Today, film actors charge huge sums as remuneration, which every filmmaker may not want to shell out. So, since television actors have their own fan following, filmmakers have the option of choosing television stars who are bankable. The television industry has helped me create an identity. In the near future, if I do a film, I will concentrate on it completely.

It works both ways. The difference is that since TV actors are watched almost daily, they need to take a break before switching mediums. However, film actors are seen in a variety of roles and the audience doesn't classify them according to the characters they play. I have been getting offers in films but I believe television has given me everything and my audience follows and loves me. So, for me, switching to films at this point is not possible. It is also almost impossible to juggle between the two mediums.

I don't think films have only just opened the door to television celebrities. For instance, Irrfan Khan, who started his career with television, is now an internationally known actor. The good thing about television is it gives you time to learn things. You're constantly on the sets, facing the camera and working under pressure. So you tend to pick up quickly. Many actors have switched from television to films but couldn't make a mark because their small-screen image has got in the way. So TV actors must maintain a healthy gap while switching from the small screen to the big one.
