The show started, and about three months after that Jeevika got married. Now Jeevika and Viren had their anniversary a couple months back. That, with the pregnancy in mind, means they've been married for about a year and a half, give or take a couple of months. Add all that together and you've got *nearly* two years.

It's approximate, but there abouts, and Manvi has been showing symptoms since the first couple of epi's, so it's no great exaggeration to place it at two years.

I'll just say. hats off to your tenacity.. to even HOPE or still expect any semblance in the farce called script in the show..

its been insipid.. and I cant sit through such public ridicule of medical science.. i take offense as someone invested in life sciences.. and if nothing its just presents an extremely inaccurate picture to the uninitiated general populace.. there r 238392 other things to create drama.. please leave medicine ALONE.. I dont mind this being a typical saas bahu behen kitchen politics (not that I even watch this show irrespective) but at least it wont make a mockery of a serious health hazard and the professionals who are focussed towards finding some answers and some treatments..

i gave up on the show when I felt myself being bitter to the extent of thinking the behnas dont deserve any other relationship in their life (including motherhood...) believe of faint there are few much well written desi shows out there (well m watching one an yr old n not on air now) that make a lot of sense and there is talent and precision in indian tv i wont generalize.. its the vicious dumbing of society that makes logic and sensibility relegated to a niche at best.. so all the best to you.. may your crusade even make it to any writer's hungover mind

I'm glad you made a post about this...I'm so frustrated with the treatment of cancer in this show. Today's episode more so left me dazed...still breaking my head to understand it. Firstly they hardly showed M having any sort of treatment since they detected cancer, secondly they talk about bone marrow procedure like a simple test and with 100percent success rate that they are celebrating and finally todays episode left me baffled...some new entry, god knows to serve what purpose...medical carelessness...I can go on...will J just donate in a blink of an eye and boom we are done...crazy...

:L I feel quite stupid to be holding on to hope for so long. This is probably post number X about the handling of cancer, and each time, it's annoying because you want to believe in hope that someday, they'll realise their mistake and try and put things right, but the reality is that nothings ever gonna change. Letting out our frustration like this, at the end of the day, has no use in a practical sense. Who else is gonna view this, if not for yet another disgruntled viewer.

I'm slightly jealous of you, you've managed to distance yourself to the show to some degree so bravo! I can't begin to imagine the anger and annoyance from people like yourself who are from a background being attacked so shamelessly by this show. SP's like one of a few Indian channels I have, and it's something my mother watches religiously so it's the only one I see on the side and maybe it's just that channel as a singularity, but the typical saas-bahu crap really seems to be regurgitated throughout the tv guide. So I kinda find it surprising that there are shows out there with some semblance of reality in them.

I'm just waiting for the day that we see something that can really commend the medical profession coming from a mainstream Indian channel. Can you begin to imagine the likes of an Indian version of ER, House, or even Scrubs? It's a long shot, but somewhere in the future will come the day. In regards to the sisters, yes, their obsessive love is irrational and completely out there and I guess that's the point behind it. It's not for everyone to love and adore; God only knows the amount of times I've really not connected with them. For me, the brothers always seemed more real to me and that will probably never change.

But thank you for your reply Sonali, and don't worry, I'll continue this crusade. I think I'm on my Fourth Crusade now, there's still another five to go before I officially give up and let them take Jerusalem forever.

And thanks for this info. So in reality, Jeevika has to wait for 2 weeks after abortion to even donate blood😕 Dint think of that at all.

Yeah, there's a general period of two weeks after a birth or an abortion in which a woman has to wait before donating their blood, bone marrow or stem cells.

If you think about the amount of blood lost during birth or just the amount of changes (physical and hormonal) that happens during both birth and abortions, the woman has to recuperate or else the effects on her health could be dire in some circumstances.

It's much much much more complicated than the, bang had an abortion, now let me go donate my bone marrow. Even the procedure itself is quite complicated: http://www.bpas.org/bpaswoman/sandras-leaflet

There's no immediate solution to the 'problem'.

In todays episode EHMMBH have really proven saas sanu drama and sagas. Everyhing today wss so.. Whats tge word 'common',, it feels like i have seen identical scenes 100 times on star plus, here i was thinking that this show was different.
Dont get me wrong, there have been countless episodes i have adored, but this one will easily fit into worst episode category
Cvs cannot handle cancer. Full stop.
I hope we do. Ot see a repetition of these kind of episodes again, beware. This is a warning CVs.

Excellent post again🤗

That's the problem I've been having with the show for the last couple months. Everything seems almost typical, and definitely have seen every single aspect of this show elsewhere: the two sisters, the two brothers, a grey character who doesn't want a marriage, a love triangle, misunderstandings before and after marriage, the perfect husband, the leukaemia, running out of options, love to hate relationship, generation gap, missing parent/parents etc Nothing's unique, that's the truth.

What had made the show special was how they dealt with the slightly cliche aspects of the show, and it started off great, but now it's just the same drivel like we see elsewhere. The magic is gone, there are little flickers that show every once in a while but the flame that kept the show running is dying out. And I fear, here comes the end of an era.

Anyway, thank you for the reply :)

haha on your final crusade and taken to Jerusalem.. cheeky.. very cheeky..

now that you bring up ER.. let me show you a classic example of intellectual regression on desi tv.. around 10 yrs back when i was a little kid.. there were couple tv shows on medicine- Star plus' sanjeevani by cinevistaas (same makers as EHM) in fact the leas was Dr. Rahul Mehra- the same character / actor who has been brought in EHM now.. but as with CVs lack of auntheticity lineage after few episodes the show became eye candy romance but thats not the point.. around same time sony tv launched another medico show Dhadkan.. and all i remember from it was it was ver ER-ish.. and rather authentic.. and of course Sushant Singh as one of the docs.. I was looking for it on google now as I for obv reasons forgot the name of the show.. lolll and guess what i find.. an article dated 10 yrs back.. still holding relevance.. same drill are the audience gonna lap up authenticity in fiction or will they only care for drama

The idea and concept of this show has always been about Maanvi being serious ill. How hard was it for the writers to set up a research team to find out about the disease they are willing to give their character. Not even that, simply talk to a doctor. I still have no clue why I am still holding hope out for this show. I cannot stand saas bahu dramas as they create drama out of the most ridiculous things. Here is someone which a medical condition. One which is known to many, most people have known someone close to them suffereing from any form of cancer - yet they cannot get their facts straight. Three chemo sessions in a span of 6 months! (as Maanvi found out in March) Chemo normally runs in cycles with 4-8 sessions in one cycle and people often have multiple cycles. The idea that BMT is the only form of treatment is astounding. I would not have minded the writers going down this route if it wasn't for that dialogue. There is so many different treatments and what do they decide to do, possible go down the most controversial topic in the world - abortion. If they cannot handle cancer with the respect, that it needs then what hope is there than this highly sensitivity issue can be taken care of. I don't know if they think we are dumb or cannot handle the actual medical side of it. Honestly didn't know that expectant mothers can possible donate even with little risk. That could have been a route they could have exploited.

I actually really enjoy medical dramas, like ER, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice (haven't seen House but I know it's good) I would love to see something like that on Indian screens. I know those shows are hospital dramas yet this same production house did DMG which had no medical sense at all. I don't know why the writers think that they cannot show drama in relations alongside the medical aspect of cancer. God if Izzie from Grey's can have a stage four cancer with a 5% chance of survival and still live - along with having issues with her bf and to be husband. Then Maanvi could have had the same treatment.

@Sonali I remember Dharkan, now that was a medical show that had some sense and still kept drama for it's doctors

The show lost its magic way before the cancer track started...

I personally have seen my loved ones suffering from the same disease and its no where close to what they showed on this show...It is very painful...

I know this is a desi TV show which needs drama but in the name of drama and TRPs they lost the plot and have shown a senseless story...

Logic is gone out the window as has whatever made the show special. And on this highway to hell, they've managed to drag along everyone with them. And in the meantime, the amount of pain they've cause subconsciously is immense. Everyone has either been effected personally or through others with these issues, and it's not something they should take lightly.

They've simplified things to such a depth that those who don't know the full truth won't see the dire consequences connected to these issues, and especially with cancer, there maybe sufferers out there who may find themselves feeling bad/completely lost by what they see a cancer patient *should* be and how they are. People will undoubtedly draw parallels from what they experience and what they see through the magic box.

No wonder TRP's are going down, I refuse to believe that there are real viewers who don't find anything wrong and aren't the slight bit disappointed by the show.

Thanks Jenna x
