i remember how mjht had turned our fav mayank to a champu. 😆
i thought, at the beginning few months of this show, that manvi was going to be one of my most fav characters. and now they've turned her into an annoying clown as well.
let's have an ehmmbh/mjht crossover, with mayank-champu, manvi-clown, and mayank/champu's shirts!😛

I don't usually post on this forum...but I just had to after reading your post..First of all a hundred times like to your post.
This show lost its charm after Jeevika's wedding, but I still watched because well somewhere I thought it would get better...sadly the last few weeks/months have been total W*F is going on. And the other day when I read the writer of the so amazing Sitara ek LOWE stories is writing for this show, everything made total sense. No wonder this show has gone to the dogs.. I highly doubt she even READ up on the main chracteristics of each character or even knows anything about the previous storylines because each character is acting totally weird. Viren is a lawyer; he's supposed to be impartial but he was so unbelievably biased against Maya. Why? Because she ordered food from outside and lied about it. Virat who was sensible, smart, fair, spoke up for injustice has been reduced to a total loser in my eyes when his back story was revealed. I still can't even believe he gave up his music, attempted suicide because Maya said we should focus on our careers before getting married right now. Okay then. Its pointless to even talk about the lamegiri he's been indulging in since he got back with Maya. Jeevika..does she even exist? Reminds me of another behna on SP who's role was reduced to being the furniture of the show after she got married..I'm talking about Ragini from Bidaai here. Maanvi..hers is the type of character you're supposed to deal with the most sensitivity because the "fun-loving, bindaas" people so easily become annoying..and clearly the writers of this show have no clue what the difference between a clown and a fun-loving person is.
I was also really looking forward to the VirMan story in this show..they had a natural camaraderie in their earlier scenes..and it seemed different from the usual trip-catch-eyelock stories. Plus I was really looking forward to how Maanvi's terminal illness affects their story. There's just SO much potential here it's unbelievable. But alas...it's obvious that Virat-Maanvi ARE going to turn into the HAWT Sitara Ek couples who have nothing better to do than having HAWT scenes. Virat won't be able to keep his pants on and Maanvi will keep shying away. Cancer gaya bhad mein. What else can be expected from the writer of the amazing shows called CMG, MJM and others.. đŸ„± I doubt she even knows how to write anythign else.
Now..the cancer. Haha what cancer? Maanvi has cancer? I would never guess. Showing her hair falling twice is not what cancer is all about..though I'll admit I was SHOCKED that they even managed to show that much. I've seen first hand what cancer does to people..I saw my fun-loving extremely strong grandma turn into a reasonably weaker, frail, depressed person who was in immense pain...bogged down by the slow recovery process...she even refused to talk to us days before she passed away. She tried her best to fight it for 2 years, but eventually..the cancer just got the the better of her.. She was of course affected horribly, but my grandpa also..he was so much thinner, frail during her illness..tbh I was more scared for him than my grandma..I'm sure everyone else has at least HEARD of one person going through this deadly disease if not seen them go through it..the way this show is showing it is uber lame...it's disgusting what a mockery they make of such serious issues on TV..all in the name of TRP's. If you can't show it properly then don't show it AT ALL.
First they DRAGGEDDD the revelation which was utter rubbish...now Maanvi's cancer apperas and disappears as the writers wish. HELLO. It's not a damn fever..it's CANCER. She goes through chemo and comes out dancing and happy. W*F. Do the writers even know the side effects of chemo? loss of hair is just one..there's nausea, loss of appetite, vomitting, fatigue, weakened immune system which obviously makes the patient far more prone to other infections etc. Not to mention, most of the patients need a counselor/psychiatrist to help them come to terms with what is going on. Maanvi may be a jovial person, but she ain't superwoman, so the writers should stop showing her as one. So inconsistent..one minute she's dizzy, the next she starts running and dancing. đŸ€Ș
Whew.that's a really long rant. But I guess I finally got it all out of my system.

But it got to much. My brother had cancer. It was nothing like that. They made It real when her hair came out. But the ilness can't come & go whenever it likes. I wish best luck for the couple. & Its Romance scenes.

The writers forgot the plot about the sisters. Not even a single 3 minute Conversation In the whole 22 minute show. I think they have'nt learnt after DMG. The can't even look at the proper show's couple/JM.

& Making Virat's character Spoilt. Waaay to gooo. I'm hoping to see his character baack. Or I am having no expectations for the show. & the part where he falls in love with M in seconds. I'm not even going to start.

P.s amazing post.

@ the part in red - i am sooo happy that i am not the only one thinks that way too!!! I posted a thread yesterday on about maanvi (which was my first ever thread) and i mention that i had 3 hours left till i watch the episode...but i read all the topics and became excited to actually watch it to see what happens...and like literally when i saw his 2 second realisation i was just sitting there staring blankly at my tv screen, my brother looked at me and the only thing that came out of my mouth was 'REALLY??' i mean come on it honestly did not feel right at all!! and i am not even going to talk about the sequence they had, it just didnt feel like Virmaan...wayy too soppy for me and for the couple...

and now back to the topic

@ Kavya_KraZQueen - firstly i would like to say that this is an amazing post!!! i honestly enjoyed reading it and to some extent i mostly agree with every word you said...i am a regular veiwer of the show, and i love it, i mean i like to watch the show even though it has had its ups and down...i really did enjoy the beginning of the show, the initial stage was fantastic (well it was new, so i guess they had to attract the viewers somehow)

but like the current story is kind of everywhere...i have not seen some sort of consistency...like i see the show becoming another DMG and i used to watch that how but it came to a point where i could not even watch it anymore...and i honestly do not hope that the same happens to this show...i dont want to be watching a show where all we see are the main couples being all gaga over eachother (not that i know like the couples i am a fan of both virika and virmaan)...i mean the show is about the 2 sisters jeevika and maanvi, and nowadays we hardly see them share some sort of scenes together even if it were a 2 minute phone call!! so we are already noticing that have shifted away from the title of he show itself...

but the one thing which is really really irritating me is how they are treating the cancer track...that is the main trigger for me watching the show itself other than the sisterly bond...i have seen soo many cancer patients in my life and my uncle had cancer and the way they are showing it is not right...the symptoms do not come and go whenever you like...the only realistic part i have seen is when maanvi realised her hair loss, and the sudden tiredness she gets from the chemo, and ofc when she has serious fainting episode she gets...but like i dont like how she show her faint or get dizzy in one min and then shes fine or running around chasing kids or dabbu or becoming hyper the second shes up...(i myself get fainting episodes and dizzy spells...and i know that i feel horribly weak after fainting or when dizzy, i would not be able to run around and be lively the min i wake up) but i know they have shown it properly most of the time so i am not goin to be after the cv for it.

sorry i think i kinda went off topic...but im goin to shut up now and just that that i completely agree with you on how they are portraying the cancer track...they are taking cancer soo lightly...which is really insensitive...

im goin to stop now now, sorry for the long comment, i cant stop talking most of the time lol. but just gna say once again that i really really like your topic! :D

My grand mother too was diagnosed with the last stage of cancer. The doctor said she wont live beyond six months. She took the normal treatment for cancer- medicines, chemo... She didnt cry or ask for anyone's sympathy because she was sick or bcos she thought she thought she will die soon. She overcame it and later lived for 10 more years. A major factor to help her was her confidence and the moralle of those around her. We treated her as if she was quiet good.

People reacts to things differently. There are some people even when she have a small cold, they make a hue and cry about it. But there are some even when going through the most difficult periods acts as if they dont have a care in the world. It is that same attitude of theirs that helps them to overcome those difficult times.

Can you imagine people always crying when they see you? What a doctor always tells a cancer patient is to keep up their confidence. Often they might not get well, but it gives the patient hope that some day they might get well. It doesnt give a patient much hope when people start treating you as if they are going to die tomorrow.

The writers from the beginning had protrayed Maanvi as a girl who wants live life to her fullest. I dont think that just a girl will suddenly turn into a water pot because she was diagnosed with such a deadly disease. Even when she was healthy her first thought was always about her sister. I dont think she changed after that. She doesnt want somebody's sympathy because she has cancer, so she asked everyone at hrishikesh to act the same way with her. Maanvi doesnt believe in wallowing in self-pity. Atleast that is how I read her character. Perhaps you might have read her differently.

The script was shaky at times I do agree with that. Esp the parts where Beeji was hesitating to inform about Maanvi's cancer issue. I for one doesnt think they portrayed the cancer issue as badly as some make out. But everyone has a different take on things.

I wont comment on Virika or Virman romance scenes... There has been lots of arguments about it already.

wow!!!! you do have some attitude man can you request you post a similar post in another forum which badly needs such kind of in the face post!!!

Well yes the cliches are not ok for me...thought i do not totally agree withCancer track some things are ok for me and some things are not ok

and well hat off to your post...that it nothing more to say...esp the story focus is actaully not supposed to be Vir-man love story or even Vir-ika love but more on how the behanas deal the twist and turns in their life and remain soul mates...yes soulmates

one unique thing that attracted me her was here was not the love story or chemistry or romance between the Viren and Jeevika or Virat and Maanvi...

I watch it purely for the message they show that yes tow sister can have love above everything ...and yes they have issues Mus and everyting like all normal man-woman lovers but they way they bond over is so sweet

There are so many scene i love in between the behanas...and that what keeps me hooked here...and yes i prefer showing optimism in cancer track as ye son of my aunts had it and and the way she was fighting it was awesome...She came to my wedding immediately after
her chemotherapy session

I was zapped by her determination thought she was not goofy or full of life like Maanvi but preferred to live life her way rather that Cancer pull it down

Its three year since my marriage and two years since she passed away but she never let self pity or depression over take her...

Hat off to her!!!

korean dramas = 100000 times better than indian shows!!
reason: they don't drag, and give the viewers what they are looking for.

i know mentioning something like k dramas is really random of me lol but once upon a time i used to watch a lot of indian shows, until my friends introduced me to asian dramas. serials drag so much, and most of the time, in love stories especially they waste way to much time in eye lock scenes there go 5 minutes of my life wasted and other useless scenes that confused viewers. and in the end, when the guy/girl realizes they love someone, that person or the person they love dies. and they also show a lot of unrealistic scenarios, like evil bahu's evil enough to try to kill ppl. its ridiculous!!
i applaud you for speaking yur mind!!! and hey i am with you on this one 100%, stupid creaters don't understand the seriousness of cancer, and this is BLOOD CANCER at that. i heard they found the cure for it, but seriously, its not even confirmed. -__-
i'll be honest, i like VirMan, they are better than some other couples on other shows, but the cancer was NOT necessary.
this is the only serial i am watching b/c my cousin was spazzing over how good it was, and i should've known, nothing will ever come close to DMG, but anyway no comparisons since the plots are totally different. indian creatives are weird, and most actors can't really act, or they actuallly can but the stupid directors suck at their job and don't make the actors shine out in the serial.😕

anyway if you are looking for a goood romantic comedy story i suggest you watch Secret Garden, You're Beautiful or Personal Preference (yes they are k dramas but they are actaully filmed professionally, and they screenwriters are geniuses that won't ever dissappoint or give false hope)
