Chapter 4
after convincing bhabhi for about half an hour, i succeeded in sending her home, convincing that i am with Manvi... after all she was fine now... but i want her to stay in hospital for atleast one day... all in all donot want to take risk...
after spending more of an hour with my patients, i moved towards manvi's room,
she was sitting on the bed in her usual style with legs crossed...
was looking a little bit irritated, quite usual of a cancer patient but pretending to be normal...
"Whats wrong Manvi" I enquired
"Nothing wrong Virat, and whats wrong with you? Why you send Di back?... and I want her right now...she almost jumped at me
"Manvi, Hold on, Control on... Bhabhi was tired thats why i sent her back, Whats wrong in that? i tried to explain her
Manvi: Tired...? So Am I... send me home tooo No actually i wanna go back to Hirishikesh... Right Now...
"Are you mad Manvi?" Before i could reply, I heard Bhabhi's voice at the back... She was back, quite expected...
Manvi: Di, I wanna go back to Hirishikesh, thats it...
"Manvi, calm down... Wait for some days, then you will be in Hirishikesh all fine" I assured her in a determined way
Manvi: No Virat, I wanna go back right now... Otherwise i am not gonna take the medicines and I mean it...
I looked for the stubborness in her eyes, I could see the things irritating her now...
Jeevika: Manvi, Enough of yours... now off to sleep and no more discussion
and SHE really obeyed bhabhi, lay down on the bed and closed her eyes... Though I want the same but at the same time I wanted her to fight back... and within in no time she was off to sleep
"Bhabhi, Why are you back? i told you that i am here with Manvi? i questioned
Jeevika: "Wait Wait Virat, I am Going back and here is the dinner for you, its alredy 9:30... and are u sure, you wanna stay here?"
"YES, have lot of work pending, So thats why... and dont worry, I will take care of manvi, so now go and Relax" I replied
"Ok Bye Virat... Take care" she replied before leaving
After bhabhi has gone, I went near Manvi... She was sleeping so peacefully... I smiled.. From last two hours I was smiling without any purpose i guess..
I just took a deep breath and thanks to God as she was safe in front of me...
Just then my phone started ringing, it was my assistant's call...
"Sir, there is call from Mumbai on your land line"
"I am coming, ask them to hold" after replying him I called the Nurse and asked her to take care of Manvi for the time i am not with her..
I was in my cabin, busy with some documents to be signed and studying the case history of one of my patient...
There was a knock at the door, and I saw the Nurse whom i appointed for Manvi's care..
"What happened, Why you there" I asked immediately
"Sir, that patient Manvi is not cooperating with her treatment now, she is not taking her medicines, I think its time to appoint a psychologist for her now" she answered
I felt numbed for a moment...
"Oh really, YOU think so? Its not your duty to think about it... I am there for it, for her... Moreover if she was awke, why didnt you inform me? rather thaen thinking of stupid ideas... and wait, You left her alone? Didnt you? whats wrong with all the people here? Are u dealing with first patient there?" I literally bursted upon her
She gave me a conmfused look... It was quite usual of this hospital to appoint a psychologist for a patient not cooperating but I DONT KNOW WHY but i dont like it for HER... and ofcourse there was no need to be when i was there for her...
"Leave it, I am going there, So you better go" I ordered her and headed towards Manvi's room...
"Can I ask, Why you r not taking your medicines" I enquired
"NO", she just replied
"And Can I ask Why so?" I further asked
"Again a big No, bcoz I already told you, so stop wasting my precious time" she was in mood to fight back and i liked it
"Ok, you wanna go back to Hirishikesh, Lets Go, Bhabhi is always over protective, over caring, I mean, she should give u some space now... you can lead your life in your own way so enough of her interference, Lets go" I tried to be smart
"What the hell are you talking Virat and why are you blaming Di... And donot try to play games with me, If you r smart then I am oversmart" She was really on fire today
I just couldnt help smiling at her so called oversmartness...
And then I noticed her eyes, which were used to be bright and colourfull,but today they seemed different, were showing a little bit different colour today... a little bit dullness, a little bit pain in them, yet struggling for something... at that time I just wished if i could make them bright like before all of a sudden...I just wished...
By looking into her eyes, I pleaded once again softly, "Manvi plz take the medicines"
And to my surprise, she just smiled and took the medicines without arguing any more...
