A Twisted Tale Part 16

Sammy reached office in the said 10 minutes thanks to no morning traffic. He went straight into Kalpi's cubicle who was working on her desktop.

Sammy: I'm telling you it has to something really important for waking me up at this hour... what is it???

Kalpi: (without looking up) look at this (turning the screen in his direction)

Sammy was looking at the screen with eyes wide open.

Sammy: wh...ere.. where did... you get this from?

Kalpi: I just had to do a little homework!!!! ... read a few old international papers and crosschecked their mails and bank accounts.

Sammy: (surprised) Ooo..hhh..kkk!!! And how exactly did you manage to do that (crossing his arms on his chest)?????

Kalpi: (still looking at the screen) ummm you know... I just... kind of... hacked their accounts.

Sammy: (settling on the chair next to her and throwing his hands up in disbelief) goddd Kalpi, It's a crime!!!!

Kalpi: Chor k ghar chori karna is not a crime... now (looks at Sammy) I need your help alright, Raghav is in trouble!

Sammy: (after a little pause) you can't take no for anything na... tell me what you want me to do.

Kalpi: I have a plan,,,, I want you to use your sources, contact Scotland yard police, collect every detail & proofs against Grewals.

Sammy: I'm on. Can I ask you something??

Kalpi: of course Sammy... shoot.

Sammy: you really care for him, right?

Kalpi: (bit apprehensively) haaa!!! He is my boss Sammy,,, and if he is in a trouble it will affect my job too.

Sammy: Mujhe samjha rahi ho ya khud ko??? U know u have plenty of job option out there but u'r still sitting in this office, committing a cyber crime only to save a man... who never treated you well, always humiliated you and always underestimated you... now Maa'm don't you try lying to me... it's not the first time you are helping Raghav... you should let him suffer (in provoking tone)

Kalpi: (being annoyed) Yeah Sammy you are right, I want to help him because he has always helped me plus he is a good man. You should be happy that I'm helping him but here you are standing in front of me and giving me a lecture, and you call yourself his best friend!! (she said in a flow without thinking of what she was saying.)

Sammy: But yo...

Kalpi: (cutting him mid way) we are done with this topic Sammy!

Sammy and Kalpi collected all the details. It was now 8 in the morning and they were still discussing about the plan.

Sammy: I can't believe Priya can do such things.

Kalpi: you still have doubts??? That is how they have made this much fortune.

Sammy: No!!! We need to be very careful.

Kalpi: I know, but don't worry we'll take them down.

Sammy: ok... Breakfast?

Kalpi: sure we do have a kitchen in the office. I'll make something.

A few minutes later, Sammy's phone buzzed, it was Raghav.

Sammy: hey Raghav

Raaghav: (in harsh voice) where are you, are you coming home or not?

Sammy: yeah i'll be back in a while.

Just then kalpi entered with breakfast in plates.

Kalpi: breakfast is ready.

Raghav heard her voice and then disconnected the call in anger.

Kalpi: (with sarcasm) the office kitchen is really posh,,, I got to make Pasta.

Sammy: how would this poor kitchen know that one day you'll be making "breakfast" here (with impish grin)

Kalpi: stop grinning and eat.

Sammy: (curiously) tell me something... from where did you learn hacking?

Kalpi: well, it happened by chance (grins)

Sammy: Hmmm interesting... but don't ever try to hack my or Raghav's account.

Kalpi: (shaking her head) why would I do that. ... And moreover, what's there in your accounts, bank statements, client profiles, sources contacts and Pakhi's photographs etc etc etc...

Sammy: (surprisingly) hold on hold on... How do you know that... have you already hacked our accounts??

Kalpi: crazy or what ... this is the first & probably the last time I've hacked any account. And about knowing what's in your accounts, It's called common sense, which you lackJ. (pointing fore finger to him) Now, Mr Sameer Raizaada don't you dare tell this to Raghav, he will deliberately put me behind the bars, you get that.

Sammy: (cupped his face in his own hands & looks at her with a sarcastic smile) you know what, Raghav really knows you well Kalpi. You surely are scary.

Kalpi: (with smirk)Even worst.

Sammy: hmmm... bt looking at the critical situation, we can use some worst things (winks)

They both started laughing. After some time Sammy dropped her home and headed towards Singhania Mansion.

Sammy's POV: What would I tell him, he must be frowning right now? I have to think of some good excuses.

Sammy reached home and found out that Raghav had already left for the office. He heaved a sigh of relief.

Sammy's POV: hfff at least for now I don't have to give any excuse. But why did he left so early?

At Office

Raghav was going through newspapers but was thinking of something else.

Raghav's POV: Something is definitely fishy going around. Sammy is behaving weird, he is hiding something but not sure what. But mujhe iss baat se itna farak kyun pad raha hai k Kalpi kya soch rahi hogi meri bare mein. I should concentrate on work for now otherwise I'll land up in mental asylum.

Later in noon, everybody including Grewals has come to office. Pakhi was still trying to tlak to Sammy but to no avail. Kalpi was busy with her work.

Priya was talking to Raghav in his office.

Priya: look Rags you can't ignore me.

Raghav: (sternly) exactly I can't ignore you because you are a big nothing for me.

Priya: why getting hyper baby, do I affect you this much. I'll compensate for every pain I caused you.

Raghav: get lost from here before I call up the security.

Priya: you won't do that you why because if you tried anything like that this photograph would go viral within seconds.

She showed her a photograph from yesterday's incident where Raghav was holding her hands. Raghav went blank seeing that.

Priya: (with evil smile) you know what it means right, and I'm sure Kalpana will testify my statement.

Raghav's eyes went red in anger.

Raghav: You are sick,,, Don't play with fire and don't drag Kalpana into this matter.

Priya: ohhh sure we can deal with this in a civilised manner. All you have to do is to transfer the power of attorney in Rony's name.

Raghav: you haven't changed, and that is why I left you.

Priya: (with bitterness) And you have pay for insulting me Raghav.

Saying this Priya stepped out of his office.

Raghav's POV: she actually trapped me... what to do now... above that she is including Kalpi in all this... but I just can't gave away everything to this gold digger. I'm so ashamed that I even know her.

Meanwhile Kalpi was talking to Vithal on the phone when Rony and Priya came to meet her. She was surprised to see them. Her plan was to be implemented in evening, not now.

Kalpi's POV: This is not the time to back off Kalpi, you have to do something... vo bhi abhi... Sorry Sammy but I have to change the plan!

Priya: Kalpana I need to talk to u about what happened between me and Raghav. You know Raghav & I were in a relationship during our college bt it didn't work out. I never knew Raghav still not over me and I was shocked when he tried to sexually harass me yesterday (shedding the crocodile tears).

Rony: Kalpana, she is broken and i'm still shocked. Since you witnessed everything, we want you to testify against Raghav.

Priya: (sobbing) yes I want that bloody ma...

Kalpi: (shouts) Not a single word against Raghav!!!!!!! and for heaven sake stop shedding these crocodile tears. They are not gonna work on me.

Rony: (in anger) what are you saying??

Kalpi: (snapping) The truth! You think you are very smart but that's only a myth. You tried to blackmail Raghav, frame him in a forge case, so that he transfers the power of attorney in your name and if doesn't do that you would call the deal off which will cost him a few millions and his reputation. Your plan was to con Raghav. Isn't this the way you made this big fortune.

Priya: (acting hurt) what are you saying, I'm the victim.

Kalpi: Nooo Nooo Not you, but Raghav is the victim... and you have played the same trick with many others. Just last month Mr Jack Cruise transferred a very big amount in your account because you were blackmailing him with those pictures. One more man has filed a case of extortion & blackmailing against you both with Scotland Yard police. Tell me if I'm wrong!

Rony and Priya both were looking at her with shocked expressions.

Rony: (nervously) how do you know that?

Kalpi: Since you have asked, lemme tell you that your security passwords are really weak. And I have enough proof against you. So you better drop this idea of taking revenge upon Raghav.

For next few minutes, the room went in pin drop silence state

Rony: (clapping) you are a very smart & intelligent girl Kalpana... I like you. What are you doing with Raghav, join hands with us, you will play in billions just like Priya (trying to touch her but got a tight punch in return)

Kalpi: No body, nobody can touch me without my permission you sick man... and the man you are talking about, he (Raghav) is a genius. (Turning towards Priya angrily) I was feeling bad for Raghav initially but now I'm so happy that you left him. God actually saved his life from a selfish bitch like you. No wonder you chose Rony over Raghav, he is the only one you deserve.

Priya: you are making the wrong choice... these proofs tell you nothing about Raghav...

Kalpi: (warning Priya) You are not even the last person from whom I need to learn anything about Raghav.

Priya was to say something but Kalpi didn't let her speak.

Kalpi: Your time is over, you'll go to Raghav and would appologise to him right away.

Priya: (with attitude) why do you think I'm gonna do this.

Kalpi: (In same tone) tum abhi jakar unse maafi mangogi or all these videos and proofs will go public in a blinks time.

Kalpi was leaving the office but turned back to say final words.

Kalpi: These proofs are for you only... Raghav never ever has to explain anything about this to me! I believe in him ! ek aur baat, Scotland Yard ki tarah Mumabai police bhi juban se jyada hath chalati hain. You have no choice but to admit your sins.

Kalpi left the room, and Grewals were still trying to retrace what had happened just now. Raghav overheard everything and was really amazed how well Kalpi handled the situation. He was very happy that Kalpi believed in him. He was smiling to himself like a fool.

Few minutes later Priya met Raghav.

Priya: I'm sorry Raghav, I shouldn't have behaved with you like that. I was angry with you for insulting me and about that picture thing i didn't mean to do anything like that. I can't hurt you.

Raghav: (now looking up at her) such a good lier you are. But I want to thank you for doing an unknown but major favour to me.

Just then Sammy & Rony also entered the room.

Raghav: Mr Grewal, I was just thinking about you only.

Rony: I'm here now.

Raghav: The deal is off.

Rony & Priya: what??

Raghav: u heard me, the,,,, deal,,,, is,,,,, off... & I have a better place for you to go.

Rony: you can't do that.. you'll be at loss.

Sammy: don't worry about us... think about yourself... you owe him lots of money!

Raghav: exactly, you two will get what you deserve

Priya: (almost crying) you can't do this Rags we are friends.

Raghav: haaa! Friends?? Friends don't take revenge alright. You are nothing but a lair and a loser. police will be here any second.

Rony: you are messing with a wrong person.

Raghav: (angrily) So are you! The deal is off & you are screwed.

he punched him in his face and said,"this is for hurting Kalpi".

Police came there and arrested Priya and Rony. The whole office was surprised with the arrest.

Sammy: (to Raghav) I'll take care of them.

Raghav: you & Kalpi knew about it right.

Sammy: yeah... we came to know about it in the morning.

Raghav: (smilingly) thank you yaar

Sammy: say thanks to Kalpi, It was her plan though she had to change it at the last moment.

Raghav: yeah I would thank her later, if only she listens to me!

Sammy: keep trying, I've to go somewhere i'll catch u later.

Sammy went to Kalpi to congratulate her.

Sammy: the plan went well, credit goes to you.

Kalpi: Credit goes to u too (they shared high-5)

Sammy: (with concern) I'll be little busy won't b able to drop you home, can u call someone to pick u up?

Kalpi: that's all right, I'll call someone.

Sammy: ok bye

Kalpi: byee..

Pakhi had left. Raghav had asked Kalpi to go through all the account files. It was 11:30pm and she was still working. One of her colleagues offered Kalpi a ride home, he was waiting for her in the parking.

Kalpi: I'm done! (she was carrying a big box)

The guy: (pulling her from arm) let's go..

"She isn't going with you", said Raghav, who was glaring at the guy from a distance.

Kalpi freed her arm from his grip and put the box down in frustration.

Raghav: (coming near her) you can't go, we still have work to do.

Kalpi: but I'v done my work and rest I can do from home.

Raghav: (to guy) you can leave!

The guy left without questioning anything.

One of her colleagues offered kalpi a ride home.

Kalpi: but I wanna go home.

Raghav: (getting angry) You are not going with him!

Kalpi: I'm going.

She turned to move forward, but was left stunned with Raghav's reaction.
