It was the month of June.A month which is the start of new academics.
Kalpi had shifted from a small place in Dehardun to Mumbai.She came to Mumbai with big dreams,hopes and aspirations and had that fire inside her to fulfil them.
So...It was her first day in St Xaviers college, two days after her shift.
She was feeling quite nervous and that was very obvious from her face.
College was at 9 am and was at 25 minutes walking distance from her home.She left home at Around 8 .
It was heavily raining outside.Kalpi had only reached half way
Kalpi :"Offo! This rain also naa comes at wrong time only...!!
As she was walking she was getting confused with way to her college
She tapped her forehead with her palm and said "Oh no!!!I forgot my way to college..how silly can i get !
I should have let mom cum with me. What to do now..?? Hmmm...i think i should call up Mom"
Her palm was fully wet
She dialled Kamla's number with shivering fingers but cancelled it thinking that her mother might get worried
She saw here and there but she could see no one.
The place was quite silent and deserted.
Fear gripped her at each step and she walked faster not knowing where she was going...
She kept on walking.Far at a corner she saw a teastall.
She thanked God and ran towards the teastall.
There she went towards a boy who was having tea with his back leaned to the car.
Kalpi:"Excuse me...Can u please tell the way to St Xaviers college"Kalpi said it breathing heavily.
Boy:"Yes of course.I am from that college
You can come with if u dont mind"
Kalpi looked at him and said "Why should i believe you ?"
Boy:"hmm...wait a minute "
He said keeping the empty cup of tea at the table of the teastall and went inside the car.
Inside he opened his bag and took out his identity card and came out.He handed over the identity card to Kalpi and said :"I guess now you can believe me!"
Kalpi looked at the id card and it proved that he was telling the truth
Kalpi looked at him and smiled.She had no choice but to go with him.Both of them sat inside the car
Boy:"By the way can i know your name?"
Kalpi:"Kalpana"she said it with a mild smile on her face
Boy:"Nice..dont you want to know my name??"he said with a smirk on his face.
Kalpi"I know...Raghav!"
Raghav"How?"Kalpi:"Obviously from your id card!"
Raghav:"Oh is that so!
But I had given it to see the college's name and u saw my name also..! You seem to be interested in me 😉"He said in a teasing manner and both of them burst into a small laugh.
This was the beginning of a new bond of friendship between them.But both of them were unaware that destiny had something else only in store for them
There was silence in the car except that the voice of heavy rains could be clearly heard.
Raghav thought of switching on the radio in his car.As soon as he did that Atif Aslam's music track had just started to play...
Tera ban baitha hai mera jiyaa...❤️❤️
There was an akward silence between them.
Both looked at each other.Kalpi blushed a little 😳.Raghav looked at her and he too smiled😛
Raghav switched off the radio and said trying to deviate from the current situation "Have ever tasted corn??"
Kalpi"Yes i like it a lot...You know when i was in Dehradun i used to it a lot...and naa my baba used to bring it almost daily for we two sisters!!"kalpi said it chirpingly.
Raghav:"Ohh so your new to Mumbai!
When we get time we both will have a mumbai visit"
Kalpi Smiled at him
A knock at the door Raghav woke up from his past and came him back to the present
It was Sammy at the door
