to let the fresh air come inside; she called the house help to call doctor and before that bring some cold water, cloth, hot water and first aid box. Servant told her that Raghav didn't eat single morsel from last night and didn't even stepped out of his room. She soaked the cloth in cold water and spread it on his forehead and cleaned his wounded hand with hot water; he gained conscious with her actions and stared at her as if she is his dream. She replaced the cloth with fresh one and repeated it till doctor came. When doctor dropped in Raghav was fully awake though looking very weak. His injury was properly treated and knowing Raghav's dislike for injections, doctor gave him some tablets. Kalpi wasn't aware of Raghav's dislike for injections, so she innocently asked doctor to give injections as he'll get immediate relief. Though Raghav tried to stop her, she didn't listened a bit to him, held his hand forceing doctor to give injection. "hmmm...this is news Mr.Singhania, at last I have seen you taking injection without making any fuss" doctor exclaimed to Raghav who is lost staring at Kalpi.

She couldn't help but broke into laughter hearing that the great Akdu Singhania's has problem with injections. "Doctor is one injection enough or he needs one more in the evening" she asked again faking innocence ignoring Raghav's angry glare. "We'll see to it, he might need one more...I will come again in the night" replied doctor. "No doctor I'll be fine in couple of hours...tablets are enough" said Raghav; she dismissed his words ..."no sir you should take injection, tablets take more time to show the effect" she added innocently. It is not everyday affair to get the chance of playing with the great Singhania, today is one and Kalpi is enjoying every bit of it to the core ignoring his angry glares! Doctor left handing her some tablets that needed to be given now and after two hours. She helped him to eat porridge, tablets and left the room adjusting his bed as it was getting difficult to stand his intense gaze. She informed her father that she is struck with some work at Raghav's house and will be late to home.

Raghav stared at her retreating form with so much love and gratitude; when he saw her sitting on his bed, he thought it was his hallucination. When he realised she is here for real, guilt has taken over his senses remembering the insults he inflicted on her; whatever the reason might be, he always treated her worse but she is treating him with so much care and empathy. Kalpi's genuine care made him carve for her even more and he hates to accept that she is becoming his weakness, his need and his love?? He stay awake in his room waiting for her to return, with no sign of Kalpi he thought she might have left; Though the thought of her leaving left him desperate, he thanked stars as he don't need to fight his emotions to stop himself from pulling her into his embrace. But his luck failed him this time too and Kalpi walked in with tablets and water after few minutes.

"I don't remember appointing you as nurse" he asked sarcastically. Congrats Kalpi, Khadoos is back in full form, she murmured and replied "Yeah you don't ...but I don't charge for taming spoilt brats, free service you know" she replied. Raghav broke into a laughter understanding the meaning of her words, Kalpi saw him in awe at the rare sight of Khadoos Singhania genuinely laughing. "He looks so good with that laughter" she thought to herself and got up to leave. "Please sit" he asked huskily pointing to the side of him. Kalpi wasn't comfortable sitting close to him when he is fully awake but there is something in him that draws her to him, she gave into her weird craziness and settled on his bed at a safe distance. He took her hand and started rubbing with it on his forehead; Kalpi was initially shocked with his bold move but didn't pulled her hand. The room is filled with pure silence; though none of them spoke a word they didn't felt a bit of awkwardness and enjoyed the little privacy cherishing the moments. He slowly drifted into sleep as medicines started working, Kalpi left his room after adjusting the duvet and for one last time he ruffled his hair affectionately; Raghav opened his eyes with her touch to find the room empty...he couldn't fathom is that for real or he is hallucinating again but slowly he dozed off !!

After many years that night Raghav slept peacefully. Late in the night Sammy came to check his friend and felt relieved seeing the tiny smile on his friends face which is otherwise furrowed with distress "finally Kalpana's charm is working" he exclaimed smilingly !

Finally I am done with one of the boring updates...free to throw anything, this time sade ande too😉
