Debate between Kareena-Ranbir fans about who's better?
* Knock Knock*It was 9pm. Maanvi moved her duvet and stood up from her sofa and walked slowly to the front door of her flat. She was in her checkered pyjamas shorts and a grey vest. Her hair slightly wavy. (Something like this)
She opened the door and her eyes grew wide and her mouth formed an o shape. She blinked her eyes rapidly and clutched her fist together to feel the reality. Infront of her stood a dark figure. His hair gelled up as he wore a grey V neck t-shirt, revealing his chiseled abs with a black leather jacket on top. His jeans were black and he wore grey shoes. He was carrying a suitcase in his hand (something like this)
'Viraaat!' Manvi squealed in excitement as she moved her arms and hugged him tightly. He hugged back with equal force.
'You're here?' she whispered in his ear as they were hugging. He felt her warm breath in his face as he smiled at the comfortable atmosphere. 'How, what, when?', she spoke rapidly, clutching tightly onto him. She didn't want to let go of his warm presence 'Please let it not be a dream', she thought.
'I missed you', he confessed. He kissed her neck and she smiled.
She leaned back to stare at his face, her arms still wrapped around his neck as he held her firmly by the waist. She looked into his warm brown eyes as he gazed back into hers. They stood there staring eachother as he moved his hand and caressed lightly on her cheeks.
'Took you a month!', she shot back and moved away from his grasp only to be pulled back with force. She crashed onto his chest as he clutched her hand and kissed it. It had been a month since she had been back from Seattle.
'I'm sorry. I was just you know taking my last law exams before I graduate, no biggie', he said sarcastically.
'Wow! We think alike don't we?', she said, grinning.
'Made for eachother', he stated, smiling.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'How did your exams go? Well I know about the others but what about the last one? Good? Not good? It will be good. Don't worry! You're going to pass everything. I know you have done your best!', Maanvi spoke rapidly as she handed him the black coffee.
'Maanvi', Virat sofly said, pulling her towards to sit on the sofa.
'Haan', she replied, sitting on the sofa. She looked at him confused.
'Breath', he ordered. Smiling at her behaviour.
'Oh okay', she sighed.
'You are more nervous about my results then I am',he chuckled lightly, holding her closer to him and sipping his coffee.
'Stop making fun of me', she pouted, scrunching up her nose.
'I'm sorry', he gave a cheeky smile. He knew she couldn't be mad at him for long.
'It's alright. I forgive you', she smiled back. 'Can this day get any better?', she asked, bitting her bottom lips
'Yes it can', he said casually.
'Huh', she asked, confused.
'I have another suprise for you. You know I have to do 1 years work experience with a law agency before I get a permanent job', he said, still trying to control showing any signs on his face.
'Yehhh?', she exaggerated, trying to read the blank expression on his face.
'Well guess where it is?', he grinned.
'Where?', she asked confused
'Guess?', he replied, rolling his eyes.
'Near your house?' she asked, still confused.
'How are you so smart?', he sarcastically replied.
'Oh! Not there then' she spoke as his later words sinked in. ' Stop being mean!', she shot back.
'I'm not', he replied.
'Well then tell me?', she asked.
'London', he exclaimed.
'WHAT?', she shouted and put her hand on his chest. 'Are you serious?'
'Jee Maanvi Ji', he replied.
'OMYDAYS!' she shrieked
'I know', he agreed, grinning.
'And since it's make Maanvi happy day today, suprise for you', he said
'Another suprise Virat?', she asked, her jaw dropped.
'Well banta hai you know what's next week?', he smirked.
'Yes the day I age more', she pouted.
'Well Yeh that, we are going away', he said, his voice full on enthusiasm.
'We are? where?', she questioned him, excited.
'You always wanted to go to Spain right?', he said, as he grinned at her changing expression to shock as she beamed a bright smile moments later and she hugged him tightly.
'Viraaat? Can you stop being so perfect right now?', she asked.
'Yes, That coffee tasted really bad', he admitted. She pushed him away and gasped and he laughed.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Maanvi, we are going to be sleeping on the same bed? Isn't that scandalous? Are you going to put pillows in between or a curtain or make me sleep on the sofa?', he asked, winking in her direction as she looked back at him.
'HA HA'she said sarcastically, removing her makeup with wipes.'Viraat? This isn't Jodha Akbar. Neither you are Akbar or I am Jodha. I don't have a curtain dividing the bed! You can't sleep on the sofa, it's really uncomfortable to sleep on and besides I trust you to sleep on your side.', she smiled and he winked at her.
Sunshine beamed into her bedroom. As the dark curtains were pulled back, the strong rays shone directly on their faces. Maanvi shifted slightly. The warm rays were distracting her the sleep yet she didn't want to open her eyes to break this dream. She felt warmness near her as her head rested on Virat's chest. She felt strangely comfortable in this hard embrace. His arms were around her as he felt softness around him. His jaw rested on her head as he could smell the fruity scent of her hair. Maanvi gave in on the distraction and opened her eyes slowly to see she was lying on Virat's chest, she smiled and her face flustered at their proxomity. She slowly started moving herself away from him, not wanting to wake him. He felt the softness leaving him and his eyes abruptly opened in confusion. She was now standing besides the bed, pulling on her grey cardigan.
'Good Morning', she said, smiling brightly as her eyes light up.
'Good Morning', he replied huskily. He ran his hands through his hair and yawned. She looked at his smug expression and decided it was better to go from there then to discuss the eariler events. She walked to the bathroom to take a shower and hide her embarassed face.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Hello Mum', Maanvi brightly said as she sat on the kitched counter waiting for the bread in the toaster.
'Hello Beta, Maanvi, are you coming home today? Maanvi's mother asked.
No Mum, think I will stay here for the weekend and finish my remaining assignments', she lied as she wanted to spend time with Virat. He was pouring water into the kettle as he looked in her direction and smirked and turned back to turn the kettle on.
'Maanvi, It's Maya's Roka tonight?' Her mum informed her.
'WHAT?', Maanvi shouted as her mum told her off for being so loud. Virat turned back abruptly to look in her direction. She stared at his face.
'Why didn't she tell me herself?' she thought. But then again Maanvi and Maaya haven't talked in months. 'Why do suddenly?' She asked and her mother replied, 'I thought you knew. We got the cards 2 weeks ago. You are Maaya are friends'.
'Engagement to who?',she questioned.
'Rishi! Beta you are coming today right?', her mum asked. (Rishi is the guy, Virat had always said faniced Maanvi. Refer to chapter 2 Restaurant story)
WHAT?' she shouted a little too loud on the phone. Virat got more worried by her reactions and wondered why she was shocked. She looked at him shocked and smiled moments later. He looked confused and silently mouthed 'Whats up?'
Mum, we'll- she bit her tongue and slapped her palm on her forehead. - I'll be there.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What? Virat asked sternly, confused by this unexpected information as Maanvi filled him in with the details about the conversation she had with her mum earlier. 'Wow', he exclaimed. 'Never expected that', he stated grinning.
'Oh so that was the girlfriend he was talking about' she realized.
'Wait? Why am I going again?', he asked, confused.
'Moral support. I am heartbroken', she replied sarcastically, pouting and battered her eyeslashes to convince him otherwise. 'Please Virat, we can spend time together? as he shrugged her and gave her Are-you-kidding-look. She smacked her forehead in realization that her family will be around her. 'They are our friends aswell', she insisted.
'Since when' he rolled his eyes at the thought of being friends with Rishi and Maaya.
'Since now? We are going to be civil and be nice and your going to be on you best behaviour', she warned him.
'This is going to the most awkward roka we ever went to', he stated and she nodded and laughed. He joined her in her laugh as he ate the toast.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maanvi arrived at home in the afternoon and greeted her parents and siblings. She pecked everyone on the cheek and gave a bear hug. She had come back after a month. Since coming back from Seattle, she had to finish her final deadlines before her graduation, which kept her from visiting as she knew that visiting for one day was never enough as she always stayed back for a week.
Maanvi had convinced Virat to let his Uncle know that he was visiting as she knew that they would insist on him coming to the roka tonight as Virat's uncle was also Rishi's Godfather. Virat was liked by everyone in her her family friends and everyone enjoyed his company. Virat had initially laughed at her plan and praised her on how her mind worked.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maanvi had arrived at the banquet hall with her family. She was wearing a saree

as her hair were straight and she wore small dangling earrings. She walked inside to see her friend Jeevika standing in the corner with her family. She hurried to her side and they both greeted eachother and pecked on the cheek. Jeevika was Maanvi's closest friend although because of their hectic semesters, they hardly saw eachother nevertheless Maanvi had told her eveything about Virat. She was one of the few people who knew about them.
'Wow!' Jeevika exclaimed as they both stood infront of the bar, sipping champagne. 'This is kind of weird, with you, Virat, Maaya and Rishi. Going to be in the same room', she laughed and Maanvi stared at her, her expression changing to a smile. Her eyes lingering on to the door at the far end of the hall. She impatiently waited for him to walk through it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Virat walked into the venue with his cousin, Viren. Her eyes lit up as he looked around the room, searching for her. His gaze bore into hers as he smiled and she mirrored his expressions. He walked over to stand infront of her.
'Hey there', he said casually.
'Hey', she answered.
'Maanvi, you know my cousin, Jeevika, this is Viren', Virat introduced them.
'Hey Viren', Maavi said, smiling at him.
'Hey Maanvi' he replied humbly. Looking over to a girl standing by Maanvi. Their eyes met as he stared at her before Virat cleared his throat, which bought him back to reality as he looked around confused.
'Hello', he said as his head snapped up, looking at her.' Viren- 'as he shaked his hand.
'Hi', she replied, shaking his hand 'Jeevika'
'Jeevika', he repeated. 'Beautiful name', he added quietly. She shyly smiled.
'We are also here', Maavi said, breaking them out of their interaction as Virat grinned.
'Come Maanvi, let's meet your family', Virat said as Maanvi looked at him confused. He gave silent stares to Viren and Jeevika and Maanvi followed his gaze and quickly realized what he wanted to do. She nodded and left with him.
Maanvi giggled lightly as they left Jeevika and Viren standing at the bar. On her way forward, she glanced back to see how they were doing. She knew that Viren is a good guy but Jeevika was her closest friend and she didn't want her to feel uncomfortable. She was pleasently suprised, watching her laugh as he was telling her some stories. She smiled to herself, bitting her bottom lip and happy for her friend.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Hello Uncle', Virat said to Maanvi's father as they stood behind him. He turned around from the group he was having a conversation with to see Maanvi and Virat. He smiled brightly and tapped Virat's shoulder as blessings.
'Virat? Hello beta, how are you? Your parents didn't say anything about you coming', Maanvi's father asked.
'Jee uncle, it was a sudden plan. I am starting my internship next year so just seeing things around here', Virat replied.
'Yes, your dad told me about it. Which firm is that?', he said.
'James Scott Lawyers', he answered proudly. Maanvi smiled.
'Oh yes, that's in London right', he said.
'Jee', Virat answered.
'Well good your going to live near us. Sunday dinners are us on', Maanvi's father humbly said.
'For sure Uncle', he replied, moving to the side to wink at Maanvi, away from anyone's glance.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was evening. Around 6pm. Virat held Maanvi's hand as he led her outside into the small garden was a few minutes away from the main venue building. The park was conjoined at a different part of the building. The small garden was filled with purple lillies and the greenest grass. It was beautiful.
'This is beautiful', Maanvi admitted as they stopped outside a large victorian window.
'You are beautiful', Virat said, smirking. He leaned in close to her and blocked her path.
'Virat, someone will see', she said quietly,
'No one will see. I haven't had time with my girlfriend all day', he pouted, leaning towards her as her back faced the victorian window. He was merely inches away from her. She felt his warm breath. He placed a hand on her cheek and other hand went on her waist, pulling her closer. He kissed her passionately as she kissed him back with equal force. They broke apart after some time they both stood smiling at eachother, their breathing ragged and their hair in a mess.
'Oh', they heard a familiar voice behind them as both of them stood apart from eachother, leaving a fair distance between them.
' I'm sorry. Didn't mean to interupt. We were just going over to take some photographs'. Maaya explained, awkwardly looking at them.
They all stood silently. They had been quiet for what seemed like an eternity. As no one said anything. Or did anything. Maaya stared at Maanvi and then at Virat. Maanvi and Virat looked at eachother and Rishi curiously looked at the ground.
'The arrangements are lovely', Maanvi filled in the silence.
'Thanks', Maaya said humbly.
' So we were just going inside. See you guys around. Congrats again', Virat said, grabbing Maanvi's hand as he led her towards the main building. She happily kept up with his quick pace.
'Thanks, you too' they both said in union.
'Well that wasn't awkward at all', he said as Maanvi chuckled, clutching on to his arm.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 year later.
Virat, Viren and Jeevika were sitting in Starbucks. Virat's was shaking his leg in nervousness as Viren and Jeevika sat there curiously, smiling at him.
'Virat, how you feeling man?', Viren asked him. Virat snapped out of his earlier thoughts and looked at him confused and then his words sinked into his muddled up mind.
'I'm fine. Hope Maanvi likes the suprise', he said.
'Course she will', Jeevika answered enthusiastically.
'Or might not', Viren added as Virat looked at him confused.
'Viren, stop making him nervous', Jeevika glared at Viren and he smiled. Viren picked up Jeevika's hand and kissed it and they both started staring at eachother and smiling.
'Guys concentrate on me. Hope she likes it', Virat said, snapping them out of their romance. Jeevika looked at the other side in embarassment as Viren cleared his throat.
'Yeh, we can see that. It really is a sight watching you nervous', he answered, laughing as Jeevika lightly slapped his arm.
'Viren, stop being mean. Virat, you need to go and pick her up. Good luck!', she exclaimed, smiling.
'Good luck', Viren said, grinning.
'Thanks', he replied, sighing.
Virat looked at the sapphire diamond ring again and sighed. Today was the most special day of his life. A day that would mean a lot to Maanvi and to him. Today was the day he was going to propose to her. The most perfect day.
